Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I recently ordered a hitch from etrailer. The service and expediency of the deliver was excellent. I have not experienced this high level of service in many years if ever. Thank You very much.

by:

Hitch fitted fine only gripe I have is the kit had no nuts to fit the studs on the car. So I had to find nuts and use washers that I had to make it fit. Not really a big deal my shop is full of nuts and bolts

by:

Fit good and fairly easy to install. Sorry no pictures.
Packing for shipment could have been better, powder coat had alot of chips and scratches on hitch

I am 69 years old and had this hitch on my 2010 Camaro in about 45 minutes, with no lift. This is my third hitch to purchase from etrailer. I have been satisfied each time. Outstanding Customer Service and Shipping.

Had A friend with a lift and watched the video and the installation was a breeze. WE had it done in 20 mins.
I have a Swagman XTC-2 type rack and my mountain bike fits great.
The pedal is close to the rear bumper but I don't think it will hit.
I just remove my pedals for transport.
You cant even tell you have a hitch on the car unless you look very close. E trailer had my order shipped in a few days.
Great company.

I couldn't be happier with the customer service and the unbelievable fast shipping. I order my hitch on Monday at I installed it Tuesday night. You guys are the best and if I need another hitch I will without a doubt order a hitch from your fine company.

I realize you put the trailer hitch on even though you had the Ground Effects Package. I also have the Ground Effects Package and I was wondering if you had any problems installing the hitch? It looks like the hitch is pushing up on the bottom piece of the ground effects on the back, is this true?

You are correct it is pushing up on the ground effects. It is barely noticeable when you are behind the car. I plan to paint the lower portion of the ground effects black this winter so the trailer hitch disappears.

Thanks for the follow up and the added info!

by:

The videos they presented were right on and the product installed exactly as promised. It also fit perfectly under the skirt. I used 2 Rhino ramps to lift the end for a more comfortable installation experience. I did use some extra washers and the medium bolt in the differential area to specifically tailor the bolt end gap to the diff housing, but hey...I'm just a bit picky that way.

by:

Box arrived damaged; some paint was chipped off so had to spray paint some new on.
Straightforward install, although wedging random amounts of washers feels like poor practice, it gets the job done!
I have been towing a pop-up camper and using a bike carrier. The bike carrier cannot really handle a bike at closest spot but that was to be expected (it is a sportscar first and foremost)

by:
2010 Chevrolet Camaro

I used this to hold some luggage while driving across the country, it worked great. I put a small rack on it, and I had no issues at all, it survived the famous Alaska highway, if you don't know what that is, it is probably one of the longest, roughest drives in north america.
After 1 year, it is still attached to the car, I never removed it, and it still looks almost new. Great buy, so glad I did, it made my trip a whole lot easier, and saved me a lot of money when compared to other options.
Also it's almost un-noticable when nothing is attached, all that shows is the very end, and it's so small, it won't even catch the eye, I barely notice it even washing my car.

Easy installation, took me 30 minutes to install.

by:

Literally today I had this sportframe hitch as well as the draw-tite drawbar rise -10 and hitch ball all attached to my 2014 Camaro . The install was easy and is pretty sturdy ! Long story short it was bad weather snowing and of course the roads are bad . Well I managed to slide off road , luckily a nice gentleman pulled over and offered his help . He said he had a tiny chain ( which is was) he could use to pull me out but it might break but he said he didn’t care. He backed up his truck , got it double looped over our hitches and he pulled me out with ease. The hitch and frame everything’s still in perfect condition after that small ordeal but I’m already sold on this product 10/10 I’m glad I found your site !

Got everything installed over the weekend. Install was straightforward, I had done one previously on my Chrysler 300 before I got my Camaro. Having the wiring kit makes all the difference in the world on these. No shots of it in use yet, haven't got that far, but I did get pics of the car after installation. No problems at all and everything was completed successfully. Appreciate everything that you all did to get it out to me quickly and correctly.

2015 Chevrolet Camaro

This went onto a 2015 Camaro LT RS with ease! Of note, I do not have mufflers so it made it easier to fit the curved parts up behind the bumper. In general, though, it bolted on very easily. I had enough space after just putting the car on jack stands to roll under the car with the hitch and attach it. The instructions are enough to make installation simple, and I put it on in about 45-60 minutes. I have used it for a bike rack for a couple of months now and no issues! Great Value

by:
2014 Chevrolet Camaro

The hitch went on as advertised, the video was very helpful. Though it took a bit longer, it was installed with the car on the ground. The hardware kit arrived intact, but with no 3/8 nut for the main frame bolt. I called customer support at etrailer, who contacted Drawtite and another hardware kit was shipped to me. Very good customer service from etrailer and drawtite.

Chevrolet Camaro

I've been very pleased with this item since I received it a year ago. The installation was not especially difficult, as it is essentially a bolt-on. I've had no issue occasionally pulling a 5'x8' utility trailer with it.

I recommend this for any generation 5 Camaro owner wanting to add a hitch to their vehicle.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Camaro

I was I bit sceptical about putting a class 1 hitch on my 2011 Camaro for a bike rack but the reviews and the videos of how to install got me excited that I could actually do it!

Etrailer ROCKS! if you have any car/truck related needs, etariler should be your first stop!

As far as I can see, this company wants to provide quality equipment and parts but then make sure you get it installed properly.

I've been extremely pleased with the etrailer's customer service, instructions and products. This hitch has made traveling with my bike in a camaro much more convenient and efficient.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Camaro

I accidentally ordered the wrong size hitch and Lori was a tremendous help with shipping out the right size hitch the same day. She sent me a label for the return and received it today. I spent 1 hour installing the hitch on my 2011 Camaro and since I didn’t have access to a lift, it took me 1/2 longer than it should have. The hitch was a perfect fit, the customer service couldn’t have better and this was a great experience with etrailer, although not my first, and not my last. Thank you.

  • 2015 Camaro SS Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation
For your 2015 Chevy Camaro SS we have hitches like the part # 24850 which are confirmed as fits, but none of them have 2 inch openings. 2 inch hitches are only used on larger vehicles that would have higher capacities like trucks and SUVs. You would need to go with a bike rack that is compatible with Class I hitches. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from...

To install the Draw-Tite part # 24850 that you referenced you would not need to remove the bumper or supply longer bolts than what are included with the install hardware on a 2011 Chevy Camaro like yours that's not a convertible or has ground effects. The ground clearance for the Curt and the Hidden Hitch/Draw Tite hitches are going to be about the same. Both styles of hitch install right below the bumper so they will both have about 10 inches of ground clearance. Hitch accessories will need to have 12 inches from the hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the rack to be able to clear the bumper though. The Thule T2 part # TH23JV would be your best option. This rack is very similar to the Kuat and will have enough clearance unlike...

I spoke with my contacts at Draw-Tite, Hidden hitch, and Curt. The Draw Tite hitch part # 24850 that you referenced would work well for you. For trailer wiring you would want the part # HM11141285.
