Pick what suits your setup: electric locks that secure the handle or manual locks that secure the tailgate to the truck. Some let you set the cylinder to your ignition key for one-key convenience. Installation is straightforward with video guidance; plan extra time if a power kit requires routing wiring up to the firewall.
Some locks allow setting the cylinder to match your ignition key. Follow the key setting steps in the kit to pair it. For lost keys, use the number stamped on the face of the lock cylinder to request a replacement key from the lock's manufacturer. If that's not possible, a locksmith can open it so you can swap in a replacement cylinder.
Installation is typically straightforward and can be done in under an hour. Video guides make it easier when printed instructions are minimal or use small font.
