Quiet, Secure Ride
The 1" thick jaw on the Companion OEM is precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection. And unlike slide-bar models, the rounded 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
In addition to the sturdy jaw, the Companion has durable polyurethane bushings built in to provide a smoother, more comfortable towing experience. These bushings sit on top of the pivot arms that support the fifth-wheel head. Because the head is resting on a padded area, it is able to pivot without clanking. The ability of the head to pivot - both front to back and side to side - along with the trailer also helps to limit the chucking that may occur with a more static hitch.
Non-Binding Latch Handle
The dual jaw on the Companion OEM is operated by a simple-to-use cam-action handle. This handle allows you to quickly and easily release the jaws on the hitch, even if you are on uneven terrain. If any binding does occur between your truck and trailer, the jaws may remain closed after you move the handle to the open position. But because the handle is unlatched, there is nothing keeping the jaws closed except for the binding pressure. Therefore, simply driving your truck forward will be enough to force the jaws to open.
The cam-action handle is held in the closed position with the included pin and clip. For extra security, you can replace the pin with a sturdy padlock. The shackle on the lock you choose should have a diameter of 5/16", height of 3", and a width of 2-1/4".
To install the Companion OEM, first set up the Companion's pivot arms. The arms are what allow the hitch to be adjusted front to back as well as up and down for optimal positioning. As a result, this hitch can accommodate the height of your trailer and also help to give you the cab clearance needed to execute turns while towing.
To adjust either the height of the hitch or the fore/aft positioning, just attach the hitch's pivot arms in the desired location on the base. The above diagram gives an indication of where to mount the arms so that you get the height and the cab clearance that you need.
Then, when the hitch head is fully assembled, simply place the hitch in the bed of your truck, lining the base up with the receiver sockets in the bed. Rotate all 4 handles on the hitch base out so that the built-in puck receivers are in the correct position to install in the sockets. Once the base is lined up, fold the handles in until they are in the locked position and secure them with the included pins.
The hitch head installs on top of the pivot arms. When you have the head in position, simply secure it to the arms with the included pins.

really like how well built the hitch is. It's heavy to lift but manageable. Head can be easily separated from frame by removing both quick pins to lift out of truck in 2 pieces. I plan on installing an electric hoist from Harbor freight in my garage to lift hitch in and out of truck in one piece. Definitely would recommend this hitch to anyone.
great product had a patriot before this was a half hour job just had to adjust locking levers, maybe B&W should leave out the cotter pins so there not all bent after we take out to adjust. like the 2 pieces I can pic up with ease

works great very happy with it added a rubber bed mat from ford for the bed cut some holes slipped it in with the 8 foot bed I have lots of room for stuff
No problems with this hitch after one-year full time RV-ing. I like that it's two pieces so if I need to remove it it's doable to remove by my self. My 5th wheel has a turning point pin box that uses a wedge so I have to be dead straight on when I hookup but that is a pin box issue not a hitch issue but, if I'm not straight the hitch won't latch properly.

Still no problems after two years. I have locked up the pin box. Having the whole pin box turn wasnt working out to much weight for the bearing

Been great! Works flawlessly every time. Pulls my 40 foot camper amazingly.
I installed my B&W Companion into the 5th wheel truck bed package, knowing after viewing several YouTube videos,
that it should work just fine, without a slider type. My 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty 6.7L Diesel crew cab short box (6'-9") with our 2018 #3120RL Montana 5th wheel trailer work great with the B&W Companion. I estimate our max turn backing angle at 85°(don't know why I'd ever cut that tight anyway). A 5er front nose will need a radius and be tapered to make this work so great in my opinion. The Companion mounts easily into the puck system and splits into upper and lower halves for easy lifting. See my attached pictures.

After a season of many trips, we are pleased with the B&W Companion hitch, since our 5er has a radius front end, we have plenty enough room to back into our camping sites. The hitch itself articulates in all four axis very well and is quite silent will running.
Love this hitch. It is everything you need. Easy hook up and also while traveling there is no noise from it while moving down the road.

Great 5th wheel hitch! We love it because it is easy to hook up. Also while traveling down the road there is no sound coming from it.
Works well. With the right tools (torque wrench) it installed relatively easily. Have not had any problems, and I live full time in my 5th wheel.

