  • Wiring Installation Instructions for Hopkins LED-Compatible Tail Light Converter # HM48895
  • The trailer wiring harness you referenced, Hopkins # HM48895, is intended for vehicles that use LED taillights which draw relatively little power as compared to standard incandescent lights. I do not believe that your 1995 Ford Explorer came equipped with LED-type lighting and this harness is not among those recommended for your vehicle. The red wire on this harness does connect to the brake light circuit as you noted in the instructions. You can identify which wire at your Explorer's...

  • Brakes, Hubs, and 7-Way Plug for Viking Popup Camper
  • We can most likely help with what you need but we need more info from you to pick out what you need. For hub/drum replacements I need to get the bearing numbers from your old hubs or the dimensions of the spindle on your trailer axle. From there we will be able to determine which brake assemblies you'd need. Then for wheel and tires I need the bolt pattern of your wheels and the tire size that's on the sidewall as well. Do you have a 4-way or a 7-way connector?

  • Do Curt and Draw-Tite Hitches for 2017 Ford Explorer Use Door in Bumper Fascia Like Factory Hitch
  • None of the hitches we offer for the 2017 Ford Explorer would install so that the receiver tube extends through the bumper like the factory hitch would. The hitches offered by our suppliers would install so that the receiver tube would sit directly under the bumper, like the Curt # C13386 shown in the provided photo. Once the hitch is installed, it wouldn't interfere with the door in the bumper face. An aftermarket hitch like the Curt # C13386 is typically much less expensive and the install...

  • Where Is the Brake Controller Plug On a 2019 Ford Explorer
  • The brake controller port on a 2019 Ford Explorer should be located behind the glove box on the passenger side or underneath and left of the steering column near the emergency brake pedal. • Why are Diodes Needed for Lighting when Flat Towing a Vehicle
  • When a vehicle is being towed it cannot operate its own lights. The diodes are a gateway with 2 inputs and one output. One input is the regular wiring on the vehicle. The other input is from the RV. Since vehicles being flat towed will not have working lights they will have to get power to function from the RV. The diodes allow for 2 inputs so that you don't have to disconnect the vehicle lights to plug in power wires from the RV. The tow vehicle lighting system only matters if the tow...
