If you need extra storage without the look of an over-the-rail, crossover toolbox, the chest style is a perfect solution. Much like standard toolboxes, the chest will sit flush against the front of the truck bed; the wedge shape allows it to fit around the wheel well, freeing up more space in the truck bed. As two super-duty lift cylinders raise and lower the lid, an offset hinge allows the insulated beveled lid to open up to 90 degrees without coming into contact with the cab.

    The UWS Truck Bed Chest # UWS01047 doesn't come with any mounting hardware and doesn't actually have any holes predrilled into it for mounting so it would be a custom job to mount it. That being said you could just drill through the bottom of the box and through the bed of your truck and use some larger washers and bolts to mount it, like you stated. I do recommend using some gasket maker # LT37467 over the bolts so you don't run the risk of water getting inside of your tool box though.
