How Counteract Tire Balancing Works
Once your tire begins to roll, the beads will get distributed around its interior thanks to centrifugal force. As the wheel continues to spin, the heavy spot in your unbalanced tire will pull up and down on your vehicle's suspension. This will cause the beads to shift in the opposite direction of that pull. Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Counteract single 14 ounce bag of tire balancing beads. Now things Counteract balancing beads are the economical way to balance your tire and wheel assembly for the lifetime of your tire. And these beads are designed to install inside your tire. Let me zoom in and show you. Basically, this is the bag you'll get, this is a 14 ounce bag and when you get this, you just tear off the top, which I've already done.
And you can dump out the insides and we'll go through all these parts. You'll get this 14 ounce bag of balancing beads. You'll get this to vortex valve core and you'll get these two valve caps. This one's a self sealing cap and this one is a double seal flow-through cap. Now the beads themselves are made of coated glass spheres.
The balancing beads will not cause any damage to the inner liner of your tire. They won't clump regardless of excess moisture and they are TPMS compatible. They are environmentally friendly construction. They are reusable and recyclable. And how these will balance your tire, let me just show you, there's a little insert I'm gonna pop up there.
Basically what happens is once your tire begins to roll, this bag that's on the inside will break open and the beads are gonna get distributed around the interior thanks to centrifugal force. And as that wheel continues to spin, the heavy spot of your imbalanced tire will pull up and down on the vehicle suspension. And this will cause the beads to shift in the opposite direction of that pull. So the beads will continue to migrate until there are enough of them on that opposite side of the heavy spot of the tire, to balance out your tire. These tire balancing beads will continuously and automatically readjust the balance of your truck or off-road tires.
They will reduce vibration and ensure even wear to increase life for the tire, even improves your fuel economy. Now, this is a very easy installation. You just throw this bag into the tire when it's removed from the wheel or you can inject the beads into the valve stem. These beads do remain inside the tire, they don't come loose to contaminate the environment and they will not cause any damage to the wheels. One note I do wanna mention is if your tire has internal TPMS sensors, you will need to break down the tire to install these beads. Application for this 14 ounce bag, this is designed to work on 19 and a half inch to 24 and a half inch heavy truck tires and 15 inch to 26 inch off-road tires. Now to order the correct amount of beads needed for your application, you'll get the size of the tire from the sidewall of the trailer or vehicle, and then match it to the tire sizes that are listed on the product page for that size bag of beads. They do make many sizes, this is a 14 ounce size bag, but they go all the way from like, 4 ounces all the way up to about a 20 ounce bag. Now, in order to reduce the possibility of any valve leaks, they do recommend the Counteract valve core and either one of those metal caps in place of the original valve core and cap. And these are all included in every bag of Counteract beads. These parts are made in the USA, and this is for quantity of one bag of beans for one tire. WARNING on the packaging on these - each outer bag contains an inner bag of beads + a valve stem + a valve cap + a valve extension. The valve parts are just loose inside the outer bag. Problem is, it wasn't clear that the valve parts are even included with the product, and on 3 of the 4 I received, the inner bag was broken. The inner bag was broken on the first one I opened, so not knowing any better, I just dumped the whole thing in the tire and sealed it up, not realizing I had sealed up valve parts in my tires! The second one I opened had in intact inner bag, so I realized my mistake. I had to break the bead on the first tire to get the valve parts out! I haven't driven on them yet, so not sure how well they work, but thought folks she be forewarned about the packaging issue.
I have used balance beads in many kinds of tires (trailer,truck,car,van) and always get way more miles and better wear from my tires . Highly recommend !!!
Balance beads do not work in jeep wheels! I even called the manufacturer to make sure I was using the correct amount for my application.
