Biker Bar in use

With B&W's Biker Bar, it's never been easier to secure your motorcycle for travel. Just bolt the latching plate to the floor of your trailer, and clamp the included bar to your bike's frame. Once both components are appropriately mounted, simply drive your motorcycle onto your trailer, over the latching base plate, and the bar will automatically latch into the base. No straps or wheel chocks are needed.

Not only does this motorcycle tie-down system make it fast and easy to connect your bike to your trailer, but it also makes it safer and more secure. Because there are no tie-down straps, there are no buckles or hooks to rub against your bike, potentially scratching your paint or trim. And because the bar attaches to your motorcycle's frame, this system provides more stability than tie-downs alone. In fact, the Biker Bar system is designed not only to secure your bike, but also to create a natural ride for it during trailering. Once hooked up to the latching plate in your trailer, your motorcycle's suspension is effectively linked with the suspension system of the trailer, eliminating undo stress on your bike.

Installation

Installation of the Biker Bar is simple. The bar itself clamps to your bike's tubed frame, just behind the transmission. Be sure to clear any potential obstacles, such as hydraulic lines or wiring harnesses, that could get caught between the clamps and the frame. The clamps on the bar are lined with neoprene to prevent scratches to your bike's frame.

Once you have the bar securely clamped to the frame of your bike, ride the bike onto the trailer to determine the location where you want the bike to attach. Mark that spot on the floor of your trailer so that you can bolt down the latching plate. You will have to drill into your trailer's floor to attach the plate.

The final setup step is to adjust the height of the latching base. Once the base is bolted to the trailer's floor, ride the bike over it until the bar is directly in front of the base. Measure the distance from the middle of the bar to the trailer's floor. Your bike's suspension must be slightly compressed while latched down to appropriately stabilize the bike during transport. So you must remain sitting on the motorcycle while taking this measurement. Once you have this measurement, remove the bar from the bike and place it in the latching base. Adjust the height of the base until the bar is the same distance from the floor as it was when on the motorcycle. The base adjusts in 1/4" increments, so the height may not be exact. As long as the bar is within 1/4" of your initial measurement, setup is complete.

I have always used a front wheel chalk and straps when hauling my bike. I had straps break twice allowing the bike to fall against the side of the trailer. so my friend told me about the biker bar. I have a 2000 Harley Electra glide standard. I went to Sturgis and Yellowstone this summer 8/2025 and we had a trike, my bike and a 2022 CVO street glide in the trailer. Mine and the CVO were secured with the biker bar, the bar worked great. Installing the bar on the bike frame and riding the bike into the lock was simple and quick. It took a couple times to get the lock and unlock of the clamps to work easy but it was worth it. The bikes stood up straight and rode stable. But we did strap the front wheels to prevent them from turning. We were concerned that if the wheels turned the bar could slide out of the lock.

That is great to hear, and the setup looks awesome! I just hit Yellowstone for the first time this past year it was beautiful.

by:
These biker bars work amazing!!! Only negative is you can't put the bar on with the kick stand down, that is a HUGE pain. Once they are on and locked in the bike doesn't move at all.
by:
Package arrived undamaged and on-time.
Haven’t used it yet. Installation instruction lacks encouragement to reinforce some RV floor structures due to sub-floor material thickness and floor joist configuration and tinsel strength. Chose not to cut the under trailer moisture barrier; cut sub-floor; reenforced floor structure, installed between joists, 2x6 material; pretty sturdy now.

I purchased two of these in the past and I have tied a lot of motorcycles down, but this beats all. Just drive it in and it’s locked down no more straps so I purchased another one.

The B& W Biker Bar works great. I install it on my alumium car hauler which was most likely more tricky that a trailer with a wooden floor. After install drove the Road Glide up, on & at the Biker Bar. I needed to make an adjustment to a high position. After that I drove the bike right into the claws, it clicked into the rock position & I was go to go. I tried hard to move the bike & handle bars but could get bike to move so I felt confident it would be good for transport from San Diego up north on a 7 hours drive. Now hear is the best testament for the Biker Bar…I drove through LA on the 5! Anyone how’s driven LA’s 5 knows it like rock crawling at 60 mph. After driving both ways through hell pit of the US it the Biker Bar held the big bike rock solid. It makes loading & hauling so much easier & confidently that I would recommend this to anyone that would like/needs to transport a motorcycle.

