When you’re towing a heavy trailer or hauling a bed full of gear, rear-end sag and sway can make the drive feel sketchy. This RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit adds 2,000 lbs of load support to keep your ride level under weight. The variable-rated coil tension springs automatically adjust to your load, improving traction and reducing sway so your truck stays steady while braking, cornering, or pulling up a grade.
Stock leaf springs can get harsh when you add helper springs, but this setup is different. The mechanically active design strengthens your leaf springs only when needed—engaging instantly under load and disengaging when unloaded. That means a smoother ride every day with better handling when the bed or hitch is loaded down.
Hard acceleration or towing can twist stock leaf springs, causing axle wrap and wheel hop that wear out parts fast. This system eliminates both by reinforcing the spring structure itself. With the added stability, you get cleaner takeoffs, better traction when accelerating or braking, and less stress on shocks and shackles.
You bolt it on once and forget about it. The epoxy e-coated steel components resist corrosion with brackets rated for more than 800 hours of salt spray. The fully assembled units install under the leaf spring and around the factory U-bolts—no drilling, cutting, or welding required. Once in place, the kit needs no adjustments or monitoring, giving you lasting performance mile after mile.

2023 F150. Install was fairly easy. Set at 25%. Ride unloaded a bit stiffer, but handling much better. Lifted rear of truck about an inch. Towing 7500 lb camper down NYS thruway which is crowded with much unforgiving bumps and pot holes the ride was more manageable. The 25+ mph cross winds did make for quite a bit of sway still, not as bad as before adding the RAS. Still felt passing trucks trying to suck me in, not as bad as before.
I plan on cranking the RAS to 40% on next camping trip and hopefully give the RAS 5 stars.
I purchased the RAS system 6 months ago to help with rear end sag & control while towing our 22 ft 4200lb camping trailer. It improved sag & helped handling even when not towing! I don't get the bounce when driving on bumpy uneven roads the wheels stay planted on the road. I recently purchased a 8000lb camping trailer & my 24 1500 Silverado handles it very well, I will adjust the RAS to the next step up for the extra weight when time permits.
The install took just over an hour with help from a friend & a car lift which is good since I'm 70 years old.

Just perfect to level the rear of my GMC 1500 Denali with the 29' Airstream (900 lb tongue wt). Preload is set at 1mm. I tried 2mm and it was overkill for this application. I was pleased with how easy the install was. I had to use a two jack hack to get the rear tires off since my 19" lift floor jack didn't quite have enough reach. You lower the differential after the tires are off so the rear axle is hanging free for the install. See photos

I bought this kit for my 2019 trd pro it’s an absolute must for the saggy leaf springs in the tundra especially the fox shocks but these give it a way better stance on the back with a 3” lift kit. you can tell this difference as soon as you drive the truck ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!
Pretty easy install on my 2012 Toyota Tundra. I pull a 25’ airstream front BR travel trailer. It’s got at least a 1,000 # tongue weight. I was sagging in the rear, and getting a lot of porpoising when on concrete sectioned roads. The RAS eliminated the sag, and greatly reduced any porpoising. The truck seems way more planted with the airstream in tow. I’ve even moved it around a bit without the weight distribution bars in place. Truck is level now when towing. I know this doesn’t actually change the payload rating for the Tundra, but it sure changes how it pulls my trailer and hauls heavy loads. I also went to E rated tires.

Just installed,took about 3 hours. My 2015 tundra would drop 5" when I lowered the trailer, now it only drops 3" and sits level. Did a 15 minute test drive, I felt like the ride over bumps and dips was improved. The only complaint is the installation instructions were very poor.
I really like the installation process and the results where good but I do wish I went with the heavier model
When I began the installation I set up the Tundra on my slopping driveway with chocks and attempted to jack it up with my small floor jack. Once I saw that I had to remove the spring eye plate I decided it was not very safe. I ended up going to my son-in-laws where he had a floor lift. After lifting the truck it was a very easy installation. I did watch U-tube about 6 or 8 times to make sure of the adjustments and as I said it went very well. Here are a couple of photos.
We added these to my 2017 Tundra which we use to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. We camp on USFS lands and roads can be bumpy, rutted, etc. this stiffens up the suspension and we’ve never had any issues with bottoming out.
Overall, I'm super pleased with both the product and services from etrailer and the suspension enhancement seems to work well for my application. Small camping trailer, helped take away most of the sag.
Mounted on 2015 Tundra ,pull heavy car trailer and toy box these work great and are adjustable. Unlike airbags they won't leak and much easier install. They helped level truck when I'm loaded and resolved some front braking issues with the sensors on these new vehicled.
I really like the suspension add on. It keeps my truck level when towing our 9000 lb camper bumper pull. I get great stability on the road and it helps with handling the tongue weight on my 2013 Toyota Tundra 1/2 ton. It doesn't change the stiffen the suspension of my truck until I add weight. So, you don't notice it with normal driving. Installation went smoothly. The components were high quality and heavy duty. I recommend it.

I installed the Road Active suspension standard duty kit on my 2017 Tundra. I was hoping for a smoother ride with and without a load and I was not disappointed. I don’t do heavy hauling, just a center console boat that weighs about 3000 pounds with trailer. My truck definitely has a smoother ride. It is especially noticeable on rough spots like bridge crossings, etc. I set the springs somewhere in between the light and heavy settings. I used a quarter as a spacer. It raised the rear of my truck one inch. I definitely recommend the Road Active suspension and etrailer is the best place to buy it.

Still pleased. After the initial review I replaced the rear shocks with Bilstein 5100s and put Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts on front raising it about 2 inches. The result was a 1 inch rake with no load, and a level rake with my boat attached. Just what I was trying to get.

I still wish I went with the heavier modal. But overall it’s a very good product. I just needed a heavier duty version.
