Easiest to Install Brake Controller for 2017 Cadillac XT5 with 4-Way

I have a 2017 Cadillac XT5 which I went to add a brake controller. It does not have a factory towing package it currently has a four wire trailer plug with a 5000 pound hitch I installed. We are towing a pop-up camper that weighs just over 2000 pounds. It brakes well as it is, but because Im just over the 2000 pounds I think I should install a brake controller. I am looking for an easy to install brake controller, which is inexpensive as it is an older car. What model do you recommend? I see Tekonsha I have a couple bottles under $100, but would they be easy to install?

Hey Joel, for your 2017 Cadillac XT5 the easiest brake controller solution would be the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which basically just plugs into an active 7-way and once synced to your smart phone is ready to tow without any extensive wiring.
To convert your 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install this you'd just want the part # ETBC7L and you'd be set.