@John Thanks for always checking in and letting us know how things are going with the Biker Bar! How often are your traveling with your bike?

Quality is second to none! Shipping was exactly as advertised. Had mine in 2 days!! Great overview experience and product!

I bought three of these to use on a open car hauler type trailer I had made to trailer my three Harleys, two Wide Glides & a Road Glide Ultra. The trailer is 20' long which includes a 30" dovetail. It has two 3500 lb axels and is 82" wide inside fender to fender. The Biker Bar performs as advertised. No need for tie down straps. I trailered these bikes 900 miles from Missouri to Colorado and back, along I-70. I-70 in spots, especially going through Denver can be pretty rough. Lots of dips and bumps across all the overpasses. The Biker Bar held the bikes great with no problems. I used some cheap wheel chocks from Harbor Freight on the front wheels to keep the front wheel from flopping, but found out they were not really necessary when the Biker Bar is adjusted properly. Will not use them on the next trip. The Biker Bar is easy to install, just read the instructions and watch the video etrailer provides. B&W you could make the install a one man job if you provided a 3/16" dia hole in the plates that mount under the trailer. This would allow you to use a temporary screw to hold the plate in place while you drill the holes for two permanent bolts. I used a drywall screw and a fender washer to hold the plate in place. Also the two 5/8" dia bolts that hold the Main plate, are not long enough to go through a 1-1/2" board. I had to buy new bolts an inch longer. Other than that, I really am pleased with the "Biker Bar".

Love them!

I love the B&W Biker Bar. We have pulled my HD Ultra Limited in an enclosed trailer behind our RV over 28 states so far. It loads and unloads in minutes, and has never moved at all, even through several full-brake lockdowns and all of the potholes that the northeast US could throw at us! It is a well-designed product. My only question now is what do I do with all of those old straps I used to have to use [Thumbs Up]

Another year into our cross country tour in the RV and I am still loving my Biker Bar. This is one of the best designed, high quality products I have ever used. Perfect!

by:
Best invention since the light bulb. Installed in 20 mins and loaded the bike in 2 mins. I have seen this product at a bike rally and had to have one. No more straps.... I have experienced $5,500 in damage when my buddies bike fell over onto mine in my trailer that was secured by straps, if I owned a biker bar then I never would have needed to file a claim on my insurance.

Finally can write review after 600ml trip. Rock solid! Bike becomes part of trailer. Front wheel dosen't even budge.Had to have underside plates replaced because supplied one's too small for my trailer,(wielding shop fixed that). Pat at etrailer was great! Would and have recommended.

We just got 2 bars installed in the toy hauler and did a test run. Everything appears to be on the up and up and are happy with the product, how it mounts/locks into place, and appears to be a game changer to all the straps and tie downs from the past

Still great!! We’re on the road again, using the Biker Bars and having no issues! Fabulous product!

by:
This is literally the easiest tie-down system ever. 10 out of 10. My only warning is there may be clearance issues for highly modified bikes. I had to adjust some lighting, wires, and an exhaust clamp to make it work. Still love this product. Hauled the bike from Dallas to Phoenix and it didn't move a millimeter.

