You hook up the trailer and find the wiring connection has seen better days. This 12V replacement harness restores the link between a compatible 7-way round socket and 5-pin Delphi connector, while the coiled cord helps keep wiring from dragging.
When trailer lights stop responding and the connector is the weak link, replacing the connection is often the fastest path back to service. This trailer connector is designed to replace a worn or damaged wiring connection between your vehicle and trailer, restoring the electrical link needed for normal trailer lighting and electrical operation. Once connected, your trailer wiring system is ready to communicate through the harness again.
Connector mismatch is one of the most common reasons a replacement harness won't work with an existing setup. This harness combines a 7-way round vehicle-side connector with a 5-pin Delphi trailer-side connector, allowing your existing connection points to remain in place. You can replace the harness itself while keeping your current wiring arrangement intact.
Loose trailer wiring can hang lower than needed between your vehicle and trailer, especially as the connection point moves through turns and normal towing motion. The coiled cord stretches when additional reach is needed and retracts when it isn't, helping manage excess cable length between hookup points. Your wiring stays more contained while still accommodating movement between the trailer and tow vehicle.
Replacing a connector only helps if it matches the electrical system it's intended to serve. This 12V trailer connector is designed for standard trailer lighting and electrical systems, making it a direct replacement option when your existing harness needs attention. After installation, your trailer can continue operating through the same 12V electrical architecture already in use.
Replacement electrical components are often stored until installation day, then transported with other trailer parts and supplies. Polypack packaging helps protect the connector during storage and shipping, keeping your replacement harness contained and ready when it's time to put your trailer back into service.

Hi everyone. Today we're taking a look at the Optronics trailer connector with a coiled cord. So folks, this is going to be a wiring connection between the tow vehicle and the trailer. And over time they become damaged. Maybe it fell out for some reason, a drug on the road and it got frayed. This gives you a straightforward way to replace the harness without changing the existing connection style on the other end.
So on the vehicle side, you're going to have the seven way round connector. And then on the trailer side, you're going to have this five pin Delphi connector. So basically, you need to make sure that you have this connector on the trailer side. Again, it's a common five pin Delphi connector. And when you're towing, you're going to need enough wire to make those turns and stuff.
So I like this because it's coiled and that's one of its best features in my opinion. And then of course you have that seven way trailer connection, very standard stuff. And then you have a clip here included. That way you can mount this onto the trailer when not in use. You could clip it like that, have it out of the way, or vice versa to keep water out.
Just clip it somewhere to where it's not on the ground when the trailer's not in use. And again, this five pin way here, you can see that blue gasket. When you plug it in to the trailer side, it's going to make that watertight connection and you get the screw here and everything to replace that as well if it's running through a trailer frame or something of that nature as well. So obviously this is going to work with 12 volt standard trailer electrical connections. Again, folks, if you have a damaged, worn out, just want to upgrade, have these two specific connectors on your trailer and the tow vehicle.
This is a great option. The Optronics trailer connector with the five pin Delphi. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
