This compact brake controller fits nicely in your cab. It's designed to mount flush to the dash and is only 1" thick. The controls are simple, the LED display is large and bright, and the manual override is easy to reach in a pinch.

Specs:
Gain is the maximum amount of power that will be applied to your trailer's brakes. How much braking output you need is determined by the weight of your trailer; a heavier trailer will need more power to bring it to a stop. You want to go as high as you can without the trailer brakes locking up. Use the gray rocker switch to adjust the gain on a scale of 0.5 to 9.9 in increments of 0.5.
Once you have the gain set, you can fine-tune your braking by adjusting the load control on a scale of 1 to 9 using the black rocker switch. This controls the aggressiveness of your trailer's braking, meaning how quickly the brakes reach the maximum braking level. If your vehicle takes too long to come to a stop, increase the setting. If it stops too abruptly, decrease the setting.
The LED display on the TriFlex is large and easy to read at a glance. You can adjust the brightness or trigger night mode so it won't glare obnoxiously on your dash. It also will give you error messages you can use to troubleshoot.
The TriFlex offers key safety features to prevent damage to various components of your towing setup. This starts with built-in protection against shorts and positive and negative power reversal, as well as continous diagnostic checks to alert you to any potential problems as they come up. To minimize the drain on your vehicle's battery, the TriFlex will automatically go into sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity. Sleep mode will turn off again the moment you press the brake pedal.
Automatic leveling means your mounting options are limitless, so long as you can still easily access the controller and the manual override. The included bracket is designed to mount the brake controller flush to the dash so it takes up almost no space at all.
If your vehicle already has a plug-in brake controller wiring harness, just connect the unit to it. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a vehicle-specific wiring harness (sold separately) to plug into. If a harness is unavailable for your vehicle, hardwiring will be necessary.
Note: If a custom brake control wiring adapter is not available for your vehicle, one of the following will be required:
If you don't already have a 7-way plug at the back of your vehicle, take a look at our exclusive 7- and 4-way brake control installation kit (ETBC7 - sold separately).
Proportional braking means that your trailer brakes mimic your tow vehicle's brakes. If you slam on the brakes in your vehicle, your trailer brakes will activate with the same intensity; if you brake lightly, your trailer brakes lightly too. The trailer's braking is in proportion to your vehicle's braking. This saves wear and tear on the tires and the brakes on both your vehicle and trailer.
The TriFlex uses an internal 3-axis accelerometer to sense how your vehicle is braking so it can send the right amount of braking power to your trailer. It measures the inertia of your tow vehicle and activates the trailer's brakes to slow at the same rate. The result is uniform braking across your towing setup. No push-pull action - just smooth, proportional braking every time.

Hello neighbors, I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look together at this CURT TriFlex Next Trailer Brake Controllers for one to four axles, proportional, and as a quantity of six. So again, folks, quantity of six here today, so if you're watching this, most likely you're either a dealership, or a shop, or something of that nature. That being said, folks, the brake controller, as you probably already know, activates your trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's brake in action. So let's say that you're, you know, braking, it's going to automatically adjust the trailer brake based on your deceleration while you're driving that tow vehicle. Now it does have a very simple display monitor.
I'm not going to be able to light it up for you today unfortunately without having a vehicle to plug it into, but that would show you the braking and sensitivity settings, as well as any error codes that you may or may not run into. It's got very nice intuitive controls that keep settings within your reach very easily. It also has 10 levels of boost to let you adjust initial braking power and aggressiveness for a smooth, safe braking. Now it does use what's called a pinch style (device clicking) trigger manual override, and that just simply allows you to control the trailer sway or stop in case of emergencies. Now, again, you're most likely a shop if you're watching this, so you probably already know how this operates, but I want to go over it all anyways, just in case someone else is watching, or in case you need a refresher on this specific model.
Now keep in mind, this triple axis motion sensing accelerometer that's inside of here is going to provide high responsive smooth stops and it's automatically going to increase the power when you're going downhill and decrease it when you're going uphill. This is a very nice integrated safeguard, it's going to protect your vehicle, the trailer, and the controller as well. It's got a nice built-in power cord there, connector. Keep in mind, more likely than not, you're probably going to have to use a vehicle specific control adapter that's sold separately here at etrailer. If you don't have those, you can reach out to us on the website or call us.
We can get you hooked up with the right ones as well. Now these are compatible with electric, over electric over hydraulic trailers. And the dimensions on this guy are four inches long, 3 1/8 wide, and about one inch thick or one inch tall. They all have a nice limited lifetime warranty. You're going to get all the mounting hardware, zip ties, screws, adhesive, little placards that help you in case you need to know what the error codes are or what the little functions are.
You're going to get six of each and also six sets of instructions. So like I said, it comes with the mounting hardware, it also comes with the mounting bracket. You simply pull this and that's how it latches in there. And it does again, come with the screws to mount that to the dash or wherever you're mounting it. And then obviously, it just simply clicks into place whenever you are installing it. So again, this trigger guy's here, pull those to undo it, pop it in, clicks into place whenever you're using it. Now these also run continuous diagnostic checks to alert you with any potential problems, and they also minimize drain on your car battery or truck battery by entering into a sleep mode after about five minutes of, you know, not using it. Now, these also help keep your trailer brakes from overheating by reducing power output to them during prolonged stops. So let's say you're at a stoplight for a while, it's going to automatically kill the power to them or just give it just enough in those kinds of situations. It also prevents positive and negative power reversal with its built-in polarity protection. And again, that nice LED display screen shows your power adjustments in 0.5 increments. Now this is compatible with ABS brakes, cruise control, low voltage wiring, multiplex wiring, and PWM systems as well. And like I mentioned, you can mount them at any angle whatsoever, they're going to work just fine for you. Now one other thing to note, if you cannot get or use a custom wire and plugin to install this and you have to just use the four wires, you may need a 20 amp circuit breaker for anything from one to two axles and then anything over two axles, you're probably going to need a 30 amp circuit breaker to install these. Well folks, that's going to do it for our look at this quantity of six, the CURT TriFlex Next Trailer Brake Controllers. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com, thank you so much for your time, friends. Thanks for watching, have a great day.
