Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2002 Buick Century

Perfect fit on 2002 Buick CentTwo side holes a little tough to drill,
otherwise no problems.

by:

Fits perfect. Easy to install. U-Haul said they could not do it for my vehicle. Great service and instruction videos

by:
2006 Buick LaCrosse

Hitch installed with no hitches, took around an hour,
I would recommend it.

by:

Very heavy duty hitch! Good buy, easy to install. A right angle drill will make it quicker and easier.

by:

All the products for my hitch were delivered much sooner than I expected and the order was right and everything fit correctly. It is seldom that a person gets this kind of service and and even better to talk to a live and knowledgeable person.

by:

Ordered on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday. That is VERY fast!! The hitch did start to break through the box but thats not a big deal.

by:

I have been buying from you for several years. Once again outstaning fast service at a good price. You are the model others should try to copy in their customer service.

by:

Great hitch and was fairly easy to install. It would have been slightly easier if it came with the coiled wire to hold the top bolts through the frame like in the video.Other than that, excellent delivery time and quality.

by:

Hitch was exceptionally easy to install. Hitch is nicely tucked under the bumper, not taking away from the appearance of the car.

by:

Product was just as described, delivered quickly. Installation went smoothly. We are very pleased with the product. Thanks!

by:

Good product and fairly easy install. Nice product when finished though. The only thing I didn't like is that the receiver is very far under the bumper and I had to get a straight hitch. The curved one was too far under the car. Other than that it's nice now, haven't towed with it yet.

by:

Great product at a good priceAfter searching for the best price on a hitch for my car, etrailer was the best. Very fast shipping and an exact fit as promised. Wish I had known about etrailer.com earlier!

1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Had it installed on a 1999 Olds Intrigue, along with wiring harness. No problems noted but entire installation took about 3 hours by an owner of a reputable body shop.

by:

I ordered a custom hitch and it fit like a glove. The order was placed on Mon. a.m. and was delivered on Wed. afternoon. Fantastic! Very easy to install also. I am very impressed with etrailer.com and this hitch. I highly recommend.

by:
2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Was not made per excact specifications of my particular vehicle. Muffler hangdowns became involved in trying to hoist this hitch into place. It was difficult almost impossible to maneuver past this. No wire leads with kit which is absolutely postitively needed for installation. Not sure why this tool is not included. It costs a $1.00 at the hardware store. Took 2.5 hours to install.

by:
2008 Buick LaCrosse

The Draw-Tite hitch fit perfectly. I installed it myself. As the video mentions, it would be best to have someone help you lifting the hitch during mounting, but it worked out fine, although a little heavy for one person. My biggest concern was fishing the bolts and plates through the frame. It was not a problem, since I purchased the 1/2" bolt feeder for about $1.00. This is a very valuable tool. It took me about 2-1/2 hours to complete the installation. Very happy with the purchase. Great customer service, very responsive and helpful. Absolutley no complaints. 2008 Buick Lacrosse.

2008 Buick LaCrosse

The hitch is quite substantial (heavy) and very well made. Assembly could be a challenge for anyone without good mechanical skills and a place where you can raise the car to work under it. I had a professional install the hitch and the wiring harness to my 2008 Buick Lacrosse, and the installation fee was $100. Four of the mounting holes are pre-drilled in the car body to receive the hitch, but the remaining two holes need to be drilled with a half inch drill. I plan to use the hitch to pull a small utility trailer to haul my wife's tri-cycle and my bike as well as furniture and appliances around the city.

The hitch is working fine, no problems.

It was fairly easy to install and looks great. Now I can take the family on a vacation and slip away on the bike for a relaxing joy ride.

by:

I can't say enough about this company's service. I ordered a hitch, light kit, and the tool to make running the bolts through the frame a snap. Their service is excellent and shipping was fast.

Like a dream. It is effortless to use my trailer. And knowing that when I need parts or technical help I can turn to etrailer.com for assistance eases my mind.

The hitch arrived in 2 days as promised . Fitting was pretty simple .Only question I have is top of hitch was pretty close to the exhaust and may knock against it . All in all however a great experience with Etrailer

Thanks for the update. Just in case the source of the knock has to do with the hitch and exhaust contacting each other, you may find this article helpful.

