Hello, neighbors. Today, we're looking at this ARB Premium Recovery Winch Rigging Kit with the included Storage Bag. Now, folks, this storage bag does fit all these straps, snatch block, gloves, and the shackles themselves inside the bag for a nice, nice, easy-to-find, one-stop location. Now, this bag is very, very nice. I like the fact that it's got reflective orange all the way around it, along with that silver reflecting strap or strip on the top and sides. It's got very, very nice plastic holds, while the zippers have a very nice big finger hold and also, has a nice plastic part up there where your finger goes.
So it's always gonna keep that same shape, but also make opening and closing that super, super simple. Now, you can't really see kind of too deep inside of there since it's all black and color, but as I threw that image up earlier, you can be rest assured it's gonna hold everything just fine. It also has a nice strap as well for shoulder carrying. And one thing I like about this, I want, I do wanna point out it is kind of foam padded, not too much, but most straps like this you see out there, it's just this protector to kinda give you extra space in your shoulder. But this one's actually got some foam, so that was a neat surprise.
And then it's got a nice, bright orange handle at the top. Again, just makes holding the whole thing, even whenever it's full, really, really simple and easy. Now, get into the kit itself folks. First thing, you're gonna get this nice snatch block. And as you probably know, the snatch block increases your winch pulling power and also, lets you change the direction of the pull.
So let's say you can't get a straight shot, you have to go around something, or maybe, you're down lower than your attachment point or vice versa, you know, this will give you different directions as far as pulling options. It does use and fit a half-inch diameter rope. That's the max it'll fit. Its brake strength is 38,500 pounds, while its working load limit is 19,800 pounds. The pulley diameter inside is 4-5/16 of an inch in diameter, and it's a palmer wheel, so it's gonna be less abrasive on your synthetic ropes than your steel ropes that are out there.
And this guy only weighs about five pounds. (clanging) You're gonna get two shackles. Now, these shackles create a safe attachment point for your hook, snatch block, or the loop ends of your strap. They are threaded screw pins. That pin thickness is 3/4 of an inch thick. The shackle itself is about 2 inches wide up here and about 5 inches overall in length. Now, this guy has a safe working load limit of 9,500 pounds per shackle. (clanging) Now, get into the straps folks. I do like the fact that there's nice bright colors. It makes it a lot easier to find in the snow, mud, leaves, nighttime even, that kind of stuff. This guy is your tree saver strap. It's gonna provide a nice, strong anchor point for your recoveries while also protecting the tree from rope damage that you get on traditional ropes and cables that you just wrap around the tree by themself. So we wanna make sure we're protecting the trees and stuff. It's not their fault we got stuck, right And the breaking strength of this guy is 26,000 pounds. It's 10-foot long overall, and it is 3-1/8 inches wide. Next up, you're gonna get the orange elastic recovery strap. Now, this guy will prov, this guy will create rather an attachment point for your double line rigging. It will extend the length of your wire or rope, and the elastic can stretch 20% longer, and it's gonna help prevent shock or jarring caused by those common, you know, static toe straps or chains, that kind of stuff when you're pulling, that elasticity will help soften all that. Now, it has a maximum load brake strength of 17,600 pounds. This guy's 30 feet long by 2/8 inches wide. And finally, that's right, our big bad boy here, purple. So this guy is 66 feet long by 2/8 inches wide. Its maximum load strength brake is 9,900 pounds, and it's gonna give you a lot of extra length from your vehicle cable whenever the best anchor point is outta reach. So this guy will help get you farther, farther away to a tie down point or anchor point to help pull you out. So again, nice straps here, vibrant colors, easy to find. You get a nice pair of leather gloves. Those help protect your hands from the cable, calluses, rope burns, and possibly any kind of frame on the cable if you have a wire cable on your winch. Now, the last thing I wanna mention here folks is called the damper. So if you've never used one of these, let me zoom back out here, so you can see it unfold it. It's got hook and loop (tearing) as you can hear that hold it together. So one, it's got all the instructions on how to use it here inside the thing itself. But basically, if you've never used one of these dampers, you lay your rope out and everything, and this gets sealed back up rather. And then this guy here is basically a safety feature. It's gonna absorb energy and reduce recoil in the unlikely event that your wire or rope or strap broke. So if your rope or cable breaks, so this guy's gonna take that kinetic energy. It's gonna also help keep the rope or winch cable safely away from you and mainly reduce that recoil again in the unlikely event of a brake failure on your strap or or cable. So a nice, nice addition. Highly recommend using those. If you've ever been stuck and you've had something break on you, you can know it's very scary. I've had stuff break on me in the past, never knew these existed. Now, I've got one in my one 4x4 that we use off-roading and it's just a little side by side. It's nothing big, but even something small like that, this guy here is just gives you a little peace of mind if nothing else, so very nice addition. Folks, everything here, as I mentioned, it does come with a nice three-year warranty and once again, everything does fit nice and neat in the bag. I'll pop that image up one last time for you. Well, folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our look at this ARB Premium Recovery Winch Rigging Kit with the Storage Bag. I'm Steven. Thanks so much for watching. Have a great day.
I recently added a winch to my 5th gen 4Runner. Which is fairly useless without the straps, shackles, and damper to properly use it. This kit has been great for me. It is a great combination of gear to address most any recovery situation. I have had a chance to use the snatch strap to do a straight pull of a truck out of mud. And used the extension, shackles, damper and gloves for a few winch recoveries.
Even being fairly new to recovering vehicles I felt confident using this kit. Everything is super high quality, no concerns about anything failing (use dampers anyway!). And all of the pieces performed well.
I get to have a lot of fun rescuing stuck people. And get the confidence of knowing I can always get out of sticky situations.
