Hi Rick; the tongue weight capacity of the # DT52GR is 300 lbs. If you use a cargo carrier, bike rack, other accessories, or tow a trailer with a standard ball mount it will be the same 300 lb capacity. If the accessory or ball mount has an extended shank that won't reduce the capacity.

The only hitch that is designed to fit the 2024 Kona is the # C39RV which doesn't fit the N Line models. I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2019 Hyundai Kona and you are correct that they do not recommend towing a trailer with this vehicle, even if it is the EV model. Although the word "recommend" hints that you still can, I wouldn't do so as Hyundai has tested the limits of the vehicle and they don't think it is wise to tow a trailer.

Hi Daniel; that information is a good start and with a little more I can help you find the best ball mount to tow a U-Haul trailer. Based on how low the 2020 Kona sits I'm sure you need a ball mount with a few inches of rise.

2 inch trailer hitches are typically only made for vehicles with higher towing capacities like trucks and SUVs. Since your 2018 Hyundai Kona is a lighter duty vehicle there are only 1-1/4 inch hitches made for it like the Curt # C11529 that you referenced.
