Features to know about

Built to Handle Heavy Loads with Confidence: 6,005-lb Steel Strength

When you’re hauling serious weight, a strong wheel makes all the difference. This heavy-duty 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" steel modular wheel is rated for 6,005 lbs and uses an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern with a +0.5" offset. It’s designed for use on trucks, buses, and trailers that need real strength and reliability under load.

Corrosion Resistance that Lasts: 3-Step Powder Coat Protection

Rust and road grime won’t stand a chance thanks to the wheel’s 3-step finish. It starts with a zinc phosphate bath for adhesion, then an acrylic e-coat primer, and finally a baked-on silver DuPont powder coat on both sides. That attention to detail keeps the steel looking clean and protected season after season.

Hub-Piloted Setup for Secure Mounting: Made for Flange Nuts

This hub-piloted design centers directly on the hub for a precise fit every time. It requires flange nuts (sold separately) for installation, giving you a solid and balanced mounting surface that won’t shift under heavy use. The pilot diameter is 4.76", and the flange nut size is 5/8"-18 for a secure hold.

Ready for Real-World Durability: Built to SAE J1204 Standards

Every wheel meets SAE J1204 standards, so you know it’s built to perform where it counts. From long hauls to everyday towing, it’s engineered for strength, balance, and dependable service life backed by a 2-year limited warranty.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Video Transcript for Review of Americana Trailer Tires and Wheels - Hub Piloted Modular Silver Steel Wheel - AM92NR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look together at this Americana Hub Piloted Modular Silver Steel Wheel. Now this heavy duty hub piloted steel wheel has a capacity of 6,005 pounds and a positive offset of 0.5" to ensure that it is positioned closer to your trailer frame. And this is designed for trailers with disc brakes and this steel wheel with this modular design, as you can see here, goes through a three step finishing process that makes this both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion, and then it is e-coated with an acrylic primer base and then finished on both sides with baked on DuPont silver powder paint. Now, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together, this is a hub piloted wheel, which means it will center on the hub of the axle and not on the lug.

The pilot hole diameter is 4.76". This does require the use of flange nuts for installation. We do sell them separately here on our website. And this does use a wheel lug size of 5/8" by 18 flange nut and the measurements of our wheel, looking at the diameter first, measuring beat seat to bead seat where the tire actually meets the wheel, that is going to be 17-1/2" in diameter. And then looking at the width again from bead seat to beat seat is 6-3/4" wide, and our bolt pattern is 8 on 6-1/2".

And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, and then the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes as we have here, you simply measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the bold hole directly across from it. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

See what our Experts say about this Americana Trailer Tires and Wheels

  • How to Tell if my Trailer Wheel Has an Offset or Not
Hey Robert, To find your offset you'll need to measure from the mounting surface of your lugs to both outer edges of your current wheels. A negative offset will move the tire further away from the trailer while a positive offset brings the tire closer. I'm adding a photo to further help demonstrate this, but basically the wheels you're looking at will sit this closer/further away than a 0 offset wheel where the mounting surface is right in the middle: - Americana # AM92NR sits 0.5"...

  • What Size Valve Stem Does The Rim AM92NR Require?
Hey George, The Americana wheel, # AM92NR, requires a 0.625" or 5/8" valve stem like part # AM20907. That is a standard size throughout 17-1/2" rims. Do the rims you are replacing have an offset like this one?
