I do not normally do reviews. I am extremely happy with these mirrors. Easy to install and adjust. Very secure. Large mirror can be vertical or horizontal. Best part is they are stable at highway speeds, unlike other universal fit mirrors I have returned. Vehicle is 2018 Ford Transit van. Telescoping mirrors are not available. This is the best option I have found to safely tow a trailer. Great price and fast shipping from etrailer. Highly recommended.

About 5k miles towing and still working great

Excellent product. Easy to put on. Took them off, put them in my camper storage. Next trip out, when I put them on, I did not even need to adjust them! The mirrors are slight contour and slight magnification, which makes them easy to see. There is virtually NO vibration during travel. (I have had others that shimmied so bad you could not see a thing.) I flip my driver side mirror in frequently to check my mail box, so it is not very stiff. So I ran a small bungee from the clamp to the grill under my hood. Did this for both sides. My driver side flipped in when traveling at interstate speeds, so I put a second bungee on it. Fixed the problem. Allen bolts at top of clamp are rusting after 2nd use. All in all though, I am very pleased with this product and it is well worth the money spent. It is the only product I could find to properly fit my 2011 Toyota Tacoma, because it clamps on the mirror frame and does not rest on my truck mirrors. Great Product!

Used these for a year, and camping about 10 times during that year, all over the state and they still work and look great! I highly recommend this product!

This mirror has worked very well. This was my first time pulling a trailer, so I wasn't sure what to get. Due to a camera on the passenger side mirror of our 2016 Honda Pilot, the type that strap on would not work for us. Some of the reviews mentioned excessive vibration and a couple even said the mirrors fell off or the clamps broke at high speed. But others had high praise. In the end I decided to take a chance. And just in case one might break on the road, I bought an extra clamp. And I'm very careful to clamp it on securely, but not over-tighten it. The result: Over 8000 miles with no problems. Minimal vibration and no shifting, falling off or breaking. I'm very happy and I recommend this mirror.

I purchased this product in advance of renting a large toy hauler to take my family camping back in October. The package said it fits most vehicles including my Ford F-150. I followed the instructions and positioned the mirror with the brackets on top like the directions stated. However any vibration would have caused it to fall off as it did with little effort of my pulling on it. The good news is that if you mount this with the brackets on the bottom of your mirror it goes no where. I did not have to readjust, or retighten these mirrors once during our trip. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to purchase this product.

I went for this because there are no more aerodynamic form-fitting mirrors available for my truck this seemed to be the more simple, less kludgy solution. It's quick and easy to install, and can be extended for some distance. I have had a few knocked off by the shock waves of large trucks going the opposite direction on two-lane highways where the approaching speeds were 120 mph or higher. The solution was to salvage the surviving parts and add a third clamp and to not extend the driver-side mirror far beyond the existing mirror.

I was looking to replace the old style strap-on towing mirrors I had been using, and thought these looked interesting. Ordered them and they arrived quickly and installed easily. I read some of the negative reviews. and attributed most to "operator error", and forged ahead. They attach easily and securely to my 2011 Ford Ranger's original mirrors, and I have really enjoyed having them. Give me a much better view of the road behind me and my trailer, and have survived several trips on secondary highways with speed up to 60mph. Only problem so far has been the occasional and rare semi I encounter on these roads which have, a couple of times created a wake turbulence strong enough to fold back the driver's side mirror. I just verbally abuse the trucker, roll down the window, and push the mirrors back to the locked position. The extension hangs on all the way and pops back out with the original mirror. No problem. Attach them correctly, firmly, and check often, and they perform as promised. Good product - Great service! Thanks, etrailer!

I just used the CIPA Towing Mirror for the first time this week and it worked as advertised. The mirror is well engineered to provide multiple adjustment points to allow for great views of traffic. Great for when backing into spaces. I particularly liked the video demonstrating how to attach the mirrors on my specific make and model of truck. Easy to order and delivery was quick. Highly recommend this product

We've used or mirrors on numerous trips over the last year. They work great as long as you continually check to make sure they are tight. They seem to loosen up after a few hours on the road.

Comments
After a year I no longer have either of the 2 mirrors I purchased. Overtime they both fell off as we were traveling down the road. Previous to that Id replaced 2 of the clamps that hold the mirrors. Plastic for these pieces isnt adequate. Something stronger should be used.

Easy to install. I bought a pontoon boat and trailer which requires a mirror extension. My range of view is greatly improved. The clamps attach very nice to the mirrors which is much better that a rubber strap configuration. Fully adjustable bracketry with a solid mount and very little vibration. Highly recommended.

I originally purchase the CIPA Universal Fit Clip on Mirrors for my Toyota Highlander. Do not waste your money. They constantly moved while driving and did not keep the trailer in view. The CIPA clamp on mirrors stay in place and provide great viewing angles with NO Vibrations! Easy to install, and can be adjusted many ways. I must also say that etrailer provided excellent customer service and price matched to [other on-line retailer]. Very pleased!

