In regards to the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-130-47, the amount of contact or engagement will vary by application and we unfortunately cannot inform of this for any one particular application since there are so many variables. That said, typically for the cab and chassis model springs you'll want them to engage just slightly with the weight vehicle. If you have a gap you can fill this with the included spacer until you make contact with the axle. That said, it's okay if there is a slight gap and it's also okay if the springs are pre-loaded more.
