Detail K2 Plow Length

The Detail K2 snowplow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch for fast, simple mounting. Easily raise and lower the plow from the comfort of your cab with the remote-controlled electric winch. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. A plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets ties you down to just 1 vehicle. But this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

Detail K2 Hitch Mount

To install the snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver (sold separately). Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

Detail K2 Caster Wheel

The snowplow comes with flip-down caster wheels that make the installation process even easier on you. Simply flip the wheels into position and you will be able to roll the plow into position for mounting or storage. The height of the wheels can also be adjusted to match the height of your vehicle.

How to Plow

Detail K2 Adjustable Plow Position

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or a private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

Detail K2 Wireless Remote 2.4Ghz

The plow comes with a wireless remote that allows you to stay warm and out of the elements while still effectively controlling the plow. The remote operates on a 2.4 GHz frequency, allowing it to quickly send signals to the winch without experiencing delays. And because it's wireless, you won't have to run wires through your dash. Nor will you have to leave your window cracked open in the middle of a snow storm just so that you can run a wired remote into your cab. You will be glad to have it on those cold winter days.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Easy Lifting with Electric Winch

Detail K2 Electric Winch

The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using the wireless remote control. If you prefer, you can also install the included in-cab toggle switch to control the plow. The winch uses a durable strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.

Detail K2 Features

Detail K2 Skid Shoes

The snowplow features skid shoes that allow you to adjust the height of your plow. This allows you to efficiently plow over surfaces that are uneven, such as gravel roads.

Detail K2 Blade Stiffener

Blade stiffeners, or blade support brackets, reinforce the connection between the plow and your vehicle. They add 2 additional points of contact with your hitch on either side of the plow's T-frame. This prevents stress on the frame and on your vehicle, while also strengthening the performance of the plow.

Detail K2 Trip Springs

Shock-absorbing springs allow the plow to dip forward in the event that you hit an obstruction. This flexibility protects you and your vehicle from impacts.

Decent plow for the price.

I installed
this DK2 Avalanche on a 2003 GMC Yukon 1500 with a Curt front receiver hitch 31302. If you have a side mount battery, you may need battery bolt extenders (Battery Doctor #30400) to make life easier. That said, the ring terminal connectors on the winch control box will be too small. Get ones that will fit the 3/8 inch stud and 12-10 AWG wire to replace the stock ones.

Manufacturer instructions are not very helpful, but Graz's Garage has a great install video on YouTube. He installed his on a 2020 Chevy Colorado Z71. You can always count on a gearhead from Detroit. eTrailer is awesome at responding to concerns, too, and I'm glad I bought this product from them.

by: Bill M.03/14/2021

Install went perfectly. It all bolted up just how the instructions said it would. The hardest part was navigating your tools in the tight spaces. Having the deep sockets as suggested is definitely worth it. I was also able to utilize a cordless impact wrench and it helped a ton. This will work great for our bike rack.

Bill M.

3/15/2022

Love it. It is secure and discrete and is great for a bike rack. Be cautious of what you hang up front, bikes or other types of racks might disrupt airflow into the radiator, which was expected, just keep an eye on temperature. The bolt up was secure and relatively easy.

Great front receiver hitch for my Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. Everything fit using OE bolts and nuts. Only the plastic trim had to be cut out to fit receiver. I had dealer do it, but would have done it myself when I was younger. etrailer is easy to order from and has good customer service.

by: Steve Miller01/13/2021

My plow was delivered quickly. It took a bit longer to assemble than I thought it would, but it seems pretty heavy duty and looks and works great for my 600' long driveway. It's much better and quicker than plowing with my 4 wheeler and warmer too.

This thing went on our 2013 Silverado 1ton truck without a problem. It did take two of us to hold it in
Place to get the first bolt back in but other than that it’s been flawless

Overall, my experience with etrailer was good. There was an initial delay in shipping, but once I talked to someone, everything went well. The help page was invaluable. The biggest help was the installation video. While there are slight differences between the 2011 GMC and the 2013, the process was the same. I am very pleased with the product and the support. Great product! Super easy to install! This makes my winch twice as versatile. Thanks for a design that leaves the tow hooks in the truck!

