Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The Swagman XTC bike rack is quality. I had the rack assembled and placed on my 2017 Ford Escape in less than an hour. Assembly instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. Placing two bikes on the rack requires some adjustments. My Trek Silque road bike and Specialized Rockhopper fit well. Once the adjustments are made you won't have to make them again unless you're racking different bikes. Sturdiness is great. Front to back sway is nonexsistent while side to side sway is minimal. I've driven my bikes around quite a bit with no problems. Locking the rack to the hitch is an ongoing process. Right now Im using a small padlock where the hitch pin goes, but will probably go with the locking hitch that is available for the rack. Love this rack. One important issue. I was considering a hanging rack, but these racks don't always work well with women's frames since the frame needs to straight across to work best. This platform rack has worked best for me.
Just purchased the XTC for my new 2012 Ford Escape. Easy installation, minimal assembly. The assembly is a very sturdy platform for transporting bicycles. Excellent bike rack for the price! Had to go purchase an additional 1/2 inch lock washer which allows easier access to bolt head when mounting to the 1-1/4 hitch.

Easy to install, secure. Very pleased ! Perfect of my Ford Escape. I can mount it and the bike unassisted. My brother recommended it because he has had his for several years and loves it ! He purchased his from etrailer.com also.
I love my etrailer bike rack. I have a Ford Escape, and I had to go to UHaul to get a hitch installed, but that was a good experience, although expensive. (Cost more than the etrailer!) After getting the hitch, it just takes about two minutes to put the etrailer rack on and load the bikes. I'm a little old lady, but I have no problem doing it myself. The etrailer gives me the freedom to explore all the rail trails in my area without having to rely on anyone else. Also, if you are concerned about it being stolen while you are out on the trail, it removes quickly and easily to fit inside the locked car.

Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Hanging Style
Could not be happier with the product and the service - moving from LA to Portland and we couldn't fit the bikes in the pod - so etrailer came to the rescue!
I assembled the Thule Passage 2 trunk bike rack but have not yet used it on the road. The Instructions for assembling the rack were very poorly written and presented. The drawings did not look like the parts in the box and Some items were listed but not in the box AND some items were not marked properly on the instructions diagram! Good grief! Get a proof reader! I hope the rack works better than the Instructions did.

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
I have a 2003 Ford Escape and it fit perfectly! East to use and my bike is safe and secure. The only thing was it was recommended that I buy an extra bar if I had a girls bike - this was not needed for the kind of bike I have.
The rack arrived in a timely manner. Installation was easy. The unit seems very sturdy, but I have yet to take it foe a spin.

Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
So far really great! I love the stability my bike has on the rack, fit for my 2021 Honda Civic, and the quality of the material engineered into the design to prevent damage to the cars paint/parts.

2015 Ford EscapePut rack on my 2015 Ford Escape and when I tried to open the rear door the clamps bent the door metal. I cannot use this on my car . The brackets are to thick to fit into the openings, both top and bottom The bike rack is useless on my car as it was sent to me
Once I found online measurements and youtube videos, it was easy to install. My bike is a girls bike without the straight bar from seat to handlebars and I didn't need additional the product they said may be required. The bumper of my 2016 Escape is plastic and the hatch door has no lip to hold the clamp for the bottom straps. I attached the clamp to the metal bracket that attaches the bumper to the car. I'm happy with this product and look forward to biking other places rather than around my block.

Yakima HangOut 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
2013 Ford EscapeGot this for our 2013 Ford Escape for a 4 hour trip we were making on roads varying from highway to back roads. The installation is easy if you take the time to plan out the straps and follow the directions. Lots of rubber and padding to keep from scratching the car. It seemed pretty solid even with the sway. It was a little weird when we tightened things down the top bar came off the glass. It didn't affect the performance, but it did make for a little concern going down the road. If we loosened things up to keep the bar on the glass it was too loose to prevent sway.
I cannot comment on use of it because I just bought it. However, I’m concerned with car scratches, and one of hooks sits rather tightly in the seam of my 2014 Ford Escape’s hatchback. It is doubtful I can put a protective material in with the hook, so am searching for some type of tape material to assist. Otherwise, testing it out, it seems secure on the car, and the quality of the product seems high. I am very impressed with e trailer’s service and website.

Then rack seems sturdy, but I was shorted on lock nuts for the bolts so I'll have to go pick some up. But the fast shipped it to me without any extra charge.
Great product for the price. Pretty easy to set up. Only issue I have is my mountain bike, which is an XL frame with 27 inch wheels, is pushing the limits of the base. Wish this rack was just 4-5 inches longer that way you have the perfect overlap amount in the middle without pushing the current frame to the limits. With that said it does hold my bike just have to find the sweet spot. But this fits my son’s youth bike perfectly!

Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Rack is very sturdy and heavy duty. Instructions were terrible. Locking hitch pin would not thread correctly and ended up damaging it. Thankfully the threads on rack were fine and I was able to use the non-locking threaded pin. Would like a replacement locking pin ASAP
For the price, it's a good-quality, sturdy bike rack. I have used it about 5-7 times with no issues. I only used it for one adult and two kids' bikes, but I am sure it can handle four bikes as advertised. It's great that the rack folds upwards when it's not required.

Kuat Beta Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
I love how easy this was to set up and how easy it connects to the hitch. And because it's so lightweight, I can easily install it myself.
Solid rack. Straps do a nice job keeping both bikes in place. I use additional bungee cords to leave no doubt. This is a great bike rack and I do recommend it even without the use of additional straps. Fits great into the hitch and the tightener works amazing.

It's gonna be a platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 35 pounds each. And it's going to be holding onto our bike primarily by these rotated padded clamps that go up and down our center mast. They do swivel and they are padded, but we still don't recommend using bikes like carbon frame bikes because it could potentially damage the frame as that's where our main point of contact is. And it's also gonna hold on with two straps, one on the back and one on the front wheel.

Our Thule Helium Pro is going to allow us to carry two bikes in the back of our Escape and alleviate the problems of trying to cram our bikes into the back hatch or having to reach way above our heads to put our bikes on top of the roof. It's going to be a lot easier and a lot safer getting our bikes to and from the trails.Our bike is going to be held down by three points of contact. We're going to have two on the top cross tube here, then we're going to have one on the vertical support and that's going to help keep it from swaying too much and prevent any kind of bike to bike contact. If we come to the cradle, we'll just push in on the button and we can start feeding the strap through.Once we have all the straps loosened, we can take our bike off and we'll set it aside for right now.

Hey everyone, today we have a 2018 Ford Escape and we're going to do a test with it of the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE two electric bike rack. Now this bike rack has been designed to be able to haul up to two electric bikes weighing up to 80 pounds each to and from your destination. It has a nice sturdy steel construction, it's got reinforcement so that it can handle the weight of your e-bikes while taking those impacts and vibrations at high speeds.Now, a really cool feature about this bike rack is that when it's loaded, you can tilt it away from the vehicle. And how we're going to do that is there's a safety pin on the bottom we have to pull. It's going to be just a snapper pin once we pull that off. You might have to lift up on the bike rack just a little bit.
Is the Thule Helium Pro Bike Rack for 3 Bikes Compatible with the 2018 Ford Escape?
Hey everyone, today, we have a 2018 Ford Escape, and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Helium Pro 3-bike hanging- style rack. Now this bike rack is going to be able to haul up to three bikes to and from the trails. It's been designed to be very lightweight, comes in at just about 20 pounds. So it's going to be very lightweight, easy to handle, you not going to have to struggle getting it into your hitch, risk straining your back with some of those heavier platform-style racks that you might run into. It's going to have an onboard cable lock, which comes from the base, pulled out from here, comes over the frame of your bikes and then locks into that spot. You use your key, lock it up and then unlock it when you want to unload your bikes.

Now, if you do have it fully loaded with two 80-pound e-bikes, I would suggest maybe getting an extra set of hands to do this just because that weight could be a little bit dangerous to handle by yourself.
Is the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes Compatible with the 2018 Ford Escape?
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Ford Escape we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Ridgeback four bike rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number Y02458. We already have a bike installed on our rack, so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Starting with our arms here, at the ends of both of our arms we're going to have the patented Yakima bottle openers. The cradles themselves are going to be stationary, meaning they can't move back and forth, but they do have this TPE padding, which is actually going to act as a shock absorber while you're driving, so when you hit those bumps, it's going to help protect the frame of your bike. Also, the bottoms of our zip strips here are also padded.On the back side of our mast here is this plastic piece. Now, since this doesn't come with any locks to speak of, you do have options where you can remove this plastic piece here and replace it with a Yakima handcuff integrated cable lock, which you can find on eTrailer.com.Now, the bike is held into place, we're going to have three points of contact.

Let's go ahead and take a closer look here. Probably one of the more interesting features about this bike rack is how it can tilt away from the vehicle to gain rear hatch access, but you can keep all four bikes on, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. Usually you would have to take out all the bikes and tilt it away that way, or by a swinging bike rack that swings out completely with all four bikes still attached to get to the rear hatch.But with this one it's a very easy operation. You come to the back side here and there's this trigger or latch right here.
