Features to know about

Built to Stay Strong Under Load: 3,640-lb Capacity and Zero Offset

This wheel is made for serious hauling. The 16" x 6" Vesper steel modular rim from Taskmaster carries up to 3,640 lbs and has a true zero offset, keeping the load evenly distributed across the hub face. The 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and 4.25" pilot diameter give it the kind of fit you can count on for steady, balanced towing mile after mile.

Corrosion Resistance That Lasts: Acrylic Enamel Over E-Coat Primer

Salt spray, road grime, and wet storage can take their toll, but this one holds up. The silver acrylic enamel finish goes over a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and an e-coat primer layer for excellent protection. It’s rated for more than 1,000 hours of salt spray resistance and resists chipping and scratches better than powder coat finishes, so the wheel keeps its clean look longer.

Secure Fit That Stays Tight: Beveled Stud Holes

Constantly re-torquing lug nuts is no fun. This design uses beveled stud holes that seat firmly against the trailer hub to keep the wheel tight in place under load. It’s a simple feature that helps prevent loosening and gives peace of mind on long runs.

Ready for Real Pressure Tires: High PSI Valve Stem Included

The included valve stem is rated for 100 psi, and the wheel itself handles up to 145 psi—plenty of margin for heavy-duty tires. For setups that need even higher pressure, a metal bolt-in valve stem like part # AM20906 can push past 100 psi with ease. That means this wheel can pair with everything from standard E-range tires to higher-pressure options without compromise.

Straightforward Specs for Confident Matching: 16" x 6", 6 on 5-1/2", 0 Offset

You know exactly what you’re getting here—16" diameter, 6" width, 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern, and a pilot diameter of 4.25". It meets SAE J1204 standards and includes a valve stem right out of the box. Simple numbers that make it easy to pair with the right tire and hardware and get rolling without guesswork.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

good service/communication and timely delivery THANKS!!!

by:

Well made and fast delivery.

by:

As advertised.

by:

The only problem with the order was that the fifth wheel was packed with one of the two packs without extra packing. This caused metal to metal contact. These three wheels had burrs from that and the paint was scratched up. Due to a scheduled trip I had to use them. It could have been a five star rating had there been more care packaging them.

by:

The wheel in itself is a great wheel for the price. however unbeknownst to me once these arrived i took them straight to the tire shop (in the box) with the new G rated 14ply trailer tires to have them mounted. tire shop advised that once they opened the boxes, several wheels were bent around the rim. although it looked ugly luckily, the tires mounted okay. i had to buy some chrome rings to cover the ugly bends and dents (so more money) and contacted etrailer only to be told "oh sorry to hear about that. what i should have done was sent them back but they were already mounted and i would be charged again for that. didnt get any credit or discount offer from etrailer, they just seemed to not care. i've always purchased my trailer parts from etrailer because they've always been good to me, but i guess good thing must come to an end.

Quick delivery!

Nice heavy duty rims fast shipping

by:

Nice quality wheel, great finish and I like that the metal valve stem is included.

by:

Bought this rim as a spare for our Vermeer WoodChipper. Just what we needed.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Came with the proper valve stem for high pressure inflation. Very fast shipping.

by:

Always a great experience working with etrailer. Very knowledgeable, great service, super fast shipping, great product selection and a feeling that you worked with a company that earned your business and you want to go back to again-what else could you want?

by:

After having a few trailer tire blowouts over the past few years, I decided to carry an extra spare for my gooseneck horse trailer. This wheel looks like a good match. I haven't mounted a tire yet, but so far I am happy with the service and products from etrailer.com.

by:

Nice upgrade from my original trailer wheels. It came with 14.5 diameter rims

  • 16 inch Trailer Wheel that Can Handle Weight and PSI Capacity of Load Range G Tire
Yes, we have 16 inch by 6 inch trailer wheels that have weight and psi capacity for a Load Range G trailer tire like the part # TTWPRG235R16 which is rated for 110 psi and 4,400 lbs.. This has the same 4,400 lb weight capacity and can easily handle 110 psi as well. We don't typically list the psi rating for the wheels as normally it's just the valve stem that limits the psi as the wheels are normally capable of much more than needed.

  • ST235/85R16 Tire Mounted on a Silver Mod Wheel
We have a wheel and tire to make up what you're looking for but we don't have it in a combo that is already mounted on a wheel. Instead you need: Westlake 235/85-16 Load Range G tire part # LHWL410 Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel part # TA73VR It's the same tire but a different wheel. This wheel causes a small drop in your capacity because it's only rated for 3,500 pounds where the 8 lug wheel is rated at 3,750 pounds.

  • Will the Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheels Fit a 2020 Keystone Cougar 366RDS
They should, but to be sure you'd need to make sure the tires you have will work with a 16" wheel. If they can, then the Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel # TA73VR will work fine.

  • Steel 16" Trailer Wheels With 6 on 5-1/2" Bolt Pattern
Here is a list of our 16" steel trailer wheels which have the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. We will not have any wheels which have the 95.4mm pilot hole you are needing which should not likely be an issue since trailers will typically use a coned Lug Nut # CE11051 which lug centers the wheel rather than hub centering the wheel like several vehicles will require. If your trailer hub is hub centric and uses a Flange Nut # LI84FR you will need to have an centric ring adapter made to fit the wheels....

  • High Air Pressure Capacity 16 inch Aluminum Trailer Wheel Recommendation
The Aluminum HWT Series S5 Trailer Wheel # AM22658HWTB that you referenced should do well for you. I spoke to my contact at HWT and they informed me that the PSI rating for their wheels like the part # AM22658HWTB is limited by the valve stem and tire that is used in the wheel. This rim has the correct bolt pattern and width that you listed as well to match # TA73VR. We don't carry a valve stem for this rim that would have a high enough air pressure capacity but you should be able to...

