Question:

What DK2 Snow Plow would you recommend for my 2000 Dodge Dakota V8 Magnum engine? I am deciding between the 82inch x 19inch Rampage with Custom Mount, or the 84inch x 22inch Avalanche with Universal Mount. Im not sure one mount style is better than the other. Thank you.

For a 2000-2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4, I recommend the Detail K2 Avalanche Snowplow part # K2AVAL8422 with the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 31080 over the Detail K2 Rampage II Snowplow with the Custom Mounting Brackets for Detail K2 Snowplows part # K284134 for two reasons.

The first reason is that the Detail K2 Avalanche has a has a much higher winch capacity of 3,000 lbs than the Detail K2 Rampage II which is only rated at 1,500 lbs. The higher rated the winch, the longer it will last so the slightly more expensive option would be well worth it as the winch is typically the first thing you have to repair/replace.

The second reason is that the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver which is used for the Detail K2 Avalanche is much more universal than then the Custom Mounting Brackets which is used for the Detail K2 Rampage II. The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver can be used for several other purposes whereas the Custom Mounting Brackets can only be used for one.

Please note, the snowplows are both heavy so you will need something to help the truck bear this extra weight and the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System part # TDDF974A is just what you need for this.
