We have lift kits for trailer that easily add 2 inches to the height of the trailer. For that you'd want the part # RR23QX and you'd be set. I attached a picture that shows how it installs to give you an idea. This would be the easiest solution to your situation. view full answer...
Hi Howard; if this was originally the 2-bike # KU84FR all you need to do is remove the add on # KU57FR to convert it back. If it was originally the 3-bike version # KU24FR you will remove the cradle and hook arm but the arms they attach to will remain extended out as they are now. There are no special instructions or other info you should need to make the conversion. view full answer...
Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out!
I have 2 different options for you to look at, and it really just depends on what style you're looking for:
The Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK are wired and will work with your 7-Way if you use the Pollak Adapter # PK12716.
For a wireless option we have the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light # LIW-LDTL-7B which plugs in without the adapter and obviously doesn't require you to run wiring along your vehicle and make sure it isn't blowing around... view full answer...
For your 2019 Cadillac XT5 the Rhino Rack RVP roof rack part # RR67QJ that you referenced is a confirmed fit and would be a great option for carrying a cargo box. This is a sleek and quiet roof rack that's well made and easy to install without the higher price tags of other options. It would be a great option to carry a larger cargo box like the Thule Motion XT part # TH629907 that can carry up to 22 cubic feet of storage space. view full answer...
Hey Sam, to get replacement hardware for your # C13285 hitch you'd need to buy # RHK. You'd just need to enter the hitch's item number in the box, and you'll be all set. view full answer...
For the tire size of 235/55R20 we have great tire chain options available. My favorite is the Konig Easy Fit Chains part # TH04115255 which unlike other options that take a while to install these install in literally seconds, provide great traction, have rim protection, require minimal clearances, and last a very long time.
For the best in terms of rim protection and tire clearance though the K-Summit chains part # TH02230K77 are what you'd want. Unlike other options these don't drape... view full answer...
Hi Ed!
I wasn't sure which hitch you were looking at, but I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e62AR. The matte black finish helps hide it better than glossy options, which I think looks more stock-ish.
The wiring will be a little more difficult, but not overly so. There isn't a wiring harness for your '25 Cadillac XT5 that has both the 7-way and 4-flat, but it is possible to get something that does. You will need to start... view full answer...
Hey Gregg. The only hitches available for the 2021 Cadillac XT5 are 2" ones like our etrailer item # e62AR. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight.
What specific make and model bike rack do you have? Most of the ones that fit a 1-1/4" hitch won't let you use an adapter like the MaxxTow item # MT70033. You'll want to use a reducer sleeve like item # e63YR. This simply slides into the 2" receiver and makes it smaller so a 1-1/4" accessory will... view full answer...
Hey Jeffrey, thanks for reaching out!
Yes, the Thule Pack 'n Pedal Tour Rack # TH100090 is a good fit for your Scott Sub Cross 30 XL. I'm not sure what you mean by support bar, but from the images I'm seeing of your bike it looks like the angle of that rear frame is compatible with the rack and the supports for the rack. view full answer...
I can certainly help shed some light on the situation. I also am not aware of any app that calculates turning clearance. If only it were so easy right? If you have the option to purchase a long bed truck, that would be preferred. That way you will never have to worry about clearance. Also, GMC offers an OEM 5th wheel prep package, which would make your life a lot easier. Otherwise you will need to install a rail kit like the # BWRVK2505.
The official answer is- "it depends". Generally... view full answer...
I pulled up the owners manual of your 2018 Cadillac XT5 online and found that to tow it on a dolly like the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1 you'd need to put the vehicle in park. You can see the full process on page 318 of your manual but the other key step is to disconnect the negative side of the battery as well. view full answer...
A trailer hitch from a 2013 Cadillac SRX will not fit your 2018 Cadillac XT5, which means you will need a new hitch.
The hitch I recommend for your 2018 Cadillac XT5 is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e62AR.
I like this hitch above the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13285 because the Draw-Tite has slightly better ground clearance than the Curt, which is important to keep things like accessories from hitting the ground. I have added a photo showing with this hitch looks like on a 2018 XT5... view full answer...
The Loading Ramp for Swagman Skaha and Escapee Bike Racks # S59SR is only going to work with the Swagman Skaha and Escapee bike racks and will not work with your E-Spec bike rack.
Instead, you're going to want to check out the Swagman Ramp and Bridge for Swagman Current, E-Spec, and G10 Bike Racks # S32YR which is going to work with your E-Spec. view full answer...
Thanks for the pictures! I have a solution for you but there is a couple of issues with using the Inno Tire Hold bike rack. The hitch pin hole on the etrailer item # e62AR hitch for your 2017 Cadillac XT5 sits pretty far back from the edge of your bumper at 6". I would not recommend using the Inno Tire Hold Bike Rack for 1 Bike - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches item # INH110 because of the lack of clearance. The distance from the hitch pin hole to the closest point on the carrier is 6" so you will... view full answer...
Yes, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e62AR will include the 6 fish wires to install the six 7/16" carriage bolts and square hole spacers.
I recommend installing either the Tekonsha 4-Way Flat # 118720 or 7-Way # 118276 when you install the receiver on your 2022 Cadillac XT5. These will connect to the factory wiring and allow you to connect different trailers. The 4-way will work on most small trailers while the 7-way will be needed on larger trailers which use electric brakes. The... view full answer...
When installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e62AR, which is confirmed to fit your 2018 Cadillac XT5, you will want to use the included pull wire to feed the carriage bolts and spacers into the frame rails. Leaving the pull wires attached, you will then feed the carriage bolts through the bracket holes and raise the hitch into position. At this point you can remove the pull wires and loosely install the hex nuts and conical washers to the hitch.
I definitely recommend having an... view full answer...
There isn't a trick to removing the cap on the tow plug of your 2019 Cadillac XT5 to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56325.
I have added a link below to an installation video of this harness on an XT5, and at about the 2:30 mark you can see how our installer did it. What he did was slide the red tab away from the plug and up, and there will be a little gray tab to push down. I do highly recommend watching that... view full answer...
Yes, the Curt Class III Hitch Receiver # C13285 is confirmed to fit your 2017 Cadillac XT5 base model. It will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation and features a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. I have attached an installation video that you can also use for reference.
For a trailer wiring harness I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One # 118720 if you need a 4-Way connector or the Tekonsha # 118276 if you need a 7-Way. These are both custom harnesses... view full answer...
I did some checking and the front wheel drive versions of the 2019 Cadillac XT5 can be towed on a tow dolly like the Roadmaster dolly part # RM-2050-1 that you referenced but the all wheel drive versions need to be towed on a tow dolly.
I'd recommend going with a front wheel drive XT5 then and you'd be able to tow it with a dolly then. Front wheel drive vehicles tend to get better gas mileage than all wheel drive ones as well. view full answer...
We currently do not have a brake controller installation video available for your 2017 Cadillac XT5. Rather than using a hard wire brake controller like the Tekonsha # 90885, I recommend a wireless option.
The Curt Echo # C51180 is a wireless brake controller that will plug into your 7-way on your XT5. It works with your smart phone through the Echo App. This is a proportional controller so once you set it for your combination it will not require any adjustments. And best of all you can... view full answer...
