This base plate bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required, giving you a strong, even connection that won’t strain the suspension. The durable steel construction and precision welds distribute towing forces evenly across the frame, so your setup stays steady on long trips. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion, keeping everything solid through years of road use.
When you’re not towing, this setup keeps a clean, uncluttered look up front. Hidden reinforcements leave only the attachment tabs visible, so there’s no bulky hardware hanging out in front of the bumper. It’s a simple, low-profile approach that looks tidy and reduces the chance of catching your leg on anything when walking by.
If you like tackling projects yourself, this base plate is designed for straightforward installation. It bolts securely to your vehicle’s chassis using the included mounting hardware—no welding needed. The clear layout makes it easier to line up and torque down properly, so you can get the job done confidently in your own garage.
The sturdy lugs pair directly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure connection every time you hook up. If you already have another setup, it’s adaptable too—use adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5 for Roadmaster tow bars or DM9523041 for Demco systems (sold separately). That flexibility means you can keep using gear you already own without changing your whole setup.
The distance between brackets is 24" and bracket height is 19", making it easy to plan your tow bar height and any needed high-low adapter for level towing. These consistent mounting points help ensure your connection stays aligned, so hitching up goes quickly and your rig tracks straight behind your RV wherever you travel.

Glad the install went smoothly, Grant! Even with those weird handle nuts (which I agree are kind of odd). What's the first trip you have planned? And I will let Alex know what you said as well! : )

Thanks for your review, Richard! It sounds like this was a fairly involved installation, but we're glad to hear everything came together successfully in the end. We appreciate you sharing the details of your process, especially the tips about the tight frame rail clearance and drilling challenges, as those insights may help other RV owners tackling the same project. Thanks for including the photo as well. Your finished installation looks great! Now that it's installed and you're moving on to the diode kit and brake away switch, what adventure are you looking forward to most this summer in your RV?
