When you’re towing a trailer or hauling a full bed of gear, sag and sway can make the drive stressful. The Hellwig EZ-990 Helper Springs add up to 2,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to keep your truck level and stable under light to moderate loads. They work with your factory leaf springs to reduce body roll and maintain ride height so steering, braking, and headlight aim stay consistent even when you’re loaded down.
A bumpy ride can wear out your suspension and make every mile rough. These helper springs flex with your factory leaf springs to limit bounce while keeping the truck steady. By sharing the load, they help extend the life of your original suspension parts, tires, and brakes while giving you a smoother, more controlled ride on highways or uneven roads.
Not every load is the same, and sometimes one side of the truck carries more weight than the other. The adjustable U-bolts on the EZ-990 let you dial in tension for different loads, and each side can be set independently when things aren’t evenly balanced. That flexibility helps keep your truck level across both sides so you stay stable when hauling uneven cargo.
Adding extra support shouldn’t mean tearing your truck apart. The EZ-990’s bolt-on design mounts above your existing leaf springs using included hardware—no complicated modifications or special tools needed. The step bracket style keeps it clear of factory hardware, making the install straightforward for any DIYer with basic tools and a place to work.
Repeated towing and heavy hauling can take a toll on parts that aren’t built tough. The Hellwig EZ-990 uses durable steel construction with a silver vein hammer tone powder coat finish that resists corrosion trip after trip. Once installed, it’s built for years of dependable support without letting you down under pressure.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer. Today we're looking at the Hellwig EZ-990 Helper Springs for Above Axle application. Now folks, these are custom. They're gonna mount to existing attachment points on your vehicle, so make sure you're checking the fit guide over at etrailer.com where it says My Vehicle Information. Anything like year, make, and model, two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, anything it asks to be sure you getting the right parts the first time.
Now I do want to point out that I just have these loosely fit on here today just for your viewing pleasure, and, as you can see, these only have one nut on 'em each. Per the instructions, they would have two nuts on each threaded bolt. So keep that in mind, and make sure you follow the instructions whenever you're making your installation and everything. Now I do want to take one of these off and kind of show you the end and then kind of show you this hammered finish here. It's like a silver/gray black mix, a nice hammered finish, very nice design.
It's going to eliminate pretty much, keep rust, corrosion, those kind of things from happening. And the nice thing about this kit is you can independently adjust it, giving you a balance for uneven loads and those kind of things, and it's gonna help with reducing sway. It's gonna minimize that body roll whenever you're making corners and when you're towing and stuff and just enhance that rear suspension, thus giving you improved braking, steering, and those kind of things. So, again, you have the nice Silver Vein hammertone coating to ensure durability and preventing rust, and then you have everything here you need for installation as well. Folks, that will wrap up our quick look together.
I'm Steven. Thanks for watching, and have a great day.

Glad to hear they are helping, Thomas! Looks like you have a pretty good amount of weight back there as well, so that's quite the compliment! ^___^ What kind of bike is that? Couldn't tell from the picture.

I bought another pick up, so I took these off my old one and installed on my newer truck, still works absolutely great. Highly recommend.
