Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

A year later they are still working great. I have around 6,000 miles on them, and have great brake stopping power.

Good fit, fast shipping.

by:

One of my trailer's four brake drums cracked which initiated a complete brake system inspection and repair. Having sourced supplies from e-trailer previously, I knew I could get everything I needed quickly and all would be superior quality. Surprisingly, it was more economical to do a complete brake assembly replacement on all four wheels rather than a selective piece/part upgrade on the 12 year old systems. An exact fit meant the whole job was done in a couple of hours.

by:

These brake drums appear to be excellent quality parts, all genuine Dexter replacements. These are all Made in USA, replacing the ones on my trailer that are made in China. The reason for three stars is the drums were poorly packaged, causing light to moderate surface marking, and some paint removal. One of the drums also exhibited surface corrosion on the drum ID and armature surface, as well as the inner bearing recess. The drums were wrapped with a single sheet of brown paper, then shipped two per shipping carton, with no additional protection. The damage is not severe enough to warrant return of these heavy items, but I am disappointed in Etrailer's minimalistic packaging process.

by:

Bad: Read the fine print on etrailer before you purchase. I paid with a debit card. It took 2 months for my hubs to be shipped. I thought they charged my card at the time of purchase. They charged 2 months later. This would of been OK if it were a credit card. They almost made me bounce a check by charging my debit card 2 months later. Ok, heres my mistake, I ordered the wrong thing. I am willing to pay the $28 shipping back to you. They charged $28 shipping and a fee of $38. My bill was $224. I was refunded $158. I will not do business with them again. Wonder if they will delete this comment.
Good: They are very polite.

by:

Packaging was extensively torn up, and someone attempted to tape it back together. The contents were not packed tightly inside the boxes.

The parts were as ordered, and shipping time was as quoted.

Over all I am only giving the rating a 4 star due to the poor packaging. Had the order been something more fragile I question as to whether it would have arrived safely.

by:

Product was correct size and came as promised.

by:

Delivery was as promised. Quality of the Dexter hub/drum was excellent as expected. Great job eTrailer!

by:

They painted the thread on the lugs. Had to find a die to clean them. Kind of a pain and not expected

by:

Top quality product combined with excellent communication and fast shipping.

by:

The bearings, cap, and seals are included with the Hub and drum. However, this hub wouldn't be compatible with a 15 inch wheel, which is what you were wanting because you already have a set of tires for a 15 inch wheel. The brake drum you need will depend on the inside diameter and depth of your existing drums, as well as the inner and outer wheel bearing reference numbers and the wheel bolt pattern. To recommend the correct brake assemblies, I'd need to know whether your existing brake assemblies fasten to the brake mounting flange with 4 or 5 bolts. • Parts Needed to Convert Trailer from Hydraulic Drum Brakes to Disc Brakes
Changing a trailer over from hydraulic drum brakes to hydraulic disc brakes requires both the new brake and hub/rotor assemblies that use your same bearing set, a new actuator, brake flanges and a brake line kit. The pressure rating of a drum brake actuator is lower than that of a disc brake type, generally 1000-1100 psi versus 1600 psi for a disc brake actuator. This is why the actuator needs to be changed. You will also need to select new hub/rotor assemblies that match the bearings used...

You will need to get the other bearing number from inside your current hubs before we can pick you out replacement hubs.
