Fits my 2004 Nissan pathfinder although evap canister does need to be temporarily removed but not a big deal.

Nissan Pathfinder

Works like it should. Most of the hitch frame tucks behind the bumper nicely. The receiver sticks out further than I’d like, purely aesthetics. Solid hitch. One bolt hole didn’t line up perfectly. Not a problem for me with a drill and a big bit. Like the hitch. Finish is good. Build is more than enough for the towing capabilities of the little Pathfinder. Transaction and shipping was easy and quick.

Hitch frame came bent, ended up having to hit it with a hammer for it to slide in. Said it fit my car but I had to drill holes in order for it to fit. Overall, disappointing. Never would have bought it if I knew it would be this much trouble. Wth

1997 Infiniti QX4

My order was shipped immediately and arrived quickly. I took the hitch to my local mechanic to install. It didn't exactly bolt on as advertised, but I was expecting this because another review reported issues on a 1997 QX4 install. The mechanic had to, "do a little work with the angle grinder." He and I agree it's a well made, solid hitch.

Let me start out by differentiating the retailer/seller (etrailer) and the manufacturer of the product (Curt). My dealings with etrailer has been fantastic. They did everything that I would have expected. They shipped the order, sent me updated information along the process. They are the ones reaching out for my response.

The problem that I had was with the manufactured product. It was a "Curt" hitch receiver for a 1999 QX4. I'm not necessarily upset with the Curt Receiver (per-say), but more so about the design. It did not fit my vehicle without modifications to the vehicle. I was able to install it and happy with the final result. However, the average person does not have the knowledge nor ability to make those modifications in this circumstance.
Just so that we are clear, I am not a licensed engineer suggesting nor advising anyone else to make the modifications shown in this video. Nobody advised me to make these modifications.

Nissan Pathfinder

I am very pleased at the speed and accuracy of the order that I placed. The Hitch for our Nissan Pathfinder fits very well and was easy to install. I also reviewed the video that was on-line and it explained the process of installation which was a great help to me. As far as receiving the order it arrived much sooner than I had expected and in good condition. I have since order another item for the hitch and it was shipped immediately. Great Job! 1999 Nissan Pathfinder

Received the product on time. Installed it the next day without a "hitch" and now it's sitting as if it has always been part of the SUV. I installed it alone, but if you can have someone help you it would lessen the installation time. I'll be adding the electrical connections next, as soon as I buy it, but for now I'll be using it to carry my bicycles. It's a very sturdy product and the people at etrailer were very responsive in getting the product to me within the delivery time-frame.

Difference Between Curt 13088 Square and Curt 13156 Round Tube Trailer Hitches
The two hitches you mentioned are very similar in size and installation. When comparing round and square hitches, round tube hitches are usually sleeker compared to square hitches. Any hitch for your Pathfinder will stick out past the bumper. I looked at our other hitch options like Draw-tite, and they stick out too. You should not have any problems. Make sure to stay within towing capacity limits of your vehicle and hitch which I do not see being an issue. I imagine you already have a hitch and trailer wiring for towing for your 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. If not, I recommend the Curt Class III Round Tube Hitch, Item # C13156, and the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, Item # 118361, which are confirmed fits for your Nissan. Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder For Towing a Small Boat
I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13156 on your 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. This receiver has a 2" opening for ball mounts or other hitch mounted accessories. The Towing Kit # C45534 includes a ball mount with a 2" drop and a 2" ball. If you need more drop or rise please let me know so I can help you find the correct ball mount. You will also need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118361 to connect to the lights on your trailer. This will give you a 4-way flat connector.