Great product...I carry bicycles on the front of truck while towing a camper. Can also carry a cargo basket or winch on the front. Love it!

Best thing for carrying bikes on front of truck!

by: Brown09/18/2023

Perfect fit for my 2012 GMC 3500. Directions are excellent. It is a tight work space for some of the bolts. I've carried a bike rack with 130 lbs of ebikes for 600 miles so far and no problems.

by: Chris z10/06/2019

Installed this hitch this morning 10/06/19. Was going to wait for help as arthritis in hands makes turn wrenches a chore but was bored so went ahead anyhow. This is my second front hitch install , first one on 2018 F-150. Today’s install on 2014 duramax 2500. Today’s install was super simple , used floor jack to hold hitch up in position, you need to remove four bolts on each side , I did try air tools on the 21mm bolts but not powerful enough so used small piece of copper pipe over wrench handle for leverage to loosen, air tools were able to loosen the six 18mm bolts , took me about an hour and a half by myself. The fit of the hitch was absolutely perfect! Had to cut a small piece of the air dam at bottom of bumper, used a hacksaw, very easy. The quality and coating on the hitch is top notch.

Excellent fit & function delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Although this shot is at our current campground in NJ, the hitch will be used to park my boat in its hard-to-get-to parking spot. Great job, Etrailer!

The hitch has worked out just fine for a variety of uses. I have always been impressed by all the _towing_ related articles purchased from etrailer.

Great product, easy to install. Had to cut the air-dam but no other alterations needed. It is a little low but no more so than the front of the truck air dam.

I use a motorcycle carrier on the front for my 125 scooter while pulling my fifth wheel. It is very secure and the finish has held up fine. I would recommend this purchase.

by: Robert 10/24/2023

I watched the attachment on how to install and video was spot on. The hitch is very well made. I'll enjoy this for years to come. Thank you

2013 ChevroletSilverado

As always, delivery was quick. Hitch was easy to install and works nice. We do a lot of camping and since very few of the travel trailer manufacturers recommend a trailer hitch (some will tell you it voids your warranty), we can carry our bikes up front with this hitch.

Excellent! As with every product i have purchased thru etrailer.

by: Will 11/12/2022

Plow seems to be of good quality, wont know till I actually use it, how good it is. Seems sturdy enough to do the job, assembly was very straight forward.
My only complaint is etrailer left me dangling for a month with no updates on my order status, even after chatting with one of their customer service people.
I ended up contacting DK2 to get a ship date.

by: Timothy11/14/2021

Fit and finish is great and installation was fairly simple with the right tools.

by: C.09/24/2020

I ordered a front hitch mount for our RV. Product is very heavy duty and priced right! I ordered on a Friday afternoon and had my part by Tuesday, very impressed. Will surely use this company in the future.

C.

The hitch mount has worked great. Knowing it was machined for pick up trucks, I had no problem installing on a Freightliner chassis. Had to drill a few holes and fabricated a additional brace out of some angle iron for added piece of mind. I have no concerns about the sturdiness and integrity when using this mount.

by: Ed C08/05/2019

Installed on my 2012 Silverado 2500HD and it fit perfectly and was very easy to install. Cut my lower cowling to allow the hitch to protrude and it looks awesome! Very glad I purchased your product and would highly recommend to everyone!!

8/6/2020

Still Rocking!I have used this many times and it is still a great product!

by: William07/24/2018

very sturdy product; installation was straight forward exactly as instructions indicated. I had planned to haul motorcycle on this front mount hitch with a carrier meant for a rear receive hitch. While i have not done so yet (lighting issues i need to resolve), this receiver will do the job. I also plan on picking up a receiver mount for a winch which could come in handy. Shipping was fast from etrailer. Overall great product and great service! I got just what I expected from the description.

