When wiring up the Deka Battery Isolator # DW08771 the main/first battery will connect directly to position one on the isolator without the need for a circuit breaker. The second battery though should be attached to the second position on the isolator via a circuit breaker that is rated appropriately for the battery. The alternator will go to the A post on the isolator.
I have attached a diagram that you might find helpful as well.
You should not have to worry about the second battery... view full answer...
I reached out to my contact at Demco and he said that the Kar Kaddy SS # DM9713045 can be assembled by 1 person and that it typically takes about 3-4 hours. If you are a retired auto mechanic then it will likely be on the lower end as you have experience with this kind of stuff. I have attached the installation details for you to check out.
It does come with all of the parts you need (aside from tools) but you will need to purchase brake fluid separately.
The tires come mounted on the... view full answer...
The bolts required to install the Demco 50-Degree A Frame Trailer Coupler # DM13205-95 are 3/8" diameter x 1-3/4" long Grade 5 bolts. I spoke with the manufacturer and they confirmed that you won't want to use Grade 8 bolts on this install since they won't provide enough flex and may end up shearing through the coupler frame or breaking off completely. view full answer...
The Bargman 84-Series Tail Light # 30-84-104 and similar replacement tail lights that have an amber lens should be mounted with the amber lens to the outside edge of the RV as you did. The white wire is ground, the black wires are for stop/turn signals and the green wire is for the running/tail light signal. Please refer to the linked video for more information. view full answer...
If your trailer has 7 wires running all the way back to the brakes, then yes, you can tap into the existing wiring. Each of your new brakes will have two wires for the brake magnet. One wire is for 12 volt power to the brake magnets and the other wire should be grounded either to the trailer frame or to the main trailer ground wire. It does not matter which wire is used for power or ground because they are not polarized.
If the trailer wiring is running down the left side of the trailer,... view full answer...
Your dealer should be able to provide the details you're looking for based on the VIN. I'd agree, since that fuse is installed, you very likely have the factory 7-way tow package.
Although most 1997 Dodge Ram trucks will have the connector under the dash, not all of them will. If present, the connector will be located atop or next to the white rectangular box on the firewall behind the emergency brake pedal, as shown in the provided photo.

Your 2004 Dodge should have the connector if the 4-pole connector was factory installed, but it might be a bit tricky to locate.
Behind the emergency brake pedal on the firewall is a white junction box. The blue connector you are looking for is located above the junction box, and is sometimes actually pinned to the top of the box. You might need to give the connector a tug to get it free. The connector is sometimes hidden by the wires entering the top of the box, so sometimes you will... view full answer...
The wires exiting the rear of your controller serve the following functions. The blue wires carries the brake output from the controller, the white wire is the ground, the black wire supplies 12 Volt power, and the red wire is tied into the vehicle brake wiring. If the wiring adapter you have is an aftermarket harness, it should wire up color for color. To the right I have attached a picture of a diagram of how brake controllers wire to tow vehicles.
To be safe, I would suggest using a... view full answer...
You should not need any extra fuses. Trucks like the Dodge Ram 2500 are built for towing and should have enough power on those circuits. First I would wire the lights to the trailer and worry about the 6-Way last.
I would wire the lights with the standard color code. That way if you sell the trailer or have to work on the wiring in the future, it is done in the standard method. The white wire is ground and should be attached securely to the trailer frame. It is best to have direct contact... view full answer...
The connector you are looking for will be located taped to another larger wiring harness just to the right and above the emergency brake pedal, as shown in the photo I have edited for you.
You can confirm that this is the correct connector by testing it with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. One pin should show a constant 12-volt power supply, another should show voltage only when the brake pedal is pressed.
Unfortunately, my contact at Tekonsha was not able to shed any light on... view full answer...
I spoke with a colleague who worked at Chrysler and he stated that they do not put the trailer hitch and 7-Way wiring on the Grand Caravan at the factory. That is something that the dealer installs. In any event here is what you will need to do. The brake controller will need to be hardwired into the vehicle.
The white wire on the brake controller will need to get connected directly to the negative terminal on the vehicle battery. The black wire will need to connect to a 30 amp circuit... view full answer...
On the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 that came with either a factory 4-Way or 7-Way trailer connector the receptacle to plug in a brake controller with a harness such as # 3020-P will either be on top of or along the side of a white rectangular box back along the firewall to the right of the emergency brake pedal. I have included a picture showing this for you. The factory plug is blue.
If your Ram did not come with a factory installed 4- or 7-Way trailer wiring harness then it is possible that... view full answer...
I have included a picture that shows how the switch # LG-145236 will attach to the motor and battery. The switch pink wire will go to the positive battery terminal. Then there is a black wire for the ground that will go to the negative battery terminal and ground to the trailer frame. The red wire will attach to the red wire on the motor and the other black wire to the black wire on the motor. view full answer...
Easiest way to determine if your 2005 Dodge Dakota has the wiring needed to install a 7-way like the part # HM42190 would be to look behind the rear bumper for the square connector that this plugs into. I attached a picture of what the connector looks like. view full answer...
Your yellow/brown wire most likely ties into the brown running light wire. Typically, when a trailer has a green/brown wire and a yellow/brown wire, they are both used for the running light circuit. The green/brown wire is ran down the right side of the trailer and the yellow/brown wire is ran down the left side of the trailer for the tail lights and marker lights. This prevents the need from running jumper wires across the trailer for the running lights. If your trailer is setup this way,... view full answer...
According to the install instructions for the Tekonsha 7-way part # TK22113 that fits your 2018 Dodge Durango the blue wire gets routed through the grommet in the floor on the driver side into the rear cargo area and then routed behind side cargo trim panels and above head liner where you'll locate a white wire with a yellow stripe which it connects to.
I also attached a couple pictures that show where you'll find the connection point as well. view full answer...
The B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer part # BWGNRK1313 which is a fit for a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 will position the hitch ball so that it is 45-1/2" back from the edge of the bed on short beds and 47-1/2" on long beds. This location is not adjustable and is designed for optimal towing. view full answer...
I have included a link to the installation instructions for Curt trailer hitch # 13229 and a video showing a typical installation. The instructions are pretty simple:
1. Remove existing hole plug (if present) on the center of bumper and return to vehicle owner.
2. Raise hitch into position by sliding the hitch chain plate behind the vehicle chain plate. Loosely secure hitch with 3/4-10 X 1 3/4 inch flat head socket cap screw through the bumper and bumper support and into the threaded hitch... view full answer...
I do not recommend cutting the bag from your Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs - Rear # AL60818 as you could potentially hurt yourself or damage other components of the air springs or your vehicle. These bags were designed to be able to handle a lot of pressure so they will be hard to cut through. The best way to remove them is to remove the rear coil that has the defective bag and then pull the bag out. This will also allow you to easily insert the new bag before reinstalling... view full answer...
I went out to the warehouse to see what size box we ship the Econo Porch Trailer Step # EHS-102-R in and found it to measure about 35" x 47-1/2". As far as disassembly goes, once you remove the handrail the stairs simply collapse. Since the stairs come as one piece I don't advise trying to break them down any further than what they ship out as.
Attached is a photo of what comes in the box when you receive it and the instructions that are included. This is as far as you should go when breaking... view full answer...
