With a short bed truck it's definitely recommended that you use an offset ball to try and prevent the nose of the trailer from contacting the cab of the truck when making tight turns. The Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # GY83XR provides a 5" offset so you're correct in choosing it.
The Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP85FR should clear the tailgate without a problem, but you may still have issues with turning clearance even with offset ball. Newer... view full answer...
For your companion hitch the replacement pivot arms are now only available with the base which for your model 3000 is # BWRVB3500. I'm not sure what u-bolts you are referring to, so I assume it is the chains and that is part # BW1900-2-1600. If you are looking for the saddle pin, that is # BW3025-119A. view full answer...
There's a few differences.
• The Curt # C31017 is manufactured in the US, while the Draw-Tite # 65046 is manufactured in Mexico.
• When installed, the Curt hitch will sit higher on the vehicle for more ground clearance. The underside of the
receiver tube will sit even with the bottom of the fascia under the bumper. The fascia will need to be notched so
the receiver can pass through it. Unless you're planning on carrying something very heavy on the front of the
truck like a generator... view full answer...
Hey Don,
Curt does have a Class V hitch for your Ram but it sits super low so it's not going to be what you want. Draw-Tite offers Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT45509. It has a 2-1/2" receiver tube opening, 18,000lb gross towing weight/2,000lb tongue weight capacities, and the receiver tube sits right up against the bumper. I've attached a picture of the Draw-Tite hitch and Curt hitch # C15809 to show you the difference in height.
Let me know what you think and if this isn't the right fit... view full answer...
When wiring up the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08771 the main/first battery will connect directly to position one on the isolator without the need for a circuit breaker. The second battery though should be attached to the second position on the isolator via a circuit breaker that is rated appropriately for the battery. The alternator will go to the A post on the isolator.
I have attached a diagram that you might find helpful as well.
You should not have to worry about the second battery... view full answer...
Hello again John; when First Brands took over as the parent company for Bargman they discontinued most of their lights. That includes the direct replacement for the 30-91-010 and 30-91-011. Typically we recommend the the Peterson Trailer Tail Light # V457 and # V457L to replace these. However, they do not have a backup light function.
The next best thing is the Optronics LED RV Tail Light # OPT34KB and # OPT54KB. These have a smaller profile at 8" long x 4" tall x 1-1/2" deep and have... view full answer...

Hi Mike; I noticed you were looking at a B&W 5th wheel hitch. Is your gooseneck hitch the B&W Turnoverball? The hole for the ball would be square if it is. If so, you can use the B&W Companion # BWRVK3400-5W. However, this is a heavy sucker so not exactly the most manageable for one person.
The Andersen Aluminum Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection 2 Gooseneck # 3220 will also work (works with any brand gooseneck hitch). This hitch is incredibly light with the base at 35 lbs so that sounds more... view full answer...
The B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3200, Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16120, and Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30047 all have fully articulating hitch heads so there won't be much of a difference in hitching/unhitching at an angle. I recommend the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16120 over the others for a few different reasons.
The first of which is that the A16 has 1" thick, dual interlocking jaws which will do a phenomenal job of reducing... view full answer...
The front mount hitches we have available for your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 (Curt # C31017 and Draw-Tite # 65046) will both mount under the bumper, which I have examples of in an included picture. With that said, we do not have an option that will mount up at the tow hooks, unfortunately.
Both of these hitches are rated to 9,000 pounds of line pull, but the Draw-Tite # 65046 is rated to 500 of tongue/vertical load, which will be higher than the Curt's 350 pound capacity. Between the two, I... view full answer...

Converter output is typically talked about in amperage and not wattage. Your 6325 would indicate that you have a 6300 model panel with a 25 amp converter. You can replace just the converter if you don't want to replace the whole panel or you can replace the entire panel with the Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 35 amp # PD4135K you were looking at.
My recommendation is to replace the entire panel as this one comes with a better... view full answer...
Thanks so much for that info, and to replace your current leaf springs that are 24 inches apart from center eye to center eye, you want springs that are slightly shorter because over time they flatten out. So for replacements I recommend 23-1/8" long springs:
- 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 23-1/8" Long # e59SR
Then to replace your equalizer with a MORryde equalizer, you'll want to measure your axle from center to center, which will be your wheelbase, and the correct... view full answer...
Installing a 4,000 lb capacity leaf spring on a trailer with a 3,500 lb capacity axle will make the suspension stiffer which could then in turn minimize the risk of the axle contacting the frame. However, this is not what I recommend to fix your problem. Instead, I recommend using the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-106-40 which will provide you with a rubber bumper between the suspension and frame as you can see in the attached photo. They will not produce a continuous rough... view full answer...
For your 2007 HS ADMIRAL SVE, your Hidden Hitch receiver sounds like it is capable of towing your trailer. The rated 5,000 lb capacity is without weight distribution, but from my research it is rated for 6,000 lbs with weight distribution just like the Curt # C13701. If you are needing a weight distribution system for this hitch receiver you likely will need a system rated for 15% of your total trailer weight. That puts you around 540 lbs roughly. You want a system that falls in the... view full answer...
The Ram OEM 5th wheel puck system, shown in the linked photo and article, was launched in 2013 so what you have in your truck is likely to be an aftermarket installation of some kind. These newer Ram trucks with the factory prep can directly accept a specialized 5th wheel hitch such as the B&W # BWRVK3600 or the Curt # C16545-16021. Such hitches drop right into those factory pucks, allowing you to completely remove the hitch for a clear bed when necessary for cargo.