1995 Ford F-250 and F-350

Haven't had to use it yet but arrived when expected and easy to assemble and looks very easy to use. Would definitely recommend buying from etrailer.com

by: Dave T.09/20/2015

Exact fit. Took less than 30 minutes to install in my shop and used all of the factory attaching hardware. If your truck is equipped with the second lower plastic deflector, approximately 3" long, you'll need to trim a 2 3/4" square out dead center for the tube to clear. I've installed several RV accessories over the years and I want to thank you for taking the time to get the fit correct. Time is money and your product is spot on. I would recommend this to anyone looking to install a hitch to the front of their truck for a bike rack or to make moving a trailer around in a crowded yard a breeze.

  • Differences Between Detail K2 and Detail K2 Elite Snow Plows For a 2003 Toyota Tacoma
  • Yes, the difference between the Detail K2 Snowplow # K2AVAL8422 and Detail K2 Elite Snowplow # K2AVAL8422ELT is the Elite has the electric actuator over the winch. The Elite also uses a chain connection to the blade while the basic K2 has a strap that is more likely to become damaged. The electric actuator is superior to the winch. It operates faster, smoother and it has a built in clutch that will protect against damage that a winch would cause. The actuator won't be able to lift the blade

  • Comparing the Curt Front Hitch Part # C31023 and Draw-Tite Front Hitch for a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500
  • The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31023 which is a fit for a 2012 GMC Sierra 2500 will hang down further than the other option we have for you which is the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65078 excluding Denali. This means that there will be much less trimming required to clear the lower bumper valance in order to make it work. Please note that the above hitch is only tested on stock vehicle's without a lift or bull bar. You will need to take a

  • Recommendation for Transporting 420 Pound Sportbike While Towing 5th Wheel Trailer
  • Going with a front mounted hitch and a heavy duty carrier for your sportbike is really the only option for transporting your bike while towing a 5th wheel trailer. The motorcycle carriers we currently have available are not rated for use behind a trailer, so this will be the best solution. For your 2013 Chevy Silverado, I recommend the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31023. This hitch will provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening and has a 500 pound vertical load capacity.

  • Best Front Receiver Hitch for 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500
  • My best recommendation for a front receiver hitch for your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD is the Curt Front Hitch # C31023. This will go on behind your bumper. You may need to trim the bumper fascia around the bottom a little bit depending on how the hitch sits, but just enough to make room around the hitch receiver tube. Once you have that installed, we also have other accessories you may want to use with it like a winch mounting plate # BDW20011.

  • Front Hitch For Carrying Canoes On A 2012 GMC Sierra 2500HD 4x4
  • In addition to the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31023 for your 2012 GMC Sierra, you are correct that you will also need at least a single roof rack bar like the Darby Turbo rack # DTA968 and a carrier like the LongArm # Y01149-1150 that can tilt down making it easier to load the canoe. It also has an anti-rattle hitch bolt which is something that is needed for these types of carriers. Without an anti-rattle hitch bolt or device there is a lot of movement with these carriers. For

  • Can Front-Mount Trailer Hitch Be Installed On 2013 Chevrolet Silverado With Grille Guard Installed
  • The front-mount trailer hitches we offer for your 2013 Silverado require removing the tow hooks and then re-installing them after the hitch has been installed. This same location is used by some of the grille guards we offer so you can check out the attached installation instructions for the Curt Hitch, part # C31023 to see if the grille guard you have would interfere with the hitch installation. Our manufacturers say they have not tested the installation of their hitches with the grille

  • Will Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch 31023 Fit a 2011 GMC Sierra Denali 2500
  • The Curt front mount trailer hitch # C31023 does not exclude the Denali models of the 2011 GMC Sierra. However, because of the different front fascia on Denali models you may need to do some extensive trimming to install the hitch. On non-Denali models you would only need to trim a small area, see the instructions I have linked, but on a Denali model, more of the fascia structure would require trimming to fit. I have also included a link to a video showing a typical installation for you.

  • Front Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • The only front hitch I can safely recommend for you 2012 Chevy Silverado 3500 would be one that is confirmed to fit your vehicle like the Curt Front Hitch part # C31023. I looked up the dry weight for your Suzuki Burgman and it would be too much for this hitch and any other front hitch available for your vehicle. The # C31023 that you referenced has a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs.
