Rear Suspension Support

SumoSprings helper springs are great for RVs or motor homes. Heavy rear loads can cause sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the motor home's weight. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

SumoSprings diagram of installation above existing vehicle spring

Each spring in this kit is bolted to two mounting brackets. One bracket is attached to the frame of your vehicle, and the other bracket is attached to the axle, typically above your existing factory leaf spring. Because each helper spring is in full contact at the top and bottom of the suspension's travel, the expanding and contracting action of the SumoSprings enhances your ride under all conditions, not just when it's loaded. And the closed-cell urethane springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

SumoSprings compressing under load

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

SumoSprings expanding to allow play in the suspension

These springs extend in height by as much as 50 percent to allow more movement in your suspension when you're traveling unloaded, making your ride smoother and more comfortable.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings expand and compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

This kit comes with custom-fit brackets that are designed to easily bolt onto your vehicle.

  • Best Suspension Enhancement & Steering Stabilizer For 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U
Hi Jeff, I can give you a hand here with suspension upgrades for your 2023 Jayco Greyhawk 27U, though honestly I'd go a different route than the Timbrens # TFEF350 and # TFERSD you mentioned. They'll do their job, but my goodness they can be quite rough on the ride. They are made from a very dense hollow rubber so there just isn't much "give" there and you'll feel it. The better option is definitely SumoSprings because they'll compress based on the weight being transferred so it isn't...

  • Which Hellwig Anti-Sway Bars Should Be Installed on a 2022 Entegra Odyssey 26D
Hey Robert, thanks for reaching out! You are correct that you'll want to install the rear Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar # HE78RR first on your '22 Entegra Odyssey 26D, and then if you still need more help you can install the front Hellwig Anti-Sway Bar # HE26GR. You'll see a bigger difference with the rear bar replacement than you will with the front which is why we recommend changing out the rear first. Some additional upgrades you might be interested in for the the future are a steering stabilizer...

  • Difference Between The SumoSprings Helper Springs # SSR-106-54-1 And # SSF-106-47
The SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-106-54-1 you referenced are for extra heavy duty and rated for 7,000-lb capacity and are designed for your rear axle while the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle # SSF-106-47 are for light duty and are for the front axle of your motorhome. Both are a fit for your Class C motorhome and will help minimize sway and body roll. I do not recommend just looking at the colors of the springs as Super Springs uses their...

  • In Which Order Should SumoSprings Be Installed On A 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree Motorhome
It doesn't matter which order you install the SumoSprings on your 2006 Fleetwood Jamboree GT 31W motorhome. Typically the rear needs the most help when it comes to enhancement so that's where most people start, but if you're doing both it doesn't really matter. For your Ford E-450 Chassis you would want the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-54-1 for the rear and the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSF-106-47 for the front. I've attached some videos below to help...

  • Best Sumo Springs For 2022 Nexus Viper V25/ Ford E450
Hello Harold, thanks for reaching out. The SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-47-1 are the correct fit for your 2022 Nexus Viper/Ford E450. The 7" of clearance is the bare minimum for them to fit, so as long as you have 7" or more between the sidewall of the tire and the frame you will be good. The Hellwig sway bar will not interfere with the Sumo Springs. it is quite common for folks to use these products in tandem.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 Forest River Forester Motorhome E-450
Adjustable suspension enhancement would be your best option. This will give you the ability to add the exact amount of additional support you'd need to prevent bottoming out while also not making the suspension overly stiff. So for that you'd want the Firestone Ride Rite kit part # F22ZR which is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Forest River class C 32 ft. on a Ford E-450 chassis. For a compressor kit to make inflating and maintaining the air bags easy we have the Firestone kit part #...

Hi Kevin; it looks like your 2025 Entrada 3100FB is built on an E-450 chassis. Air bags would be the best option since you have the most control with side to side leveling. The correct air bags would be the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F22ZR. You will probably want a dual path air compressor like the # AL74000EZ to go with them so you can adjust the air bags wherever you go with the motorhome. If you want an option that doesn't require adjustments or maintenance you can use...

  • Recommended SumoSprings for a 2014 Jayco Greyhawk 31DC
The most common suspension enhancement option for a 2014 Jayco Greyhawk 31DC is without a doubt SumoSprings which is what I recommend. • Suspension Enhancement for 2014 Coachmen Leprechaun 21QB
Hey Eddie! The best solution for your 2014 Coachmen Leprechaun 21QB will be to upgrade/replace anti-sway bars. For the front you need the # HE26GR. The rear depends on if you have a factory sway bar in place. If you do have the factory bar you need the # HE28RR. If you don't have one at all you need # HE98RR. These will really cut down on that movement/sway when you have a lot of wind or other big trailers on the road. I expect quite the difference with both installed. However, sometimes...

  • Parts to Improve Ride Quality on 2025 Jayco Greyhawk 27U
Hi Ed; unfortunately, that is a pretty common problem with new motorhomes. The front and rear anti-sway bar are typically the best way to start so adding the Hellwig Front Anti-Sway Bar # HE26GR is a great idea. After that, I recommend a steering stabilizer. The Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer # RM47MR will drastically improve steering and really cut down on fatigue. Since you have the rear anti-sway bar, do you have the JRide Plus package? That comes with the Koni shocks...

The correct SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for a motorhome with Ford E-450 Chassis is part # SSF-106-47. If you decide to replace the rears as well you'll want to use the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-106-47-1. I recommend installing the SumoSprings # SSR-106-47-1 on the rear of your 2023 Ford E-450 Class C cutaway chassis. In my experience I feel these are the best option as they cushion the suspension while the Timbren # TFERSD you found is much stiffer and I find creates a harsher ride. Even with you mentioning your front riding great you should still consider the Front # SSF-106-47 SumoSprings as they will help when you get on roads of lesser quality. Yes, those parts from SuperSprings will fit your 2023 Forest River East-to-West Entrada: - Front # SSF-106-47 - Rear # SSR-106-47-1 It is important to check and make sure you have 7" of clearance from your tire sidewall to the frame of your RV though since you do have a dual-wheel motorhome. If you don't have that clearance then you need the kit # SSR-130-54 instead for the rear part.

For SumoSprings for your 2022 Ford E450 RV, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Front Axle # SSF-106-47 and the SumoSprings Maxim Springs # SSR-106-47-1. The primary difference between the SumoSpring Maxim Helper Springs such as part # SSR-106-47-1 and the Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs, part # F2153 is that the air helper springs are adjustable, you can add or remove air pressure from the system to adjust the ride firmness.
