Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

  • Recommended Electric Fan For Transmission Cooler On 2007 GMC Yukon XL 5.3L
We sure do! The correct fan will be dependent on the size of the transmission cooler installed on your 2007 GMC Yukon CL 5.3L. More than likely the Derale 8" Tornado Electric Fan - 500 CFM # D16508 would be close enough in size to work properly, and would give you the additional air flow you are wanting for the cooler. If you find your transmission cooler is less than 8" tall just let me know and I would be happy to recommend the correct fan for you. I included a video of the # D16508...

  • Does Derale Atomic-Cool Mount in Front of Radiator of 2012 Jeep Liberty
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 is actually designed to mount away from the front of the vehicle it is being installed on, which in your case is a 2012 Jeep Liberty. Apart from that there are no specific spots this kit is meant to be mounted as it is a more universal application; it can be mounted anywhere else that you have space to fit its 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep dimensions. If you wanted a cooler that is designed to mount in front of...

  • Bypassing Factory Transmission Cooler on a 2006 Ford F-250 with 5.4 Liter
If the chamber walls inside the radiator that separate the transmission cooling portion with the coolant portion have cracked, ruptured, or are otherwise leaking then you would have to either replace the radiator or plug up the transmission fluid inlet and outlet ports on the radiator and instead use a supplemental cooler as the main cooler. In this situation I recommend a remote cooler such as # D13950 that will have its own fan. That way you are ensured to get the optimum amount of cooling...

  • Best Transmission Cooler for Off-Roading in a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser in Year-Round Warm Climate
The Class rating applied to transmission coolers is to help simplify choosing a cooler for a vehicle. Basically you would think about it in terms of a hitch class rating. So for example if your 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser has a Class III hitch then a transmission cooler shown as a Class III is a good match. But ultimately you can use any cooler that fits in the intended mounting location. Derale transmission cooler # D13503 is a very popular option. It is a Class III but if you want something...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for Jeep Grand Cherokee that Does Low Speed Off-Roading
I would highly recommend a transmission cooler for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since you will be doing low-speed off-roading I would recommend a kit that comes with a fan so that you can ensure the cooler gets air-flow like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13950. This comes with everything needed to install including lines and fittings but to make installing the cooler easier you would want the radiator adapter part # D13034 to prevent you from having to go through...

  • Will a Remote Transmission Cooler Fit a 2005 Ford F-250 with 5.4 Liter
The great thing about the Derale remote transmission cooler # D13950 is that you can mount it where ever you have space. Since it has its own fan it does not have to be placed out in front of the motor. This will allow you to position it in the place with the most room and that does include areas outside of the engine compartment! The only stipulation you will want to follow is not to place it too low or to where the fan or fins are facing the ground because something could bounce up from...

The # D13950 Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan can be used in your 1969 Camaro with 5.7L Engine. I reached out to Derale and they confirmed this. This cooler is designed to be mounted anywhere. According to the installation manual, the purpose is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser. This cooler can be mounted anywhere space permits. Always keep in mind that the cooler still needs...

  • What Is the Amp Draw of the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit D13950
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 will draw up to 4.8 amps. In regards to fluid capacity, this is not a figure that Derale provides. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4 SE and 6K Trailer
For a trailer weighing 6,000 pounds I recommend going with a stacked-plate cooler because they will be the most efficient and will provide the best cooling compared to the other cooler options. For a kit you can use # D13403. For the best cooling you can get a cooler that comes with its own fan like # D13950. This will provide the optimum cooling no matter where the unit is mounted. • Will the Derale Atomic-Cool Transmission Cooler Fit on a 2009 Silverado 1500 Z71 4WD
The ideal operating temperature for transmission fluid should remain between 160 and 200 degrees. If your transmission fluid was reaching 195 degrees when towing your fifth wheel trailer, it would be a good idea to either upgrade your factory added cooler or add an additional transmission cooler because this temperature could increase if you are towing on in hot weather or through hills where the engine and transmission will be working harder than on flat ground. • Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler for 2018 GMC Acadia SLT with V6
Transmission and oil coolers are not vehicle-specific; you can essentially install any one for which you have the space available to install it. When it comes to coolers bigger is better. And if you want the best cooling even at lower speeds, such as when driving in mountainous areas, you might consider a remote-mount fan-powered cooler like the Derale Atomic Cool # D13950, an efficient plate-fin type cooler that will lower your transmission temperature even at low speeds since it does...

  • Recommendation for a Supplemental Transmission Cooler for a 2007 Ford F-150 with 5.4 Liter Engine
Based on the information you have provided, which I greatly appreciate, a standard supplemental cooler should be sufficient for your needs. Ideally you want the transmission temperature to be no more than 200 degrees F. Mounting a larger cooler directly behind the grille (in front of everything else) such as # D13504 should get you to the ideal range. You will also want fitting # D13025 so you will not have to cut and flare any lines. A remote cooler with its own fan will provide the optimum...

  • Do Inlet And Outlet Ports Need To Be Mounted In A Particular Direction On Derale Cooler, # D13950
The ports on the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, # D13950, do not need to be mounted in any particular direction. The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter. You will want to choose the inlet or outlet port location by what will make your installation easier. Since this cooler comes with a fan-mounted heat exchanger you can mount the exchanger wherever you want because the fan will provide optimum airflow.
