1,500-lb Capacity. Upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension with these maintenance-free helper springs. Sturdy microcellular urethane springs cushion bumps and help support a heavy load to level your ride and minimize sway. No-drill installation.

Specs:
Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.
SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.
The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.
The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.
These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).
SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.
The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Install was a breeze, 25 minutes, 2 wrenches and a socket.
Used the 1” Spacer for additional preload.
Gives me about 1 1/4” of open travel(bounce) before the Sumos make contact. Loaded up my RTT and camping gear along with the fam and the Sumos kicked in. Feels like I have a Sumo Wrestler on each corner of the frame in the rear supporting my load. I was looking for assistance in the rear to reduce the squat. Tried Firestone Air Bags, didn’t work out. Bought into RoadActive Suspension, doesn’t work with aftermarket leafs. Sumo was a desired choice but I felt iffy about the concept.
Happy with the outcome. I’m sure the truck is happy as well.
I have a 2018 Ford F150 RAPTOR. Although the towing capacity for the Raptor is 8200 lbs, personally I won't take it much past 6000 lbs in order to be safe and be easier on the engine. I've included a picture of my Raptor with my 5800 lbs Coachman 23LT ADRENALINE toy hauler trailer with a BLUE OX SYSTEM weight distribution hitch. With the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle - as you can see in the picture - I get no squat whatsoever -- in fact, I'm still sitting up with a slight downward rake while towing. When I hit potholes or bumps, I really don't feel the SumoSprings compressing and keeping the suspension stiffer. Actually, I don't feel the SumoSprings at all. I have very little sway, except when I'm doing 65 mph and an eighteen wheeler passes me, I get an ever so slight pull toward the big rig from the low pressure it creates as it pushes air out of its path, but I simply add a little bit of steering opposite the eighteen wheeler and it immediately straightens up and stays straight. Overall, I am impressed with SumoSprings and I would never ever tow anything again without them, because it stops the sag. (About 20 yrs ago, I used to get oncoming bright lights constantly flashed at me in the old days because my trailer caused my truck to sag and the front end lift, and people thought I had my bright lights on all the time).
These were shipped to me mid-trip so I had a good chance to do a before and after with same loads/ same roads for 3100 miles. They were easy to install (in my daughters driveway) in about an hour with one reluctant bolt in the original bump stop. I did not install the hard spacer, I figured I’d add it later if needed. I was able to do the install w/o jacking up the whole truck using a 1 1/2 ton jack under the hitch receiver w/ a jackstand next to it. I needed just a few inches as there’s lots of room under the stock height truck (I was lying on a piece of cardboard). The helper springs didn’t quite touch the axle when the jack was removed. When I first drove it in town with the Sumo’s on it they were not really noticeable. When loaded up with my 22’ Livin’ Lite Axxess trailer (4300lbs with 650lb hitch weight) the rear end would squish into the overload springs a good 3/4” but the truck was about level w/o rear end sag.
Driving home over many of the same roads I noticed it was better over railroad crossings and rhythmic bumps on the highway that previously pitched it fore and aft. The trucks manners were much better overall during big hits (like hitting a curb- yup) and pulling off-highway. The trailer is low so it doesn’t go very far off road so I can’t report on that.
Overall for ease of ordering, of install, simple usage w/o need of airlines and effective control of the rearend of the truck and the trailer I feel they deserve the 5 stars.

Still happy overall with the performance. I have noticed that they do affect the truck more when it is unloaded not towing than I previously thought, on a medium size bump in the street you will feel it hit the sumo’s for example. Since I’m still not doing any hi-speed off roading I’m not very worried about it. But overall I am still happy with my purchase.
The SumoSprings have worked great! I have loaded down my Ford Raptor truck many times now. This includes towing a horse trailer, loaded hay trailer, and pontoon boat. All times the Sumosprings prevented my truck from "squatting" too much. I am glad I purchased them!
Worked great. Exactly what I was looking for.

Yay! It's a load off my shoulders knowing these are working well for you ;)
Ordered these for my 2018 Ford Raptor which is mainly used as an everyday and long road trip vehicle. First test run I installed the spacers that came with it. Was a bit bumpy without a load on it. Took a whole 5 mins to take the spacers off and so far she feels normal without the load. Keeping the spacers under the seat incase I need to haul a real heavy load again. Overall really great product, durable, easy assembly and no need for hassling with airbags. Definitely was worth it! I have peace of mind now that my shocks won't wear out or bottom out when hauling a load.
Work great still a good ride . Pull a 32 ft 5th wheel behind a Ford Raptor no sag or sway .

STOP THE SAG !!! After 1 year, my review is the same: Im loading about 6000 lbs onto a 2018 Ford Raptor 8200 lbs towing capacity with the BLUE OX SYSTEM weight distribution hitch. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle Part Number: SS52GR continue to be worry-free after one year. No sag when towing, I have never felt a harsh ride over bumps and potholes, and I dont even feel them at all when Im not towing. They should have just been factory equipped from Ford.
