This connector combines a 7-way and a 4-way plug into a single, sleek unit. It allows for seamless hookup of various trailers, accommodating both standard 4-pin and 7-blade RV connectors in one go, making it ideal for those with diverse towing needs.

Installation Simplified: Plug-In Installation with No Cutting Required

Forget the hassle of complex installations and time-consuming electrical work. This trailer connector features a plug-in installation design that eliminates the need for cutting or splicing wires. Simply insert it into your vehicle's tow package port, and you are ready for the road. It's hassle-free and perfect for those who prefer simplicity without compromising functionality.

Weatherproof Design for All Conditions: Durable ABS Plastic with Enhanced Sealing

Worried about dirt, moisture, and corrosion affecting your trailer connector? This Hopkins connector comes equipped with a durable ABS plastic lid and enhanced weatherproofing features. Its internal seals and corrosion-resistant terminals are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, ensuring your connections remain strong and reliable regardless of the elements.

Wide Open Access: Oversized 180-Degree Lid Hinge

Video Transcript for Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Spec Review

Today we're going to review part number HM40950. This is the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector for the Vehicle End. Now this trailer connector will serve as a replacement for a damaged socket on a vehicle or it also can be added to a vehicle that has a factory tow package, but doesn't have the connector on it. Now it is designed for vehicles that already have the 7-way tow package on it because it's made to plug into the harness on the vehicle. It is a simple plug in installation. You just insert this into that harness on your tow package port. There's no cutting or splicing of wires, no tools needed.

Does give you a nice 7-way connection and at the very bottom, also a 4-way connection. Both, and we could see, have caps to protect them when they're not being used. This is made of a nice ABS plastic. Gives you enhanced weatherproofing, has internal seals, both the cap there and also this protection, and they use corrosion resistant terminals. The lid itself keeps out dirt and moisture. If you noticed the over-sized hinge right up here, allows the lid to open 180 degrees or more.

It gives you a nice single connection point. Now it does come with the bolts and the nuts for installing this onto your vehicle. If you have a place to install it already or a bracket, you can bolt it right onto that. If not, we do sell mounting brackets separately on our website. Also comes with 2 packs of dielectric grease. Which anytime you make an electrical connection ...

I backed through a low spot and dragged my original connector through the dirt, damaging the 4-pin connector. This new Hopkins trailer connector is an exact match for the original connector on my Lippert hitch. Installation was quick and easy. Dielectric grease is included. The construction quality for this connector seems to be great. I wish all of my RV repairs were this easy!

by:

This is exactly the same electrical hook up I have on my motorhome. My driveway is steep and I guess bottom out and I needed a replacement.

@Frank Glad we had the right fit for you Frank! Hopefully your driveway is nicer to this one =) What kind of motorhome do you have? What fun adventures have you been on this year?

by:

I made it fit. Drilled holes in bumper and connected it the the factory harness! Voila!

by:

The one installed by the RV manufacturer was defective. The new one I installed, works great. And the connector came with the hardware to install it on my rig.

by:

I was very surprised bt the next day delivery! little did I know you have a warehouse just miles from me. The part was the exact part, came with hardware and snapped onto the harness on our Motorhome, One and done.

doing great, use it with my yard trailer works great with the LED lighting on my trailer

by:

Product has worked well. I like the way the cover opens really wide so it's easy to line up the plug.
I installed it on my F-350 on a Ranch Hand rear bumber. The four screw holes holes ranch hand drilled for the screws where slightly off from the holes in your product so I had to rotate connector CCW and drill and tap four new holes.

by:

It worked great for my project , had to cut the mount off the factory hitch

by:

I like the dual (4-pin + 7-pin) outlet, but the mounting hole do not align with the Tacoma bracket. Additionally, the "simply plug in using existing vehicle wiring" isn't quite accurate either. The plug on the vehicle wiring does not match-uo color-wise with your connector. To get the lights to work properly, I had to cut the wires and attach them to each respective post on the connector

The bolt hole pattern is compatible with aftermarket mounting brackets, but not necessarily with OEM brackets or existing holes in bumpers. The connector is designed to plug into the existing US Car connector under the vehicle, which is wired at the factory.

by:

Works fine and seems to be made well. Only issue is that the connector screw mounting holes do not match up to the OEM mounting bracket holes and requires drilling of the OEM mounting bracket to mount this connector.

by:

Very happy with my choice of this brake controller. Full of features that make it worth the price. I especially like the ability to store 3 different trailer settings. This makes it easy to use when you tow several different trailers without having to manually change the brake settings.

by:

was a little damaged with product. but etrailer Is working wonderful with me on it cant complain at all will shop with them again

works great. great service

by:

I have a 1999 (early) Ford F250 Super Duty with both the RV 7 way plus the trailer 4 way plugs. I used item # 118243 to connect to the truck square plug, & then part # HM 40950 which has the 7 and 4 way connector. It was a perfect fit and install was easy.

by:

Bought the wiring harness that goes with just the 7 pin but swapped in this head to give myself added operability. Works well. Haven't had the occasional to confirm that both connections work at the same time but the q&a said they would

by:

Holes for mounting to factory bracket did not align so I had to keep in place with zip ties.

by:

I installed this on a 2016 Ford Interceptor Utility PPV (police pursuit vehicle). The only challenge was modifying the mounting location on the factory hitch assembly to accommodate the larger housing. It works well as I used it the day I installed it, to tow a rental utility trailer and it worked perfectly.

by:

Swapped out for my 7 way plug to get the integrated 4 way connection. Exact replacement.

by:

Good product for a good price! Product was exactly a shown. I have made quite a few purchases from ETrailer and will continue buying from them in the future.

by:

Will use etrailer in the future - the service, communication and product were all excellent.

by:

Fits perfectly, however there are no fasteners for mounting included.

by:

Oem style, easy installation, seems like good quality.

by:

Great products that were easy to instal l.

by:

Product is well made, but did not fit like I was led to believe it would. Had to modify the mount on the truck, but it was not too difficult. Someone without a shop would have a problem, fortunately I have a well equipped shop and the know how to modify just about anything put to me. But the part works well just like designed, really happy with the way it looks and all as well.

by:

Everything I've ordered has been on time and performed as it should. Will order again as needed.

by:

Works just fine. No problems at all. Fits and works without incident.

  • Will the Universal Wiring Harness Part # HM40985 Fit the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow Part # HM40950
Yes, the Universal Wiring Harness part # HM40985 is compatible with the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector part # HM40950. The male plug is referred to as a US car connector and is very common on most vehicles today. I have attached a wiring diagram for you as well.

Since your 2017 Honda Ridgeline has the factory 7-way connector on it you should have a wiring harness that has the standard to package plug. It's the harness that plugs into the back of the 7-way connector and looks like the picture I attached. If this is how your 7-way connects then you can simply unplug the factory connector and replace it with part # HM40950 that has both a 4-way and a 7-way connector in one.