Arrived quickly and fit fine, perfect solution for my led whip!!!

by:
2003 Buick Century

The product is well built. We installed the hitch on my 2003 Buick Century in about 45 minutes from start to finish without even raising the car up at all. I only wish it came with the spring/ wire to hold the bolts, used a light gauge wire and just wrapped around the threads and it did the exact same thing.

by:

Was very happy with the fast shipping, being that I am a mechanic installation was a breeze. Also very happy with the custom fit, it matches the pictures on your website. Plan to take my bike on a trip this weekend, so now I have a hitch to put my bike rack on.

by:
Buick Century

Great hitch for Buick Century, not hard to install and is out of the view when not used. I used 90 degree drill attachment to make two extra holes without removing the hitch thus installation was much easier.

  • Bumper and Ground Clearance on Hitches for 2008 Buick LaCrosse
When installing a bike rack, bumper clearance is important. Two important measurements are hitch pin hole on receiver to end of bumper and hitch pin hole on the bike rack to the closest point of the rack. For bumper clearance, when we installed this on a 2009 Buick LaCrosse, the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the bumper was 6" with the Draw-Tite # 36374. I attached a picture for your reference. As for ground clearance, the measurement from the top of the receiver to the...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation to Clear My Bumper with the Curt Hitch # C12239 on a 2008 Buick LaCrosse
When considering whether you have enough shank length on a bike rack to clear your rear bumper, the only way to know for sure is by measuring the center of the hitch pinhole to the outside surface of your rear bumper. We unfortunately do not have that measurement available for the Curt # C12239 when installed on your vehicle. However, since we do have that measurement available for the Draw-Tite # 36374 on a 2009 model Buick LaCrosse, you most likely do not have enough clearance length...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2001 Buick Century
For your 2001 Buick Century you would need a Draw Tite Trailer Hitch for the Buick Century, part # 36374. I attached installation instructions and an instructional video for this product below for you to check out. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C12225, that was on your Buick Regal would not work on your Buick Century. If the hitch is still in good shape, you might be able to find someone else with a 1997-2004 Buick Regal or a 1997-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, Coupe and Sedan...

For your 2002 Buick Century, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 36374 is a compatible fit. However, the Curt Hitch # C12225 is not intended for your car and, after consulting with Curt, I have found the Curt hitch you have referenced is also not compatible for your vehicle. The Draw-Tite Receiver # 36374 is custom fit for your Buick Century and features bolt-on installation with no welding required. It is a 1-1/4 inch Class II receiver with a maximum gross trailer weight of 3500 lbs and a...

  • Will Installing a Transmission Cooler On A 2006 Buick LaCrosse Increase Towing Capacity
The addition of a transmission cooler will absolutely help while towing with your 2006 Buick LaCrosse to both increase performance and prolong the life of your vehicle's transmission. That said, it will not increase your towing capacity in the eyes of the manufacturer. However, the factory warranty on your LaCrosse has most likely already expired so I recommend you just use your best judgement when it comes to your towing capacity after adding supplements such as a transmission cooler....

The Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch, item # 36374, for your 2003 Buick Century is designed to be used with the # 36061 ball mount in the rise position only. The manufacturer has done testing to ensure weight capacity and safety are kept within hitch limits. If your trailer would require a significantly higher or lower ball mount then you should probably not pull that trailer with this vehicle. The...

Be sure to consult your owners manual or dealer for exact specifications. A 1/2" Bolt Leader # 80101-1 will make installation of your receiver much easier if you plan to do the installation yourself. • Trailer Hitch and 1-1/4 to 2 Inch Expander for a 2001 Buick Century
All of the trailer hitches for your 2001 Buick Century have 1-1/4 inch receivers including # 36374. But what you can do is use an expander, # HTAD. It fits into the 1-1/4 inch receiver and has a 2 inch receiver on the other end. The only thing about this is by using the expander the tongue weight capacity of the hitch will be reduced by 50 percent. So on hitch # 36374 the regular tongue weight capacity is 300 pounds. By using the expander that capacity is reduced to 150 pounds.