These mirrors were the worst. I have bought 4 of them. You have to make sure you tighten them extra tight. They kept getting ripped off by the wind. If you tighten them too much, the bracket cracks and then they don't hold at all. The only good think is they reached out far enough. I can't find a replacement that is that far out.

I tow a 25' travel trailer behind my F150 4x4. These mirrors are convenient to remove and store in the camper, without changing the adjustments.. great for reinstallation. They stay put once installed and don't impede the use of the standard mirrors.

Been driving with these mirrors on a 2016 Toyota Tacoma. They are pretty good and for the most part hold their position without slipping. The hex key bolts do rust, so not sure why a little more care didn't go into making those stainless steel. They hold the grip so the rust is only cosmetic. Also, I apologise a quarter inch drop of clear silicone near the primary spot to tighten it because it does eventually loosen on long hauls after being passed by numerous semi trucks on two lane roads. They carry a lot of force wind when passing. Finally, I hope it doesn't happen but I feel like the hex bolts "might" begin to strip the threads after tightening. I hope that doesn't happen. Overall well worth the money.

Used the mirrors last week on our Lexus GX460. I tightened them down very tight based on past reviews and didn’t have any problem. They were very stable, didn’t slip and gave fantastic adjustment and visibility. They are very well built and have rubber coated pads on the clamps so they don’t damage the paint on the vehicle mirrors. Once they are set they go back onto the vehicle with ease. Great product!! etrailer contact was great! They let me know when the order was shipped, gave me the tracking info and followed up. Best on line buying experience I have ever had. I am a customer for life. Same experience with the back up camera we just received. etrailer is 2 for 2!!!

Comments
The mirrors work great! No issues at all. We tow with a Lexus GX460 and we had some concerns of damage to our vehicle side mirrors. We are happy to report that the trailer mirrors work perfect and we have never had any damage and we have never lost a mirror.

Great product and it appears that it would work well with most vehicle factory mirrors. Unfortunately, it was not compatible with MB Sprinter 3500 series Class-C RV. The plastic frames around my factory mirrors was too thick for the clamps on this product to accommodate.

I bought a 3rd tow mirror to replace one that fell off during our travels. That particular mirror kept sagging from the fixed position, so needed a lot of retightening. After one adjustment, I suddenly noticed it was missing! Simply slid off. (The driver's side mirror had NO problem with sagging, and didn't come off. (After the loss, I did keep checking the tightness every time I was out of the vehicle!) Aside from the loss, I am VERY happy with the mirrors. They function exactly as I had hoped. I found that the passenger-side mirror is not really missed on the Toyota Tundra.

Comments
My experience with the CIPA mirrors has been spotty. The products are great, work really well, to a point. First, I lost one on the road, by not tightening it enough. I found that with my rig, a 26 pull-behind, the right -side mirror does little good. So most of my April 2017 trip was made with only the left side. I reordered a new mirror, and when installing them for my April 2018 trip, I OVER TIGHTENED the right side one, and broke one of the mounting clips. So again, I travelled with only the left side mirror. And again I ordered a new one. I am disappointed that CIPA does not make available the mounting clips for this unit. I now have a complete mirror unit except for one missing clip! I noticed that CIPA offers replacement parts for other units.

These mirrors are awesome! We bought these for our 2015 Toyota Tundra that we use to pull our 16ft Airstream trailer. We have been traveling for years and didn’t know what we were missing! We bought one for each side, and they were very easy to attach and are so versatile! They are very steady in the wind as well. I would recommend checking the clamps as you go, they loosened up a little. I highly recommend these mirrors!

Comments
Not well...they seemed good at first, but while traveling on a 2 lane road with oncoming semi trucks they blew off and broke. We were disappointed because we liked the better vision. We have gone with another brand that has stronger clamps and have attached a safety strap just in case.

2nd one to fall off our car. It was tight and at 30mph blew off on ramp to highway. Worthless garbage!

- CM11980
by:

after all kinds of checking tightness I still managed to lose one mirror on the intestate. But in evaluating my mounting I am not necessarily blaming the product. I did however realize there is another method of attaching the mirror to my jeep. SO see attached image. SO far works great and I think it looks better than clamping to the top of my OEM mirrors.

Very adjustable, fit on my 2001 Ford F-150 Supercrew. Now can see side of camper and cars behind. Stayed on for a month including trip. After 3weeks they rattled off. They need a little pad screwed onto the mirror surround. Maybe double sided tape. Great product bounced down the street at 55 mph. I recovered both mirror with not even a scratch on them

Comments
I put these on again, used these for a few months going from Florida to RI and got so used to them I never took them off, even when not towing. One day one fell off in the street at 50mph. Got two scratches on it and I put it back on. I suggest a sticky pad where it clamps on your plastic mirror housing. I would recommend this product for the F150 2001 supercrew without hesitating. Great product!
