Today we're going to look at the Kodiak XL Pro Lube Oil Bath Hub Body and Cap for 1.98 inch hubs. Now this part will replace the body and the cap for the Kodiak XL Pro Lube Oil Bath Hubs. Now this unscrews from the body. The cap is a nice clear blue carbonate, polycarbonate cap that you can see in the level of the oil, has a nice rubber oil plug in the middle here. There's a rubber O-ring on the threads. The aluminum body is a nice lightweight aluminum construction; has the threads in it. You just thread that in there, and once you get it threaded down there you just snug it up.
This is designed to fit 1.98 inch hubs which are usually the 3500 pound axle. This part includes the body and the cap. Now the seals for the hub are not included. We do sell those separately on our website, and they are usually listed on this product page as a related product. They are the right parts I ordered, but they took a long time to arrive. Other than that, no problems.
Don't know if it was these being too big or your hubs being to small. Extremely tight fit. Did get them halfway seated and had a tough time from there. Most likely will have to destroy them when I have to remove them
Needed these caps quick as my originals had cracked. Shipping over night is always expensive but etrailer came through and got me my parts and saved the fishing trip
There parts arrived on time and fit my boat trailer perfectly.
Put these on our 5th wheel travel trailer several years ago. Easy to install and never have to repack wheel bearings. Just check the oil level and go. Only issue we've had was when the tire people cracked the plastic cap while installing new tires. I will definitely put these on future trailers.
These are great. No more grease seals blowing grease all over my disc brakes. Took a 2500 mile trip, worked perfectly.
I purchased this as a way to easily access my Bearing lube axles, and still be waterproof (it's a boat trailer) build quality is very nice, however it is allumminum and It got marred up when I installed, so I just went back to the original caps.
I installed Kodiak wet hubs on my fifth wheel about 3 years ago. At least once a year, one of the polycarbonate caps cracks within the threads and produces a slow leak of oil. I made my own aluminum wrench for the caps and don't tighten them down much more than wrist tight (about 15 FT LB) so it must be inherent with these polycarbonate caps. Anyways ... etrailer sent me what I needed with fast shipping.

The oil bath hubs along with the disc brake kit are the best upgrades I’ve made to my living quarters horse trailer. No more hassles with keeping the hubs properly lubricated.
Replaced the old caps on my 2005 Stratos tandem axle. Worked like a charm. They are a super snug fit and being aluminum I was afraid to mess them up but finally got them in. Hope I never have to take them off! I wish they were just a little longer, these are recessed quite a bit inside the beauty ring more than the old ones. Overall great product though and should make oil changes much easier.

The caps were a direct replacement for our customer and are a perfect fit!!
I purchased 4 of these to do all my bearing on the trailer when they went bad. I have had to us three of them on the same wheel, as it kepts leaking after a couple of months. It is always around the rubber seal in the front of the hub. None of my original hubs have gone bad in that time frame. I need to find a different brand before I get stranded somewhere I can't fix it.

According to Kodiak, Its more likely that the silver oil bath body is faulty than 3 different caps.
Totally satisfied with the product. Had to modify the caps but I'm thinking it's due to the spindle and not a fault with the product. A minor problem with the rubber plug keeps it from being a 5 star

Not good....plug leaks on both sides
My boat trailer has been on oil bath for ten years. I will never have a greased trailer bearing again. This product easily converts existing hubs to oil bath. Installed easily and looking forward to smooth operation.
Perfect fit for my Coastline Boat trailer. I like the ability to "see" inside. Appear to be water tight. Great product.

So far so good. Saltwater boat trailer and they have been working well. No issues.
This is a replacement for the same hub body and cap whose polycarbonate cap had broken--cracked and leaking. Other than that, these oil-bath hubs have proven fine over the years. A clear, rather than a blue tint on the caps would make viewing the oil level a bit easier.--jg
