  • Parts Needed to Add Electric Brakes on Trailer With 3,500 lb Axle
We do have what you need to install electric brakes on your trailer, and so long as your current hub and drums are 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide (which is standard for 3,500 lb axles) and you have a 4-bolt brake mounting flange such # 4-35 you can use the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-26-27. If you don't have that brake mounting flange you would need to get it welded onto your axle beam. Other parts you need for this are the Brake Adjustment Spoon # W80630 and Hopkins Engager Push-To-Test...

  • Brake Controller Pin vs 12V Power Pin for 7-Way on 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350
The 12V power that you are referring to is actually on a different circuit than what your Prodigy P3 # 90195 and the Adapter # 3066-P will be sending power on. The 12V power is constant and is the pin in the 2 o'clock position while the brake controller will only send power when the brake pedal is pressed (while you're traveling) or if you apply the brakes with the manual override. The pin for the brake controller is in the 5 o'clock position for the 7-Way connector on your 2016 Mercedes-Benz...

  • Will the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller Work On a 2016 Porsche Cayenne
The Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller part # 3430001 is an excellent option for a 2016 Porsche Cayenne. In regards to parts needed, there would be no additional components for the Cayenne assuming it did in fact come with a factory tow package. If you take a look at the rear of the vehicle you should see a round trailer connector with seven pins inside which would indicate you do indeed have the factory tow package. In regards to the trailer, you would simply use ring terminals if...

EZ Connector Mounting Bracket # 319-S7-61 is compatible with their 7-way vehicle socket # 319-S7-05 as well as their 14-pin socket # 319-S14-05-6. Both share the same mounting hole spacing that is shown in the linked photo. For a crimping tool I suggest one the like tool included in wiring kits # HM51020 and # HM51010.

  • Replacement for Linear Series Stereo part LS7600CD
The iRV RV Stereo part # iRV34 can absolutely be used to replace the Linear Series Stereo part LS7600CD. However, you will need to cut/splice the new wiring harness onto the old wiring harness. That said, if you want to replace the stereo you will need to cut/splice wires for any option you choose as they don't offer any adapter harnesses for this purpose. Please note, the wires should be labeled so all you need to match wires based on function with butt connectors. I know cutting and...

  • How to Rewire Trailer for 6 Way Connection with Separate Turn Signals and Brake Lights
First you will want a new 6-way like the Hopkins 6-Way Molded Connector, # H20036. Installing the 6-way plug will be made easier by using a junction box such as # 38656. This box mounts to the trailer frame and serves as a connection point between the trailer's original wiring and the new 6-way. Also you will want some Deka jacketed 2 wire, 10 gauge, brake wire # 10-2-1 to run the brake output circuit from the junction box to the brake assemblies as well as some Deka 16-gauge bonded 4-wire...

You will plug the factory 4-Way into the back of the adapter and hardwire the remaining 4 wires. See diagram to the right. • Adding Electric Drum Brakes to a Scamp Camper Trailer
Setting up a trailer with electric drum brakes is going to be the easier and most cost effective way of adding brakes to your Scamp trailer. Since the trailer already has the mounting flanges that will limit the amount of parts and work that will need to be done. Starting with the hub and drum assemblies since your bearings are both L44649 and you have an EZ Lube style axle you would need # 8-257-5UC3-EZ with the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. They are designed for 2,000 pound axles but will...

In fact we even have a complete FAQ article on the topic that I have linked for you which includes info on all the items needed. The terminal posts in the Epicord 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box # 277-000141 are indeed a 3/16-inch diameter. You can use ring terminal # 44-5310A for connecting 10- and 12-gauge wires. For the lighter 14-gauge wiring use part # DW05702-1. You'll need a crimping tool like the one included in our Deluxe Trailer Wiring Kit # HM51020. I also recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 on those connections to protect them from moisture and corrosion.

  • What is Needed To Install Electric Brakes On A Master Tow Dolly That Doesnt Have Brakes
Before installing brakes on your trailer, you will need to know some basic information about your existing trailer. The first thing you will need to find out is if your tow dolly has a brake mounting flange mounted on your existing axle. The brake mounting flange provides a secure attachment point for a brake assembly. If you have a mounting flange, send me a picture or dimensions. See diagram to the right. This will help determine your existing brake mounting flange pattern. If you...

Optronics uses small 20 gauge wiring for their 4-Way wiring harnesses so it would be even smaller than 18. In order to get 14 gauge wires I recommend # DW04923-1 which is sold by the foot. Each of the wires in it are 14 gauge. Then you would just need the lights, # ST6RB and # ST7RB, 2 of # MC36AB, and license plate bracket # LP10SB. And for the additional clips, connectors, ties and other parts I recommend the wiring kit # HM51020.

  • Trailer Wiring Repair Kits and Parts
If you need to do a temporary wiring repair on your trailer the wire color used does not matter but the wire gauge can matter. The brown and yellow wires on your trailer carry stop/turn and tail light signals and probably were either 16- or 18-gauge. Using solid wire instead of stranded wire is okay, but solid core wire can be harder to work with since it is less flexible and harder to twist together for splicing. Also, solid core wire will typically do less well with vibration since it...
