Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 1,500-lb Rear Suspension Support

Heavy loads can make the back of your vehicle squat and throw off your steering and braking. These SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs add up to 1,500 lbs of rear support at 50-percent compression to keep your ride level when towing or hauling. They help your factory suspension carry the weight evenly so the front tires keep proper contact with the road, handling stays predictable, and your headlights stay aimed where they should.

Smooth Out the Rough Stuff: Progressive Load Control

Every bump and rut hits differently, especially when loaded down. The microcellular urethane springs compress according to the weight of your cargo—softer at first for lighter loads and firmer as weight increases. That progressive action cushions bumps, reduces harsh jolts, and keeps the ride smooth whether you’re running empty or fully packed.

Comparison image showing SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs installed, with one spring compressed under load and the other uncompressed, demonstrating load support for rear axle suspension.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When uneven pavement or a sharp curve tries to tilt your rig, each spring works on its own side to balance things out. This independent action helps cut down body roll and sway so your vehicle feels planted on the highway, through turns, or when a crosswind kicks up.

Install It Once and Forget About It: Maintenance-Free Design

These urethane helper springs are simple and built to last. They install with no drilling, need no airlines or air pressure checks, and resist oils, road salts, and UV rays. With vertical compression that limits side expansion, they fit tight spaces safely and keep working season after season without extra upkeep.

Installing these babies in the morning. Very pleased with this product.

by:

Great quality and fast delivery. The only problem I had was wether to install the 1 inch spacer. On my 2018 entegra odyssey ( jayco ) I didn’t need the spacers.

by:

Good ride now!

by:

They were very easy to install and did make a noticeable difference in driving just one of the improvements to improve driving

by:

Still happy after a year great product

by:

I got my order in three days ! I installed them immediately and took a test drive and could tell that they helped with the sway I had been feeling from big trucks passing me on the interstate.

by:

RV Class C Jayco Redhawk. Easy install. No Jacking. great ride improvement.

by:

Came in good time as promised !

by:

As Always excellent pre-sale support from E-trailer. I wasn’t sure these would fit my 2018 Jayco Greyhawk built on a Ford E-450 chassis. I emailed to confirm and got an immediate response.
I had my local mechanic install these and it took him about 1.5 Hrs. No issues, he said they installed easily.
Can’t wait to take the rig on the Interstate to test it out. I did drive home locally after the install and I can’t say I noticed a huge difference.
Thanks Etrailer.

After buying sumo springs for the front of my 2021 Jayco Greyhawk 30Z. I liked them so much I decided to buy them for the rear. It took me 10 min to install them. It’s an awesome improvement in handling and they work well with the stock springs. They only took 3 day from order to delivery. Just when you think customer service is dead your team did a great job. Thank you and I highly recommend these Sumo spring to anyone with a Class C motor home.

by:

The installation was simple and easy to complete. Ratcheting box wrenches (14 & 15 mm) would have made the job a lot easier but standard tools did work. The instructions were missing some useful information regarding the mounting holes and spacer use. I will follow up this post with a report on how well the RV rides with this upgrade after the next few trips. I will reserve final rating until I test drive.

by:

Was easy to install and works very well. In conjunction with the steering stabilizer made driving our Ford Class C much more pleasant (especially when going over big bumps).

by:

I've had these Sumo Springs on my 2018 Thor 26HE Class C with standard sway control for over a year and immediately after I installed them I noticed a huge difference, like night and day. I installed them myself, it was easy but took some time because I had to use a floor jack and blocks for the rear, the front went in very easy. A definite must have. I'm not sure I even need to upgrade my sway control like I originally planned.

by:

Great product easy installation and fast shipping

by:

Definitely less roll when turning. Installation went well. Would have been easier if installed RV equipment hadn’t been right in the way

by:

Very easy install

  • Which SumoSprings Are Best for My Thor Freedom Elite 28FE on Ford E450 Chassis?
Hello Mark, Based on what you described with the driveway angle and the additional weight you plan to carry on the hitch, I would recommend going with the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-130-54. The main difference between the two kits you mentioned is the density of the spring. The # SSR-130-54 is the higher-capacity version at 2,800 pounds compared to the # SSR-130-47 at 1,500 pounds, so it provides more support when the suspension compresses. In your case that...

  • Can 2024 Jayco Greyhawk 31F Use SumoSprings For Suspension Enhancement
Hey Wolfe, Yes, you can put the black SumoSprings on the rear suspension of your 2024 Jayco Greyhawk 31F. For that, all you need is the following: - SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-130-47 Putting these on your Jayco motorhome is really smart so you made a nice choice. SumoSprings work really well to counteract sway on rigs like your Jayco because they compress only based on the amount of weight being transferred. That means SumoSprings will take the brunt of the weight to...