I love the hitch. I'm glad it is 2 piece as it is very heavy. It exceeds my expectations. I've had exceptional service from both etrailer, and B & W. Thanks for everything.
This is my second B&W 5th wheel hitch. I got a new truck and the other hitch would not fit. etrailer sent out the new hitch as soon as it was in stock and received it a few days later. Although, one box was damaged thru the shipping process, and missing a part, etrailer immediately corrected the missing part and a new piece is on the way. B&W hitches are the best and most likely I will not use anything else
Package arrived well before expected and was packaged very well. No issues or damage once inspected. Direction for install was excellent and very easy to follow. Very heavy duty and packaged in a way that the weight was not all in one package. Made it much easier to manage. Very pleased with the product and highly recommend to others who are looking for a Quality fifth wheel hitch. I did go heavier than I needed for my F250 Super Duty but may later be moving it to a F350 Super Duty. Also still have the use of my Bed cover without removing upper Slide plate of the hitch.
Delivery was fast, early and undamaged (even though the box look like it had been trashed!). Assembly was straightforward. The etrailer video showing assembly made it particularly easy. Built well and should last for years.
I really like my B&W hitch it’s not my first one and it won’t be my last! Smooth ride and install is super straightforward. Maintenance in the hitch is also very simple. B&W is the only hitch I ever recommend to anybody. The only reason not 5 stars this go around is because this new hitch has quite already developed quite a bit of rust for it only being a year old… a little bummed about that but other than that good hitch!
This hitch is absolutely the best! I feel totally safe when hooked up with the hitch. The hitch can be installed in bed in in two pieces as far as the weight goes. It is no problem as far as the weight and a piece of mind knowing I have a rugged built hitch vs some of the light weight hitches I have seen. I am 61 and figured if I can’t put the hitch in the bed of the truck that I don’t need to go camping.
Shipping was fast! Paid for the 3 day but it came a day sooner than scheduled. The hitch was easy to install on my 2017 F-350 with pre-installed fifth wheel pkg (8’ bed). I also tow a 36’ keystone carbon toyhauler and I use the middle setting for the hitch and it sits level. Hitch is quiet and makes the ride smooth!
Extremely happy with the B&W Companion provided by etrailer the videos as well as the packaged instructions are precise. I chose the right setting the first time around (yea) all in all the hitch is solid as they come. On a small note locks would be nice part of package.Towing is a breeze and I will definitely recommend etrailer and b&w hitch to all. Customer service is great and with timely response to my emails.
World Largest Mobile Kitchen B&W Companion OEM 5th-Wheel Hitch for Ford Super Duty Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs - BWRVK3300 is the most innovative towing products I have seen in a long time. It fit into the Ford hitch system with no problems. It is a shame that Ford, Chevy, and Dodge cannot have a universal mounting like the receiver hitches so that they fit all trucks. It is designed to be either directly above axle or 4 inches ahead.

I bought this to go with my Enterprise Leasing Ford Truck. They are talking about sending me a Dodge. The regional manager for Enterprise truck inventory is planning on coming to your location to see about getting a Dodge Carrier. Still like the unit.!!!!!!!
Can’t get any better, I use this to tow my 18000 lbs 5th wheel and last year it was for 5000 miles. Easy to put on and pull off. Very secure when towing over rough highways and gravel roads.

2 years and 10,000 miles later and it is still a solid buy. I have a 8’ bed F350 and it is easy on and easy off. Driving and hauling my 40’5th wheel is a set and forget piece of essential equipment for 5th wheel hauling.
Just installed, so far so good. Picking up fifth wheel tomorrow. We'll see how it tows!

Simple to put together, I can really appreciate the tight tolerances , testing and standard (J 2638) that the equipment has to pass in order to sell it. Another great achievement is it fits my F-350 "Puck system". I've pulled on rails a long time and I'm looking forward to pulling on this new installation. Only problem you have is during shipment on of my handle got bent ....no big deal , I straightened it. But you may consider packing it different in the furture...............

hitch is working out great. Have used it a year now with no issues. Easy to install in truck and would recommend to anyone looking for a good dependable hitch.