Awesome investment
by:
Hauled a Street Glide and Ultra Classic from Michigan to Cody, WY last year. These biker bars were absolutely incredible! The photo shows the bikes in the trailer ready to unload. Due to the floor joists and axles in the trailer, we were limited as to staggering the bikes out further. It was tight, but with the biker bars, there was zero movement! On the way out, I checked the bikes every time we stopped. After 500-600 miles, I didn’t bother. They were solid! Would have taken so much more time loading, unloading and messing with all the tie down straps. If you need to trailer your bikes, this product will save you time and eliminate the worry about what’s going on back there! Highly recommend.
by:
I recently installed the biker bar in my 24 foot enclosed trailer. It was a very easy installation that took about 45 minutes. After the installation I locked in my 2016 ultra limited low Harley davidson. It was a perfect fit. I was and still am amazed how great this system holds my bike down and totally locks it to my trailer. The next day I had to do a test just to make sure my bike would be okay on long trips. So I drove my trailer around doing normal and slightly aggressive braking and quick turns. After about an hour or so I pulled over into a parking lot. I opened the side door to my trailer and there my Harley davidson was still upright and looking good. By the way you do not need any other tie down with this system. This is the best system ever!
by:
QUICK turnaround! Ordered Sunday and received Wednesday!!
Opened box, it’s exactly what I ordered. All parts are there that were supposed to be. Two thumbs up and five starts!
by:
I have hauled my 800 pound Harley for over 2000 miles using this Biker Bar with no ty-down straps. It is an excellent clean option for my trailer. It is just a little tricky learning how to disconnect my bike, but just a little grease and some practice, and I have it mastered.
by:
The BikerBar is a great product! No more straps working loose while trailing Harleys…wonderful peace of mind. Just a few words of advice to anyone considering ditching the straps, keep your BikerBar clasp mechanisms clean and lubricated and you wont have any issue. Also, make dang sure you are mounting to a frame under your trailer. Simply attaching the mounting plate to a plywood floor will eventually cause the screws holding the floor down, to work loose. The suspension of the motorcycle has enough rebound pressure to slowly pull the floor screws out of the frame. It may take a year or two, but it will happen. For example, If the front tire is sitting on separate piece of flooring from the mounting plate, it will put some good suspension pressure on the piece the mounting plate is attached to, especially if you have air suspension and you add air to make the mount tight. Just some advice. Bottom line. Invest the money to buy the bars, you will not be disappointed! DITCH YOUR STRAPS!

Yearly update: Hey guys!! The Biker Bars are the next best thing to shirt pockets. I have five biker bar systems in my trailer and I’m the envy of everyone who still trailers motorcycles. I’ve had the bars for several years and they still work great. As I said before, keep them clean and keep them lubricated.. The only issue may have is the rubber bumpers between the bar and the frame will get loose and possibly fall off after time. But hey, there’s a simple fix. You can call the company and they’ll take care of that for you. The bottom line is you take care of those bars and they’ll take care of you. Did I mention I can load five Harleys in about 15 minutes??!

by:
Bought the Biker Bar to anchor my Road Glide in my trailer for the trip from NW PA to Daytona Beach. At first I was skeptic. No looking back now. Only way I'll anchor my bike now. Thank you B&W for a great product!
by:
Installed easily on my new enclosed trailer, you will need to make a trip to Home Depot to find some bolts, washers, etc.

I have not taken it out on a road-trip yet. I am planning on buying a bluetooth camera to install inside the trailer to watch the bike during trips.

by:
It works perfect. Very easy install wouldn’t use any other tie down system for my bike.
by:
The biker bar was delivered quick! Installation was pretty easy just using the directions, but there are multiple videos if you get stuck. The only problem I had was not with the biker bar system, but with the Harley. I have a bracket for my crossover pipes that interfered with the bar clamp position. It caused the bar to be either too far forward interfering with the kick stand, or too far aft of center. I wound up cutting a 3 inch section out of the bracket to give me access to the frame. From there it was gravy. I've got a 3600 mile trip coming up. If the bike stays solid like it is right now, I expect no issues. If there are problems, I'll let you all know.
by:
It's a nice way of holding the bike in the trailer, and it does do a great job of that. I will be making an update for sure though. I'll be adding a much larger plate to the bottom side of my trailer to help distribute the back and forth motion some. Also, unless I'm doing it wrong, the kickstand on my bike interferes greatly and it takes some effort to get it to work out correctly. I have an '05 Screaming Eagle Electra Glide, not sure if that's because of an age thing? Overall, I'm happy and would definitely buy one again and I have recommended etrailer and this product specifically.
I used it for my trip out to Colorado and back, roughly a total of 1800 miles and had no issues whatsoever.

Hey Dennis, thanks for reaching out, and good question. I completely understand the concern, especially after having your bikes survive an actual head-on collision with traditional chocks and straps. The B&W Biker Bar # BWMC2301 is a seriously stout setup.
