This Generation III Classic Personal snowplow is the most recent innovation from SnowBear. This plow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch (sold separately) for easy, convenient mounting. It has a remote-controlled electric winch that will let you raise and lower the plow without leaving the warmth and comfort of your cab. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain. Angled trip springs are also built in to help keep the blade from catching and tripping.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

HITCH MOUNTING

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. Unlike a plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets, which ties you down to just 1 vehicle, this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

To install the Personal snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver . Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

How to Plow

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, or 22 degrees to the left or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote or the in-cab toggle switch, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the Personal snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Easy Lifting with Electric Winch

WINCH

The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using a toggle switch that mounts in your cab. You can also use the included wireless remote control. The winch uses a durable nylon strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.

Great product. Great job on packing, box was beat up and full of holes but all hardware was taped to the receiver so I was able to install the receiver instead of calling to get all the hardware replaced. This is my third product from etrailer.com and I am 110% happy with product and service.

Still looks new and works great. No issues

Fit is exact, excellent product. A over sized drill bit or step bit recommended for making access holes larger.

2002 Jeep TJ

I installed the Curt front hitch on my 2002 Jeep TJ in preparation for mounting a snow plow. I also have a class III 9,000 lb receiver hitch winch that I will mount to the hitch. I choose his hitch type because I needed the receiver below the bumper (plow attachment height requirement), I currently have a brush guard above bumper and this hitch type appeared to be “heavy duty” with good online reviews. I also have an OME 2.5” heavy load lift kit on the Jeep.

The hitch was delivered within four business days and I had it installed in an hour, it’s that easy. I had previously viewed the Curt MFG installlation video, just a few steps, so I had tools ready. I positioned the hitch using a floor jack to mark the two frame holes that needed to be drilled. I enlarged the two existing frame holes, to feed the carriage bolts through, with a step drill bit. The fishwire to feed the carriage bolt and square hole spacer through the frame was the “cool” part and key to reduce install time. My wife helped with final hitch position lift and once flange nuts torqued I was really for testing snow plow.

The quality and fit of this hitch is exceptional. The mounting hardware is good quality too, grade 8 yellow tinted nuts and bolts. The height of the receiver is 15” (to bottom of square tubing) with OME lift kit. The snow plow fit and operated perfectly. Very pleased with Curt hitch and eTrailer purchase.

This front hitch is great! I purchased it to easily mount and remove a fishing rod holder and cooler rack, rather than mounting it to the bumper. It fits my 1997 Jeep Wrangler perfectly. Install was very easy, but you do need to have the right tools for the job. The instructions were very clear and there is a [online video] from Curt Manufacturing that was easy to follow as well. Hitch is very high quality and sturdy. Completely enjoyed working with etrailer as well. Great prices and I couldn’t believe how fast they got my order shipped after my order was placed. Looking forward to many years enjoyment from this hitch and will definitely shop etrailer again!

The product was top quality. Easy to install (once we removed an old towing hitch). We used it to mount a snow blade of a 2006 Jeep Wrangler and it worked beautifully.

2004 Jeep TJ

Sturdy built receiver. Requires enlarging 4 existing holes in frame and drilling 2 new holes. You will need a grinding stone that fits in the existing holes and a 9/16 drill bit for the new holes. Fairly straightforward installation.

by: John 11/17/2023

Hi. I installed my hitch with no hitches other than I'm 68 and movin kinda slow. I have installed two hitches and they are straight forward. I definitely read the instructions.

2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I bought a Snow bear personal plow and a separate Curt receiver hitch for the front of my 2012 F250.. after speaking with Erica W. several times due to blunders on my part, all was perfect. Quick delivery, price was right, items are super rugged. The stock photos don't do justice. My plow came in at 350 pounds without the receiver hitch. It's not a cheap toy plow. Get one, they'll fit nearly anything! Thanks Erica!!

I'm very happy with this hitch. It fit on my 2002 Tj perfectly with the front tubular bumper with no modifications.

Jeep

This hitch is excellent! it fits well on my jeep and works well with the plow that is attached. The installation requires tools and talent. I found a step drill was all that was needed to enlarge the mounting holes and of course a 9/16" drill to drill the additional hole needed to mount it to the frame. what I thought would be the hardest part threading the bolts from the inside of the frame was made easy by the threading springs included in the package. Kudos to who ever thought of that. I was able to use a small floor jack to hold it up while I marked the frame and inserted the bolts which made it easy. This is one of those projects that take four hours the first time you do it and one hour the second.

2006 JeepWrangler

A well-designed, solid product. Installation instructions are clear. Good quality hardware. Did the whole thing by myself in an afternoon. To mark the location of two holes that need to be drilled in the frame, I supported the hitch on a long 2x6 and miscellaneous pieces of lumber that I keep on hand for cribbing purposes.

On my 2006 TJ Wrangler, there was nearly a 1/4" gap on both sides between the frame and the hitch plates. Some clearance is needed to install the hitch, but that gap seemed excessive. So I inserted four 1/2" washers on both bolts on the driver side of the hitch between the frame and hitch plate to take up most of the gap.

Now I have hitch mounts front and rear. I also bought a hitch mount for my winch. So, no matter how I get my Jeep stuck, I can pull it out in the right direction.

We live on a farm and have several pieces of machinery that needs to be moved from place to place, not just towed behind. The front hitch receiver on our Jeep Wrangler makes this a piece of cake, not to mention dealing with our boat at the boat ramp. Works extremely well. Mounted a winch on a "hitch extender", and use it on either the front or rear of the Jeep now.

by: Dennis11/16/2021

The front mount trailer hitch is working very well. It was easy to install, following the [online] video instructions. I plowed all my property trails several times last winter on some rugged terrain and the hitch didn't move even when I hit a stump in the snow that stopped me dead. I highly recommend this hitch.

by: Steve04/26/2020

This is the 4th time I've ordered form etrailer and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. I ordered with Stacey A. who was very courteous, polite, and knowledgeable. Ordered a front hitch for my Jeep Wrangler for a bike carrier and to attach my Warn winch. etrailer sent a video in my confirmation e-mail which was good as the provided instructions were not as clear to follow. Installed it by myself in less than an hour with no issues. Tested it by pulling my 3/4 ton Ram diesel up a 15 degree hill with the Jeep in 4 WD. NO problems. Would recommend etrailer and Curt hitch.

Works great- installed easily . Just want people to know - Jeep has two different front mounts.
My first hitch just missed from an easy install, but of course Etrailer sent me the replacement and we agreed to something in the middle for shipping the new one and then the old one back.
So I’m very pleased

Great hitch - pretty straight forward project for a do it yourselfer. Good instructions and the addition of the fish wire made pulling the hardware through the frame pretty easy. I use the hitch for a lightweight plow mount and it's been an awesome addition to my Jeep.

Do you have a question about this Snow Plow?

  • Snowbear Plow Receiver Hitch vs Custom Mount
  • The biggest difference I have seen between the two style is in the amount of play they have side to side. While it isn't a ton there is more play in the single connection point than what you will get out of the custom frame bracket types. We carry both types here but given the choice I would go with the custom bracket version. If you plan on moving it from one vehicle to another from time to time then the hitch mount is the way to go for ease of use. There is a great option with custom

  • Wiring for SnowBear Personal Snow Plow
  • According to the control box wiring diagram (see attached) 2 of the wires for the SnowBear Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches # SB324-081 go to the electric winch and 2 of them go to the battery. The only other thing that you might have is a switch for light accessories but the black wires for that setup go to ground. If none of this matches what you have then go ahead and send me a photo and/or a part number for the box you are looking at and I can see if there is anything else I can find out.
