2004 Dodge Sprinter - Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater - Frost Plug Style - 120V - 400 Watts - 38 mm

  • Engine Block Heater
  • Frost Plug Style
  • Kats Heaters
  • 400 Watts
  • CSA Approved

This frost-plug heater replaces the frost plug in your engine block and submerges in the coolant to keep engine fluids from thickening. Results in easier start-ups, faster heating of your cab, and less wear and tear on your Dodge Sprinter in cold weather.

Features:

  • Ensures smoother start-ups and faster heating and defrosting of your cab
    • Replaces frost plug (core plug) in engine block and submerges in coolant
  • Warms engine fluid to increase lubrication and performance
    • Keeps fluid from thickening and protects against damage in cold weather
  • Pre-heats engine to reduce condensation in the engine block
    • Emits less pollution and fewer gas emissions
  • Includes removable power cord
    • Route through your grille and plug into standard 120-volt AC outlet
  • Constructed of corrosion-resistant brass
  • Custom fit for your vehicle
  • CSA approved
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Diameter: 38 mm
  • Wattage: 400 watts
  • Amperage: 3.3 amps
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Notes:

  • Do not use this heater with a 100-percent antifreeze solution.
  • Do not start your engine with the heater plugged in.

Start your engine easier and warm your cab faster in cold weather with this frost-plug-style engine block heater. Heating your engine coolant keeps it from thickening and freezing, resulting in more reliable start-ups and smoother operation altogether. It also lessens the workload and extends the life of your vehicle's battery. And because starting your engine when it's warm creates less condensation in the engine block than starting it when it's cold, your engine will get better initial fuel vaporization, which causes fewer emissions and less pollution.

This frost-plug heater replaces the core plug in your engine block. The power cord on the heater is removable so that you won't need to buy a whole new heater if the cord gets damaged. The cord can be routed through your grille for easy access to a 120-volt outlet or extension cord. If needed, a longer or shorter cord (sold separately) can be purchased to better fit your application. Make sure the heating element is fully submerged in the coolant before plugging it in.

Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater-KH11483

Hello, neighbors. I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at a Kats heaters. It's a custom engine block heater for the frost plug connection style, and it's a 38 millimeter. Now, folks, this does fit a couple applications from '04, all the way up to '08, including the Chrysler, Dodge and Freightliners with the diesel engines and also the Chrysler Crossfire 3.2 liter V6 engine. Now, that being said, please ensure you're double-checking the fit with our fit guide.

Go to the homepage here at etrailer.com. Top center of that page, there's a spot that says vehicle information. Enter your year, make a model and make sure you're getting the right parts for your specific vehicle. Now, folks, this does ensure a smoother startup and a much faster heating and defrosting of your cab by simply replacing the frost plug or the core plug in your engine block, and this will submerge in the coolant, and then it's gonna warm the engine fluid to increase lubrication and performance. So you're getting the ring here.

You're getting the five-foot plug. That five-foot plug is actually replaceable as well, and you get, again, the 38-millimeter connection style heater. So you can see that little heating element in there. Again, this plugs in. It installs in there.

You got the ring included. Very simple operation, very simple design. Now, this, again, will preheat the engine and reduce condensation in your engine block. It's gonna also emit less pollution and fewer gas emissions. It's gonna include, again, that power cord and that ring.

It does route through your grill and simply plugs into a standard 120-volt AC outlet, and everything here is constructed of the brass here. So it's gonna be corrosion resistant. It is custom fit for the vehicles I mentioned before. It's CSA approved and made here in the USA. Now, folks, I wanna point out, do not use this heater with a 100% anti-freeze solution and also never start your engine with the heater still plugged in. Now, it's got 400 watts rating and a 3.3 amp rating. It's a nice one-year warranty and like I said, made here in the US. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our Kats custom heater engine block heater. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching. Stay safe.

  • Recommended Oil Pan Heater for a 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 with 2.7L I5 Engine
I have a few options for your 2006 Dodge Sprinter 2500 with 2.7L I5 Engine, a block heater like the Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater part # KH11483 or an engine oil pan heater like the Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad part # KH24500. I recommend the block heater as it's a custom fit, designed for your exact vehicle whereas the oil pan heater is a universal stick-on type. I agree that an oil pan heater with direct submersion would be best but this is unfortunately...

  • Replacement Engine Block Heater Cord For An Kat's Engine Block Heater
The Replacement Power Cord for Kat's Heaters Frost Plug Block Heaters # KH28500 for the Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater # KH11483 does not fit your 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. • Does Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater Have Built-In Thermostat
The Kat's Heaters Custom Engine Block Heater # KH11483 does not have a thermostat in it so when you plug it in it just starts heating up. It's recommended to plug it in 2-4 hours prior to starting the vehicle to get everything warm enough. I confirmed this with my contact at Kat's Heaters.