  • Backspacing and Offset of 16 Inch Diameter Wheels with 6 on 5-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern
No, we offer 16" diameter wheels with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern in different offsets/backspacings. If the wheel has an offset then it will be listed in the title or on the product page. I have attached a list of these options for you. If you need a wheel with a negative offset then I recommend part # AM22657 which has an -8mm offset which means the backspacing will be around 3.3". If you need a wheel with a 0 offset then I recommend part # TA73VR which has a 3.5" backspacing. In order...

  • Recommended 235/85R16 Tires on 5th Wheel Trailer with Weight Capacity Rated Above Tire/Axle Capacity
Your Pilgrim International Open Road 357RLDS definitely has tires needing replaced. It is not uncommon to use LT tires on trailers, but it sounds like they have some dry rot going on. The stamp on the wheel rim unfortunately is not anything I'm familiar with so I can't help with that, but I can tell you that most trailers use a zero offset meaning that the mounting surface of the wheel to the hub is in the direct middle of the tire. The triangular or circular cutouts in the wheel are...

  • Difference Between Conventional and Modular Trailer Wheels
A example of a conventional steel trailer wheel is Dexstar # AM20766. Modular wheels are simply trailer wheels that feature cosmetically-appealing holes rather than spokes or a solid inner surface. A good example of a modular trailer wheel would be the Taskmaster Steel # TA73VR.

  • What is Standard 6 Bolt Wheel Pattern for 16 inch Trailer Wheel
6 on 6 inch is not a standard trailer bolt pattern so we won't be able to get that for you. The closest would be a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern 16 inch wheel like the part # TA73VR. If this is a trailer application most likely this is the bolt pattern you need. I attached a help article on determining bolt patterns for you to check out as well.

  • Does the Center Hole Matter on a Trailer Wheel and can 16 Inch Wheels be Replaced with 15 Inch
First, the center (pilot) hole on Taskmaster wheel # TA73VR is 4-1/4 inches. This will only matter if A) the wheels secure to the hubs with wheel bolts rather than lug nuts or B) if the pilot hole is too small. It can be larger just not smaller if it attaches with lug nuts. You can go to a smaller tire and wheel size provided the combined capacity of all of the tires is high enough for the gross trailer weight. I have included some helpful links on tires and wheels for you.

  • 16 Inch Wheels for 235/85-16 Tires on a 2000 Keystone Montana 3270 5th Wheel Trailer
Trailer tire size ST235/85-16 will fit on 16 inch wheels that are 6 to 7-1/2 inches wide. For trailer tires the narrower the wheel the better in terms of capacity and longevity. The tire you mentioned seems to be a load Range E which means it is rated for 3,640 pounds at the maximum psi indicated on the tire sidewall. The problem with this is wheel # AM22657 is rated for a max of 3,200 pounds. A similar wheel that is silver steel, # TA73VR, is rated for 3,500 pounds. Aluminum wheel #...

  • Trailer Hub/Rotor Kit that has 6 on 5-1/2 inch Bolt Pattern
A 6 on 139.7 mm bolt pattern is the same as a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern which is the same as what the Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel # TA73VR that you referenced has. I don't know what capacity axle you have, but the Kodiak kit part # K2HR526DKG is for 5,200 to 6,000 lb axles and has the 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This also has a corrosion resistant coating which helps in boat trailer scenarios since they will be in and out of water a lot. The bearing numbers this takes...

  • Recommended Replacement Wheels and Tires For a 2001 Kieferbilt Horse Trailer With 5,200LB Axles
The Dexstar # AM20746 is going to have a silver powder coat finish while the Vesper # TA73VR has a more durable acrylic enamel finish which is resists damage better than powder coat. For the tires I recommend sticking with a quality ST235/80R16 load range E tire like the Karrier # AM10248. Going up to a 14-ply like the Westlake # WE76FR will cause the tire to bounce more than deflect which transfers more shock into the trailer causing a worse ride for your horses and equipment.

  • Does Tire Pressure Matter to Wheels in the Same Manner as Tires?
The tire pressure isn't a factor with wheels (but valve stems are pressure rated so your existing ones may need to be switched if they're not rated for your new tires); for this reason it's not going to be a concern as much as the load rating/weight capacity of the tires and wheels being consistent; this is simply from a standpoint of making sure that you're maximizing your carrying capacity, which is usually the purpose of upgrading. When towing, you're always rated by your lowest rated...

  • Is Wheel Balanced Before Shipping Or Only Wheel Tire Combinations?
While we aren't able to balance our tires and wheels (we don't have the proper equipment in house to do so), this isn't typically necessary with trailer tires. Trailer tires and wheels are made different and operate differently. Unlike with passenger vehicle, trailer tires are made to support heavy weights and ride comfort isn't a vital attribute. So to answer part of your question, the Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel - 16" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver # TA73VR are not balanced...

Since Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel - 16" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver Item # TA73VR has a zero offset the backspacing is half the overall width of the wheel. The overall width of the wheel is approximately 7 inches making the backspacing approximately 3-1/2 inches. If you need a certain amount of space let me know and I can see if we have a match.

  • Max PSI Of Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel
The Taskmaster Steel Modular Trailer Wheel - 16" x 6" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver # TA73VR does not have a specified max psi. The max psi is based on the valve stem, so it is most likely an 85 psi stem that comes with the wheel. If you need a higher psi to run your tires at the max psi as they should be, I recommend using the Americana Metal, Bolt-In Valve Stem - 1-1/4" Long - Over 100 psi # AM20906.
