Best Sumo Springs For 2022 Nexus Viper V25/ Ford E450

Updated 10/02/2025 | Published 08/28/2025

Question:

We just purchased a used 2022 Nexus Viper V25 with a Ford E450 2021. Im looking at the SSR-106-1 set up for the rear. I measured from the sidewall of the inner tire to the frame on the drivers side, it looks to be 8.5 inches, on the passenger side it appears to be right at 7 inches. Am I good with just the 7 inches? Also, just got done installing a Hellwig HE78RR rear sway bar, would that interfere with the space needed for the Sumospring?

Hello Harold, thanks for reaching out. The SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-106-47-1 are the correct fit for your 2022 Nexus Viper/Ford E450. The 7" of clearance is the bare minimum for them to fit, so as long as you have 7" or more between the sidewall of the tire and the frame you will be good.

The Hellwig sway bar will not interfere with the Sumo Springs. it is quite common for folks to use these products in tandem.

Hey Harold, did the SumoSprings fit well with the 7 inches of clearance on your Nexus Viper? I’d love to know how it all worked out for you, as it could give others confidence when installing similar setups.

@JesseM - I'm hoping to tackle those big baby buggy bumbers next Wednesday. Working on the sound reduction in the cab this weekend. I'll hopefully let you know by Thursday how it worked out.

@JesseM They worked out perfect on our 2022 Nexus Viper V25. Removed three of the mounting bolts that were holding the fuel/brake lines on the Driver's side in order to put a board between the lines and the frame before drilling into the frame. Rigged up the fuel/brake line supports with some homemade spacers to avoid having the lines rubbing up against any of the new bolts holding the bracket for the SumoSpring. On the passenger side it was much easier since there were no fuel/brake lines to worry about behind the frame. I did tie off the four LP gas lines running to the LP tank to they would not be touching the SumoSpring bracket. We had already installed new shocks and front/rear sway bars but installing the front and rear SumoSprings really did the trick. The shocks and sway bars helped in keeping all six wheels on the road. The SumoSprings really has eliminated the white knuckle experience of driving a Class C and smoothed out the ride. We're actually looking forward to loading all of gear into the Viper to really see how much more the ride has improved.
