The difference between the Class II and Class III hitches has to do with their Gross Trailer Weight (GTW), their Tongue Weight (TW), and their Hitch Receiver Size. Class II trailer hitch receivers have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and can be rated up to 3,500 lbs in GTW and up to 525 lbs in TW. Class III, on the other hand, have a 2 inch receiver and have up to 8,000 lbs GTW and 800 lbs TW. I will attach a help article that goes in to more detail for you.

Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out!
I recommend going with the Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Roof Rack which comes in Gray # KU33VR as well as Black # KU53VR.
This kayak carrier system looks really sleek when folded in the "stored" position, but it's also the only J-Style cradle that comes with T-Slot mounting hardware like what you're wanting to use.
Attached is a review video for your reference. view full answer...
Hello David. The Go Power Solar AE-4 All Electric System with MPPT Solar Controller # 342-75010 is a full solar kit. So you can use it, and you will be replacing your current solar setup with the new controller, panels, remote ect...
This kit can work with up to 6 panels so you can use your current 2 as well as the 4 that come with the kit, provided there is room on your roof. If you already have the cables for your current panels, there is nothing else you need to buy separately.

Hi Erin,
We unfortunately do not have an installation video for the # ETBC7 kit in a Mazda CX-5 but the process is going to be the same for each car. I typically start by mounting the # ETBC7 to the trailer hitch crosstube with a no-drill mounting bracket. With your crosstube being hidden behind the fascia you'll want the long bracket # 18136 and need to face it down. You can either have the 7-way face down or you can stick it in a vice and bend the 7-way side of the bracket up so that... view full answer...
Hey Cheryl, congrats on the new car. The wheel trays are a bit different on the Saris SuperClamp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes item # SAR84YR. If you have a 29" tire they're 3" wide but if you have a 27-1/2" or smaller tire they're 4-1/2" wide. This bike rack accommodates bikes weighing up to 60 lbs a piece and wheelbases that are 28" to 52" wide.
The Saris SuperClamp item # SAR84YR will not stick out past the sides of your CX-5 when folded up. I have attached a picture below of this bike rack... view full answer...
Hello Paul, thanks for reaching out. The etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98902 has a standard 5/8" hitch pin hole. Any hitch pin for a 2" hitch should be this same 5/8" diameter.
That diameter is very common. A hitch pin such as part # e98881 is what I recommend to go with the # e98902 hitch.
What hitch pin did you buy? Was it not a 5/8" diameter pin? view full answer...
Hey Michael, so to install a 7-way on your 2019 Mazda CXC-5 you'd need to first start with a 4-way kit like the Tekonsha part # 118746 which is custom fit and very reliable. This covers the taillight functions of the trailers and is ready to be used with a 7-way adapter like the # 37185.
If the trailer has brakes that need to be operated as well you'd instead need the 7-way adapter part # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the P3 part # 90195 instead of the 37185. The ETBC7 comes with the... view full answer...
Hello Andrew,
Great question. When installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76138 the extra fascia piece does NOT get reinstalled. I attached an image of the piece I believe you are referring to, if it is a different piece please let me know.
What do you plan on using the hitch for? view full answer...
Hey Larry, for your 2022 Mazda CX-5 I would recommend the etrailer hitch part # e98902 as it's mostly hidden with only the hitch opening hanging below the rear bumper and also it has great towing capacities. Will you be towing a trailer or is this for like a bike rack? view full answer...
Hey Gene! There's nothing on the market that's going to fit all of your requests but I've got one that's pretty close. The highest capacity 4-bike bike rack is going to be the Benton Shifts & Grins item # B82FR. It has a 55 lbs capacity for every bike on the rack, not just the front two. This isn't a common feature amongst 4-bike bike racks. Typically the back two are limited to 35 lbs - 40 lbs. You are going to have to remove your batteries and get your bike's below the 55 lbs limit.

Hey there Moyer, that's a great question, but I don't know why your dealer was telling you that. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C45FV does not require flashing or reprogramming after installation, and we haven't had any customers come back and say they needed to do so. You can see in the installation video I linked below, the process is straight forward and plug and play, without any cutting or modification to your OEM wiring. Let me know if you have any other questions or... view full answer...
Hello Paul,
Congrats on the New 2025 Mazda CX-5! What is your favorite new feature?
I have the perfect rack for you, it fits into your mounting points on your roof, and will have a little bit of an overhang.
You will want the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points - Aluminum - Black - Qty 2 # TH23GA

Josh, it looks like your Mazda is about 70" wide and about 90" long, so something like the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Roof Tray # RR79AP would be the largest platform rack you could use.
This platform rack measures 71" long x 56" wide, and has integrated t-slots so you can attach roof rack accessories.
This rack does require crossbars, so if you don't have any yet you'd need to add some with:
- Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points # RR92NP for a naked roof,

Hi Richard,
The Tekonsha # 118563 shouldn't be able to pull enough to drain your battery within 10 minutes unless it has a wire shorting to something else but you'd likely find something very hot or smell something burning. I definitely think you have a wiring issue but without actually looking I can't confirm that the wire harness is the culprit. I would doublecheck the wiring to see if anything is brittle, burned up, or nicked and that each wire is making a secure connection.

Hey Mike, for an easy to get off and on roof rack that fits your 2023 Mazda CX-5 I would recommend the Yakima Sightline Roof Rack part # Y76TB. Yakima makes the highest quality roof racks and we found that they are also the easiest to install and remove. Do you have a kayak carrier picked out already? view full answer...
Hey Kody, thank you for the picture of your roof setup. Based on seeing that you would need a naked roof style roof rack from Inno which we have with the part # IN95PR. It is odd that you have what looks like factory fixed points but that type of fixed point is not one we have a roof rack for. view full answer...
Hello Beth,
Wow, that is a REALLY NICE bike!!
I'm so glad you reached out. We definitely have a rack that will work for you, and you're absolutely right to be concerned about compatibility with the Thule Verse Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # TH64SA. Unfortunately, that rack won't work with your Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5.0 because the front fender interferes with the wheel mount system.
Instead, I recommend the Thule Epos Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches... view full answer...
Hey Patrick, thanks for the pictures! I recommend checking to see if Mazda included the towing fuses on your 2024 CX-5. The foreign manufacturer's have been shipping out newer vehicles without these fuses to save on overall costs. You'll want to look under your fuse box at the key and see if all the towing fuse locations are full. The Curt Wiring Harness item # C45FV shouldn't have any issues work with LED's assuming it's being supplied power.
If that isn't the problem you'll want to... view full answer...
Hello Bob.
Yes, installing the fold away behind the winch will not be an issue, main thing is to not go back further than what is recommended on the chart which goes by the Gross Trailer Weight Rating. I looked up the specs on the Continental JB127 and your gross trailer weight rating is 1,550 lbs, so you can put it at the max point of 48" back from the ball. I have included an image to show how to measure. view full answer...
