If your trailer uses a 7-round plug and your tow vehicle has a 7-blade socket, this adapter bridges the gap. The Pollak Trailer Connector Adapter #PK12728 plugs right in between the two without cutting or splicing wires. You get a clean, solid connection that lets your lights and power functions work like they should.
Some adapters are plastic and wear out fast under road grit or weather. This Pollak model is made from die-cast zinc, giving it a sturdy, corrosion-resistant shell that stands up to heavy use. It’s a piece you can leave connected without worrying about cracks or loose terminals down the road.
When you’re running trailer accessories that draw steady power, the adapter keeps up. It can handle a constant 12-volt load when protected by a 40-amp circuit breaker installed at the power source under the hood. That setup keeps both your truck’s system and trailer wiring safe from overloads.
Because it uses standard 7-blade and 7-round pin layouts, diagnosing issues or swapping parts later is straightforward. If a plug notch or lid tab ever gets damaged, you can replace the connector without changing the whole setup. It’s a practical solution that keeps your wiring simple and reliable.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part #PK12728. This is the Pollak trailer connector adapter. This adapter is going to plug into your 7-way blade style vehicle end connector and it's going to convert it for use with a 7-way round pin style trailer end connector. The housing here on this end is going to be made from a dye cast zinc construction, very strong and durable as well as resistant to corrosion and rust. This unit is going to feature easy grip design so here on the blade end connector you're going to have the finger tab right there. It's going to allow for quick connecting and disconnecting. On this end here, you're going to have a spring loaded lid. It's got a nice little finger tab right here so you can easily lift up on that and make the connection as necessary. The easy grips are a great feature to have.
They're going to allow for quick connecting and disconnecting. Then right here in between the plugs you're going to have about 8-1/2 inches of wiring. That's going to be protected with that nice wire loom protector on there so it's going to keep the wires bundled together. It's also going to protect them from any type of damage. Overall length of this unit is going to measure about 16 inches and it's going to have a voltage rating of 12 volts. That's going to do it for our review of part #PK12728. This is the Pollak trailer connector adapter.

Of all the ones like this that they had on their site, I think I picked the best. This thing is excellent! Does just the trick. Good quality construction materials assembled into a solid product. Connection fits were snug as you would want. The time from order to delivery was shorter than they projected too! Very, very happy with this.
The connection for the trailer brake is not performing

This adapter does have a limited one-year warranty, however I wanted to ask you a few questions. Have you had the opportunity to test the seven way on the vehicle to make sure the brake signal is making it there and also testing the brake wiring signal on the trailer to see if it is making it past the seven way on the trailer?

Yes I have tested it,and I have also hooked the trailer to another truck that doesn’t require the adapter and it works fine.

I have sent the warranty return instructions in a separate email to you. You will receive it shortly.
The adaptor did the trick. My friend had an older and different style connector on his older truck, so he put the mating connector on his trailer. His truck was down and we needed the adaptor to connect the trailer to my newer GMC to use the construction dumping trailer.
You have to switch the blue and black wires, but it works!

Fine. No issues. It stays outside in the weather and still hooks up just fine.
