    • Inlets: -8 AN
    • Overall dimensions: 13" wide x 4-9/16" tall x 2" deep
    • Distance between inlets: 10"
    • Distance between mounting holes: 12-1/4"
  • Sandwich adapter:
    • Inlet/Outlet ports: 3/8" NPT
    • O-ring diameters: 2-3/4" and 2-1/2"

The stacked-plate heat exchanger included is the most effective type of oil cooler, primarily because of its increased surface area. Allowing fluid to spread out over this larger surface area decreases the time required for heat transfer to take place, resulting in ultimate efficiency.

The sandwich adapter in this kit provides the external oil lines necessary to install a cooler without requiring you to move the factory spin-on oil filter, making it even easier to extend the life of your vehicle's engine.

I am extremely disappointed in this product. Installation has been a nightmare, even being someone that has automotive experience.
From etrailer.com's recommendations to other customers I purchased this oil cooler for my 2010 Dodge Journey.
DON'T!
Unless you have access to some way to make a custom mounting bracket mounting is impossible. This CANNOT be mounted using the supplied method due to the stock cooling fan mounting shroud.
After making my own mounting brackets from aluminum this cooler has done nothing but leak.
It uses adapters, attached to adapters to make the connections to the tank, they leak.
To attach the lines to the sandwich plate the instruct you to use teflon tape, or a similar sealant. With the temperatures and pressures involved keeping this from leaking took several attempts, not to mention oil sprayed all over the underside of my vehicle, including my brakes, and the front of my brand new trailer.
Overall a very, very disappointing experience with this product.

Save your money. Two big problems. First, the sandwich plate adapter continues to work loose causeing an oil leak. I've removed the filter and retourqed to Derale specs a couple of times and it eash time after a couple of days it starts to leak again. Derale tech support was not at all helpful, they said, hmmmm, maybe tighen it a litte more, which I did, and it didn't help. Second issue is this cooler is very small, I installed it on a Ram 1500 5.7l and it made no noticable difference in the engine oil tempure when towing. I considered buying a larger cooler core and asked Derale tech support for some sizing guidance and their best response was put as big a one as will fit. Lot of science going on there. Couldn't give me any information regarding input and output temps vs flow, sizeing guidelines by displacement, nothing, no data of any kind seemed available. I'll make one more attempt to reseal, retighten, try a new o-ring etc. It doesn't work it's coming off and going in the trash. Overall the kit is sized for a very, very small application, maybe your riding lawn mower, that should be indicated. On a full size 1/2ton pickup this does next to nothing for your oil temp. Unfortunately tech support from Derale was no help whatsoever and showed not interest in helping trouble shoot or solve the problem. Very disappointing, I'd look else where.

by:

Really happy with this kit

I bought this engine oil cooler so I could pull my 21 foot boat with my 2016 Ford Explorer. I am very pleased with how it works. It was easy to install even with having to remove the bumper cover so I could attach it to the front of the radiator. I would buy another one if I ever needed to. I would also buy from etrailer again, they have great prices and products.

by:

sandwich plate is poor quality, o-ring doesnt seal well. had to buy another companies sandwich plate to stop the leak.

by:

Very fast service. Hose length was spot on. Will be towing this next week and will see the difference from before.

  • Recommended Oil Cooler for 2006 Saturn Vue with 3.5L Engine
For your 2006 Vue, I would recommend the Derale Oil Cooler Kit with Sandwich Oil Filter Adapter, part # D15604. The adapter provided with the kit is compatible with the PH7317 oil filter used by your 3.5L engine with 2-1/2 O-ring diameter and 20x1.5mm threads.

  • Can Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit Fit 2019 Dodge Charger and 2020 Ram 1500 V8
Your 2019 Dodge Charger with a 6.4 liter V8 and your 2020 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 liter has oil filter threads of 22 mm x 1.5 mm which is one of the threaded filter sizes included with the # D15604 so it would work on both vehicles.

  • Engine Oil Cooler for a 2015 RAM 1500 with 5.7L Motor
Stacked plate coolers such as # D15604 are very efficient and you likely would not have to go to a larger cooler because of the stacked plate design. But if you want the optimum amount of cooling all the time I recommend going with a remote cooler such as # D15500. It has its own fan so it will provide the most cooling all the time; even when sitting still such as at a traffic light.

  • Cooling Options for a 2011 Ram Truck Towing an 8,000 lb Trailer
Based on the research I have done, it does seem like your engine oil temperature is running a little high when towing, so I would recommend at least installing an engine oil cooler. The engine oil cooler that I would recommend is the Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit, # D15604. This cooler is only 4-9/16 inches tall x 13 inches wide x 2 inches deep. This cooler will work well if you already have a supplemental transmission cooler installed on your truck. You could also use the...

  • Engine Oil Cooler Recommendation for a 2010 Dodge Journey STX
For your 2010 Dodge Journey, I recommend the Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit w/ Non-Thermostatic Sandwich Adapter, # D15604. • Remote Engine Oil Cooler for a 1984 Chevy G30 Van Class C Motor Home
Provided you have space for cooler # D15604 you could certainly use it on your 1984 Chevy G-series van. The overall depth is 2 inches, width 13 inches, and height 4-9/16 inches. Or you could go with a remote cooler that has it own fan like # D15450. With this set up you are not limited to placing the cooler in the front of the vehicle. It could go anywhere there is space since it has its own fan. It is 4-5/16 inches deep, 12-3/4 inches wide, and 9-3/8 inches tall.

  • Will an Engine Oil Cooler Help Bring Down Engine Temperature on a 1970 Plymouth Cuda
The Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler, # D15604, that you mentioned would be a good addition to help cool the engine oil in your 1970 Cuda. An oil cooler like # D15604 should provide you with a drop in your water temperatures. Most likely it would be a drop between 10-20 degrees but it really depends on the vehicle and how much airflow the cooler gets. I would recommend checking the specifications for cooling your specific 5.7 liter Hemi engine and going with the manufacturer recommendation...

  • Engine Oil Cooler for a 2010 Honda Accord
Engine oil coolers are not vehicle specific so can use any one that will fit in the space available in the engine compartment. Based on what I could find on the motor in your 2010 Honda Accord, it uses a 20x1.5mm filter thread and 2-1/2 inch diameter O-ring. For those sizes you will need to use kit # D15604 since the other kit, # D15602, does not have the proper O-ring size. I have included a link to the installation details and a link to our informational article on engine oil coolers for you.

  • Transmission Cooler for 2008 Nissan Frontier 2.5L 4cyl w/ Manual Transmission
Due to its lack of a pump, and due to the fact that it uses a thicker gear oil rather than transmission fluid, it is neither necessary nor feasible to cool a manual transmission. However, if your truck is subjected to hard use, an oil cooler would be a good addition. The # D15604 kit, which includes everything necessary for installation, would work well for you. I have also linked you to an informative article with more information about engine oil coolers.

  • Will Installing an Oil Cooler on a Vehicle Void the Warranty of it
An oil cooler like the # D15604 installed properly would not void the warranty of a vehicle, but you should still check with the manufacturer of the vehicle to get their stance on this type of modification first. When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like an oil cooler in this case, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. I recommend looking...

For your 2011 Toyota Tacoma, I recommend the Derale Stacked-Plate Engine Oil Cooler Kit, # D15604. This kit contains o-ring diameter sizes 2-3/4 inches and 2-1/2 inches. These are the most common sizes used on Toyota trucks. It also has multiple filter thread sizes so you will be able to find one that works. The stacked plate design is very efficient and does not take up a lot of space which will increase the places you will be able to mount the cooler. The cooler is 4-9/16 inches tall,...
