Keeping your license plate visible at night doesn’t take much power with this light. The Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light w/ Bracket uses 5 white diodes behind a clear lens to throw bright, even illumination across the plate. It’s built for 12V DC systems and only draws 0.046 amps at 12.8V, so it won’t overload your running light circuit or blow fuses like older incandescent setups. Plus, LEDs last up to 50 times longer than bulbs—no filaments, no replacements, just steady light every time you turn on your lights.
No complicated connections here. The light uses a basic 2-wire setup—black for power and white for ground—making it easy to tie into your trailer’s running light circuit. You can ground it directly to clean metal or connect it into an existing ground wire. That simplicity makes adding or replacing a plate light quick work, whether you’re wiring it on a trailer frame or mounting it to a cargo rack.
The ABS plastic mounting bracket and polycarbonate lens give this light a solid feel without adding weight or rust-prone metal parts. Its rectangular housing measures 8-5/8" wide x 3-1/4" tall x 2-5/16" long, with mounting holes spaced 3-3/8" apart on center for secure installation. The clear lens and sealed LED unit resist vibration and road wear, keeping the output bright and focused where you need it most.
Efficiency is built in. At less than one-twentieth of an amp draw per light, this LED bracket setup delivers strong light with barely any electrical load. That low draw helps prevent common issues like blown fuses on shared circuits. And because the LEDs carry a lifetime warranty, you can wire it once and forget about maintenance for years of dependable performance.

I ordered the LED License plate light/bracket to replace an old broken one on my 1984 13' Scamp camp trailer. The renovation of my trailer is not yet complete but the new light/bracket along with the new LED tail/signal/brake lights also from etrailer, will make the old camper look like new from the rear. The composite, non-metal construction should insure long life that is free from rust, & the LED lights will 'draw' less energy while lasting much longer than incandescent.
I love the LED tail lights that I purchased for our travel trailer. Exceptionally bright and they give me a lot more confidence driving down the road both in daylight hours and after dark. The trailer manufactures should be installing these tail lights from the get go. They were easy to hookup and install and the full size foam rubber gasket makes a great seal. The picture you see with my review isn't of the tail lights.
POS used by Thor to make you purchase a $[XX] plus hunk of plastic to replace a fifty cent light bulb! What [bull]. Warren Buffet screwing the little guy.
Perfit fit
I like the idea that this product has a lifetime warranty on the lights if they should burn out. Very pleased with the difference over factory installed lights.
This plate mount with light is the exact replacement part for my boat trailer.
Perfect! And of course E-Trailers service is consistently fantastic! Thanks team!

Light still performing as required!
I did a little engineering on it, but it did a great job. Even a Police Officer at the beach commented positively about it.
The first license plate lights that doesn't break when you back your boat trailer into the water while it's running. Yea LEDS!

Working great
This worked very well to mount and light my license plate when I removed the OEM lights that had an integrated mounting for the plate. It was easy to mount and wire to the existing trailer license plate lighting circuit. I'm very pleased with the finished result.

It has worked perfectly. Illuminates the license plate and provides a mounting point.

All is well. Thanks
This kit works, but not in the configuration delivered. If you purchase this, be prepared to find an alternate method to mount the lights. You will likely need to modify the cargo carrier to make this work.
The lights are sealed units that are normally flush mounted on larger trailers. Mounts have been added with self-tapping screws that easily strip out of the housing and the mounts fall off the lights. The screws in the kit were smaller in diameter than the holes in the mounts, both front and back, making them useless. I tried attaching the lights using zip ties and just the mount on the light portion, but that failed when the mount screws stripped out of the lights. I did not have the issue with the wiring being too short like other reviewers. My wiring was actually a little too long.
To actually install this kit reliably, here what you need:
- Silicone
- Super Glue
- Screwdriver (Flat or Phillips Depending on Screw Choice)
- Wire Cutters (To Cut the Ends off of Anchors)
- 9/32" Drill Bit
- 4x #6x1.5" Machine Screw
- 4x #6x0.75" Anchors
How I installed mine:
1. Remove the plastic bracket supplied with the light. Fill the holes with silicone so that the lights are sealed again. Check in a couple minutes to ensure that the silicone didn't drip through. Add more as needed until the hole is filled.
2. Trim the ends off of your anchors so that they fit in the two plastic circles on the back of the lights. Just a little bit will do. Test fit them to make sure they go all the way in. Once you're sure they fit, super glue just the bevel at the top to the light. This is to prevent them from turning in the hole because the plastic on the light is really smooth.
3. Drill two 9/32" holes in the rear upright bars of the carrier. Make the holes 1/4" from the edge so you can still connect the wiring. Space the holes at 2 5/16". The holes need to go through the front and back of the uprights.
4. Put the screws through the back holes pointing outwards. Once the super glue has dried, screw the screws into the anchors.
5. Connect the wiring per the supplied instructions.
Nice sturdy bracket and matches my new tail lights. Led and bright. Just what I wanted. I will attach a photo.
The led lights look great and were easy to install . The license plate holder finished the off the project.

