The toolbox sits just 2" above the truck bed rails instead of the standard 4," providing a better view out the back window for maneuvering or keeping an eye on your load. The insulated, beveled, single lid opens fully to 90 degrees with the help of two super-duty lift cylinders, which raise the lid and hold it open as you load and unload your gear. Smaller items and tools can be stored conveniently on the divided, sliding tray, ensuring they are readily available for use.

Video Transcript for UWS Truck Bed Toolbox: The Breakdown

Today we're going to review the UWS's Truck Bed Toolbox, part number UWS00368. This box is built here in the USA, and it's made of .063 inch aluminum tread plate. It's covered by a one year warranty and it has 6.9 cubic feet of usable space. Next we're going to show you some measurements. To do that, we need to open the lid first as boxes are measured without the lid. We'll grab this latch here and we'll be able to open the box just by pulling this latch.

There is a connecting rod that connects this latch to the other latch, so operating one latch opens both. The box measures 63 inches long, it measures 19 1/4 inches wide, and it's about 13 1/2 inches deep. Inside the box you will notice a few features. The lid is reinforced and strengthened so you can grab one corner of the box and the lid will stay stiff and allow you to close the whole box just from one corner. There's a piano hinge that runs the full length of the lid.

There's a pair of gas struts that will help open the lid and hold it open while you load and unload the box. Inside the box are two storage compartments on either end and there's also a sliding tray. Above the storage area of the box is a sliding tray that'll help you keep your small items organized and handy and you can slide the tray almost the entire length of the box so you can easily access what's underneath. There is a lock built into one of the latches so that you can secure the box and protect the contents. That does it for our review of the UWS Truck Bed Tool Box, part number UWS00368..

Tool box seemed nice for the price however had to return it due to an incorrect recommendation from etrailer. I wanted to put this on with the tool box compatible tonneau cover they sell, however the cover blocked the latches at the header. I even challenged the e-trailer rep on that point and he assured me fitment would be fine. Pain re-boxing and transporting to the carrier. Needlesswast of my time and put me off schedule. I will say customer service on the return has been great so far. We will see as it is still in transit back. If you have issues call because in spite of sending e-mails from the rep you purchased product from they do not respond. Another annoying waste of my time. In all fairness I will shop etrailer in the future provided my return completes without issue.

After 2 weeks I finally got my toolbox this is good for a 2001 Ford ranger stepside it doesn't say it would fit but I measured it before I bought it had one little ding in the corner but I touched it up with spray paint overall it's an excellent toolbox and it fit perfectly this is originally for a Chevy S10 but I measured it and it fits good I would recommend this to anyone who owns a Ford ranger stepside! Check out the pictures you can see how well it fits! It is hard to find a toolbox that fits a Ford ranger stepside I used to work in the Marine Corps parts department in the motor pool so I know how to measure parts at first they said this wouldn't fit my truck but I told them I measured it!

I have owned this UWS took box for over a year now hard to believe it has been that long. The tool box is holding up good no problems just tightened the j-hooks was all I drive on bumpy roads here in Idaho so it handles the snow rain and dust nothing gets inside its dry as a bone. I can even stand on toolbox if I need to its that sturdy. This fits my 2002 Ford Ranger Stepside even though it says doesnt fit my bed is not as wide as normal rangers they need to change that in will this item fit your truck yes it does. The paint is holding up and the locking mechanism no problems there. People notice it but when they here the price they buy cheaper tool boxes but in my opinion you get what you pay for. I give this box 5 stars for durability and quality you will not be disappointed if you purchase a UWS toolbox.

This toolbox is a true work of art! Excellent craftsmanship in the welds. The latches work well and the top opens up nicely. I received the toolbox fast. It was well packaged for protection against shipping damage. It even came shipped in 2 boxes. The care this company took in protecting the toolbox during shipment assures me that they care about their product.

Other than the weather stripping falling off the lid, the box still looks and works like new. The lid opens and shuts with ease and the locking mechanism still functions perfectly.

I've had this tool box for about a year. Its held up well without issue. This replaced a 9 year old tool box from Lowes that cracked at the bed support. So far so good on this one. The locking and opening mechanism works great and is covered so things dont bind it up. The only strange thing is that after a windy snow storm there was snow inside the tool box and I hadn't driven anywhere.

Toolbox is still holding strong, even after a snowy Idaho winter. I would recommend to upgrade the seal as I did find some snow on the inside from the windsnow in Idaho.

When I purchased the toolbox I forgot to mention that I have a bed liner in my vehicle. Therefore I had to put a 3/4 inch spacer on the top bed rails so the bottom of the toolbox would clear the bed liner over the wheel wells and fuel tank spout. Other then that I really have enjoyed the toolbox and have gotten many compliments as well.

I was so happy to get this for my son. The only one i could find that would fit his ranger at the time. he uses it every day and it works great after one year. packaging , no scratches, and installed so easy that i went and bought me one. would recommend. sorry not much for technology or i would have added photos.

Been happy with my purchase. I gave it 4/5 stars because it arrived with a dent on the lid that I was able to remove with a rubber mallet and a 2x4. The metal inside reflects poor workmanship. There are some sharp edges near the latch mechanism that I discovered firsthand after reaching in there. Aside from those issues it has functioned well and I find the dual lid release latches are convenient.
