If you need extra storage without the look of an over-the-rail, crossover toolbox, the chest style is a perfect solution. Much like standard toolboxes, the chest will sit flush against the front of the truck bed; the wedge shape allows it to fit around the wheel well, freeing up more space in the truck bed. As two super-duty lift cylinders raise and lower the lid, an offset hinge allows the insulated beveled lid to open up to 90 degrees without coming into contact with the cab.

Excellent tool box and surprisingly durable, would purchase a second one but this one has more than enough storage space for a carry along tool box, all your fluids, straps, tire chains, and some other stuff??

No surprises, this product was exactly as promised. Unit sits just below bed-rail height, perfect for 5th Wheels. Also makes it out of view for most part, although it looks great. Has remained water-tight through winter road trips and lots of space for all that stuff we carry 'just in case'.

Toolbox arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was everything was as expected. I drilled my own holes to secure the toolbox to the bed of the truck, nice and clean look hidden from view about the bed.

- Can UWS Truck Bed Chest Tool Box # UWS01047 Fit 2017 Ford F-350 with 5th Wheel and TonneauThe overall height of the UWS Truck Bed Chest # UWS01047 is 17-1/4 inches which is going to be shorter than the height of your truck bedrails so it will pretty easily fit underneath your tonneau cover. Now without knowing the length of your bed and the fifth wheel hitch you have it's harder to say if the box would interfere but I can tell you that the box will take up 20 inches of your truck bed from the front of the bed back so you'd need to measure your truck bed to determine if that...

That being said you could just drill through the bottom of the box and through the bed of your truck and use some larger washers and bolts to mount it, like you stated. I do recommend using some gasket maker # LT37467 over the bolts so you don't run the risk of water getting inside of your tool box though.
