Today we're going to review part number HM212049. This is the Redline trailerwheel bearing. This is an outer wheel bearing that fits the 20,000 and 25,000 lbaxles. These replacement bearings are high-quality, tapered roller bearings, which aredesigned for high-speed use. All bearings will have an industry standard numberstamped on them, regardless of the brand. For this one, it's actually stamped righthere, HM212049.

The bearing you might need on your trailer will have adifferent number, depending on which brand you have. If you just give us that partnumber, we'll be able to cross-reference it and get you the correct bearing you willneed. If you do not have a part number on the bearing, you would have to usethe inner diameter measurement of the bearing, and to get that measurement, it wouldrequire the use of a digital caliper, which will have a readout in thousandths of aninch, because the measurement is listed in thousandths of an inch, so a regular ruler ora tape measure would not work. In the case of this bearing, if we measure theinside diameter, it would measure 2.625 inches. This bearing is made up of three pieces.

Basically, the inner cone or the inner ring iswhat would slide onto the axle, or I'm sorry, the spindle, the actual tapered rollerbearings themselves, and they are held on by the cage or the roller retainer. Lubricationon a bearing is usually wheel-bearing grease or oil, it depends on thebearing. There is one other piece that is required, and that is the bearing race.That is the part that is usually installed onto the hub, so when the bearing slides in, itwould actually rotate on the race inside the hub. That is sold separately. The partnumber for the race for this bearing would be HM212011.

The critical measurement on the racewould be the outside diameter, and for that part number, the outside diameter would be 4.813. That should do it for a review of part number HM212049. .