  • Will SuperSteer Trac Bar and SumoSprings Fit on a 2023 Jayco Redhawk 22CF
Thanks for reaching out, James! The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-130-47 will fit perfectly fine with the SuperSteer SS451 trac bar on your 2023 Jayco Redhawk 22CF. I reached out to SuperSteer to get their take on this and they agreed that there is enough room for both to fit together.

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement For A Class C Motorhome On A 2021 Ford E-450 Chassis
Hi Jennifer, Manufacturers do tend to forget about the suspension/ride quality when it comes to building these RV's so this is a very common issue. Luckily SuperSprings International has just what you need with their SumoSpring jounce bumpers. Their microcellular springs offer load leveling support and a much needed cushion for the suspension to help eliminate the bounce or jarring bang when your axle hits the smaller/stiffer factory bump stops. These springs are completely maintenance...

  • SumoSprings for 2013 Pleasure Way Pursuit
Hi Bob; the # SSR-130-47 you were looking at will fit your 2013 Pleasure Way Pursuit built on the E-350 chassis. However, since this is a motorhome I would get a rear set with a higher rating. The SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-47-1 would be a better choice. These have a capacity of 5,000 lbs which will offer a lot more support and stability compared to the 1,500 lb springs. At a minimum, I would get the # SSR-106-40-1 with a 3,000 lb capacity. For the front you can...

  • Comparing SumoSprings Kits SSR-130-54 and SSR-130-47 for 2021 E-450 Class C Motorhome
Between the two part numbers # SSR-130-54 and # SSR-130-47 the key difference is the amount of support each will provide for your 2021 Ford E-450 Class C motorhome. The 47 provides 1,500 lbs of additional support whereas the 54 provides 2,800 lbs. To balance support and ride quality I would go with the 47 over the 54 as that would be the less harsh solution.

The only difference in these kits is going to be the color of the springs which defines their weight capacity. • Recommended SumoSprings for Ford E350 Front and Rear Suspension Enhancement
I'd be happy to assist. For a 2001-2014 E350 van model or 2015-2018 E350 Cutaway, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-130-54 which have a 2,800 lb capacity at 50% compression. These springs progressively add more support as they compress do you don't have a rigid ride and yet have the support when needed. It will help stabilize your vehicle and reduce body roll. • Best Way to Improve Ride Quality on 2018 Ford E-450 Motorhome
The ride in your 2018 Ford E-450 will be improved to a certain degree by the SumoSprings - Front Axle # SSF-106-40 and Rear Axle # SSR-130-47, but they will not give you a ride that is as cushioned as air bags. So for the main purpose of improving a ride that is stiff and jarring, I do recommend air bags over SumoSprings, with the best option being the Firestone Ride-Rite. The correct fit for these air bags on your '18 E-450 are the following: - Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs #...

  • What SumoSprings Will Fit a 2022 Jayco Greyhawk E-450 Chassis With J-Ride Factory Suspension?
With your 2022 Jayco Greyhawk having the J-Ride you will need either the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-130-47 which are rated for 1,500lbs or the Springs # SSR-130-54 which are rated for 2,800lbs. Both these are for the rear suspension only as there is not a kit available which fits the front having the J-Ride. If you are heavily loaded or towing a large trailer I recommend going with the 2,800lb kit. Otherwise the 1,500lb kit will be sufficient since the J-Ride adds helper...

I would avoid the Timbren # TFER35092LB and instead go with the SumoSprings for your 2013 Thor Four Winds 22E on the Ford E350 chassis: - SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-130-47 The 1,500 lb weight capacity of the SumoSprings will be more than enough to help stabilize the back end of your Thor, and will give you a better overall ride than the stiff, oftentimes harsh rubber of the Timbrens. The SumoSprings will compress based on the amount of weight being transferred and are...

  • Is It Normal for SumoSpring to Make Contact With Frame with Just Vehicle Weight on Suspension
It isn't out of the ordinary for the SumoSpring kits like the part # SSR-130-47 to make contact with just the weight of the vehicle on the suspension. This is more true for RVs where the weight on the chassis varies more with how it's configured.

In regards to the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-130-47, the amount of contact or engagement will vary by application and we unfortunately cannot inform of this for any one particular application since there are so many variables. That said, typically for the cab and chassis model springs you'll want them to engage just slightly with the weight vehicle. If you have a gap you can fill this with the included spacer until you make contact with the axle. That said, it's okay...