They are still working great and looking good
Based on other reviews of these lights, I had no doubt that they would be brighter than the Bargman Series 92 incandescent lights that came standard on my trailer. The issue was whether or not the 12-13 degree return slope on the back of my trailer (see picture) would adversely affect their visibility because some LED lights are "directional. The bottom line is that I think they work very well despite the slight downward aim. The attached video shows my test of one of the new lights taped into position (right) compared to one of the old lights (left). The video does not due justice to the brightness of the new fixture, but you can clearly see how much sharper the "flash" of the light is compared to the old one. Two notes regarding installation; (1) there is very little space in the back of the fixture for wires so you need to be able to center the fixture on the whole in the trailer to push extra wire into, and (2) yo can configure these lights to be 1/2 stop/tail and 1/2 turn/tail if your trailer is wired appropriately.
Needed rear license holder when installing new Bragman LED surface mount lights.
Holder was easy to install an works great.
This license bracket was just what I needed to replace a broken one on my RV. This unit is well made, with a nice finish and a bright light. Better than original equipment!
Exceptional and inexpensive LED-lit license plate mount/bracket.
I ordered this item (online) on a Sunday, and received a human confirmation e-mail that evening! Item was shipped the next day (Monday). Very Easy installation. Photos (3) attached. If you need an illuminated license plate bracket, BUY THIS ONE!
See photo, with a little modification it worked out extremely well.
Just wanted to tell you that I have finally installed the product I ordered
from etrailer.com, and I must say that it is by far the best product I have
ever used. They are bright, and very visible even during daytime. Attached is the finished product that I installed on my travel trailer. I
hope that other consumer like me will find this very helpful to buy from
etrailer.com.
works great !!!
This worked okay for a cargo rack but is intended for a trailer. It probably is perfect on a trailer so I'll give it 5 stars. I will consider a different design if I need to replace it for my cargo rack. So far it is holding up. There isn't much structure that the cargo rack provides.
This is one of the few license plate lights that would work for me. As you can see in the picture I have it mounted on top of the license plate, above the lamp. The attached bracket made for an easy installation. The wires were kind of short (about 8") because of the way I mounted it so I had to extend to wires.
I did not want to mount my plate on the bottom of the tail lamp assembly to utilize the built-in license plate light because it was to low to the ground and was always dragging loading and unloading the trailer. The product made an easy DIY modification to keep me on the good side of the men and women in blue.
Easy enough to install and it looks like it will do the job for quite a while. Would have given it five stars, but it seemed like it needed a gasket or something between the hard plastic housing and the gel coat of my motorhome. I made one easy enough, but it would have been nice if it came with something in the box.
Product worked perfectly for what we were using it for. I purchased a motorcycle and needed to move the license plate bracket to be able to add bags. I found your bracket online, knowing we were going to have to jerry rig it to where we wanted to mount it. I was a little suprised the bracket was plastic when I received it, but still worked great. A friend made 2 mounting brackets from a flat bar, cutting and bending them to the length and angle we needed. Drilled holes and mounted them under the rear fender. Mounted the license plate bracket on the other ends of the custom brackets and wired it in for lights.
