Upgrade your commercial or industrial vehicle's auxiliary halogen light to this Vision X LED utility light and never look back. This extremely bright, 35-watt light uses precision optics to shoot out a narrow 10-degree spot beam that is visible for over 500'. It delivers more light output with less power consumption than a typical 100-watt halogen light, maximizing work time while minimizing downtime. In addition to delivering maximum usable light and stellar efficiency, this light also gives you the same look you've come to expect from similar, industry-standard halogen and HID commercial or industrial fleet lights. So you won't have to sacrifice the look that you want to get the visibility that you need.
The beam pattern of this light is great for seeing at a distance. The narrow 10-degree beam concentrates the light at a single point, illuminating objects over 500' away. This makes it ideal for high-speed or low-speed driving applications where distance vision is vital.
Although LED lights typically produce far less heat than halogen or HID lights, heat is still the biggest enemy of an LED. Vision X controls and combats heat with Prime Drive technology. This technology combines electronic thermal management (ETM) with pulse-width modulation (PWM) for superior heat resistance. The result is ultra-bright lights with the highest output, the lease amount of wasted ligth and energy, and the longest life span.
Many LEDs on the market are only driven to 60 percent of their potential to avoid overheating, electrical spikes, and premmature failures. But the Vision X ETM system allows the LEDs in their lights to be drive to 90 percent of their potential. The system monitors each LED's heat level to keep the light operating at a safe temperature, which maximizes its efficiency and life span.
If the ETM system senses that the LED is getting too hot, it engages the pulse width modulation (PWM), which flashes the light at a rate of 100,000 times per second - faster than the human eye can detect. This gives the LED time to cool between cycles while still maintaining its overall brightness. It also allows the LED to be dimmed when used with a Vision X dimmer (sold separately).
Not all LEDs are created equal. Lower-grade LEDs, which make up a large portion of the market, produce more heat at the same wattage and have a much shorter life span. Vision X only uses top-quality LEDs for their products. LED manufacturers utilize a process known as "binning" to classify the quality of LEDs within each batch produced. Vision X uses only top-binned LEDs to ensure the highest quality possible.
Vision X products are built to perform under the toughest conditions. Sealed housing protects the lights sensitive internal electronics against water, dirt, and dust. An impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with a scratch-resistant coating covers the front of the light. The bottom of the light features vibration dampening rubber to prevent damage to the LEDs from bumps and impacts.
A rugged, black powder coated aluminum housing resists corrosion and rust. Channeled fins work with the air for convection-style cooling. Additionally Vision X lights are all thoroughly tested and protected against voltage spikes, and interference with radio reception and vehicle wiring.
The wiring harness is also triple sealed to ensure a waterproof connection to its industry-standard Deutsch connector. The included mounting hardware is built to resist vibration and corrosion, keeping the light firmly in place.
Vision X runs extensive testing on all of their products to ensure performance under the harshest conditions. This commitment to providing the best lighting solutions possible is one of the reasons why Vision X products are used by NASA. Check the diagram below for a better understanding of what goes into testing a Vision X light:
Lumens are used to measure the amount of usable light that is put out by a light source. Raw lumens represent the number of lumens that the manufacturer claims the LEDs are capable of producing. It does not include the light's drive method or the amount of light lost from the lens or reflector. Effective lumens take these factors into account and represent the number of lumens that are actually produced by the complete light assembly, not just the amount of light that the diodes are capable of producing. This light has a 3,696 raw lumen capacity and produces 2,590 effective lumens.

Today, we're going to review Part Number XIL-UMX4010. This is the Vision X 35-Watt LED Utility Market Xtreme Light with the narrow spot beam pattern. This part number includes everything shown here. The light itself, it includes the mounting bolt, the pad to put under the mounting bracket, and the Deutsch connector for connecting it to the power. This LED utility light will provide bright focus light. The beam it gives off is a narrow 10-degree spot beam, and that's ideal for high or low-speed industrial, commercial, and fleet applications. Has superior light output from the seven 5-watt LEDs to give you the total of 35 watts.
This does use maximum efficiency with minimal heat. The premium LEDs have a 50,000-hour lifespan, and they're driven to 90% of their light-emitting potential. Now you know it says 50,000-hour lifespan, it does come with a limited lifetime warranty on it. It does use electronic thermal management or ETM technology, and this allows for your highest potential light output at all times. On the housing of the light, you'll see it uses the channeled fins. This will help quickly dissipate any heat that builds up. It is made of a durable weather-resistant construction.
Has a nice, rugged, black powder coat aluminum housing which is lightweight and rustproof. The lens on it is an impact-resistant polycarbonate lens. Has a scratch-resistant coating. The mounting bracket and the mounting hardware is a high-tensile stainless steel hardware that help withstand vibration. It's a very easy installation with these included components. Basically, the universal, single-bolt, pedestal-style bracket which is already installed on the light provides a nice, sturdy mounting base.
Use this bolt to attach it to wherever. It also let's you adjust the angle. Once it's mounted, you can see that you can adjust whatever angle you wanted at, and then tighten it down in that position. Comes with the pad that goes underneath, so when you put it in, it won't scratch the surface. It also comes with this pigtail wiring harness. Has an industry standard triple-sealed Deutsch connector.
On one end is the pigtail. As you can see, the red is for power, the black is for ground. On the other end of the Deutsch connector, the orange ring around that you can see is the triple seals on it. When you go to plug it into your light, what you're going to end up doing is as you plug it in, it's a very snug fit. Push it in and it will click and lock into place. Then that triple seal on the inside makes it a weather-proof seal, so it keeps any elements from getting to your connection. Again, the specs on this, the quantity is one light, has seven 5-watt diodes, gives you a total wattage of 35 watts. The power draw is 3.8 amps. Input voltage is 11 volts to 65 volts DC. Does have a limited lifetime warranty. The light output, the effective lumen output on this is 2,590 lumens. The raw lumen output is 3,696 lumens. When this is turned on, the beam is 508 feet long by 52 feet wide. Again, the pattern is a narrow 10-degree spot pattern. Dimensions on this, the diameter of this is 4-1/2" and the depth from the front to the back is about 3". What I'm going to do now is I have a 12-volt power supply. Going to go ahead and plug it into the light. Then what I'm going to do is try to just pan out here so we can maybe show the pattern on the back wall. Now what I'm going to do is go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. We'll go ahead and turn on the power. With the power, you could see the light that's given off from the 35-watt. I'm just going to turn it around. You can basically see the narrow 10-degree spot beam pattern that the light does give off. Go ahead and turn off the power. Go ahead and turn the overhead lights back on. That should do it for the review of Part Number XIL-UMX4010. This is the Vision X 35-Watt LED Utility Market Xtreme Light with the narrow spot beam pattern. .
