Hauling over uneven ground doesn’t have to mean getting tossed around. The Roadmaster Comfort Ride system uses heavy-duty, nitrogen-charged shocks that limit up-and-down motion on both compression and rebound. You’ll see up to a 50% reduction in road-transferred force on pavement, up to 76% less over cobblestones, and as much as a 94% drop on gravel. That smoother motion keeps your trailer steady, reduces chucking and porpoising, and helps everything inside stay put.

Standard equalizers send shock from one axle to another, but this setup isolates each axle so they work independently. The center hanger boxes stop shock transfer between axles, which can boost tire traction during braking by as much as 70%. With each axle absorbing bumps on its own, there’s no axle roll-up or loss of traction—just steadier control and a calmer tow.

Inside each center hanger box, a roller sits above the flat end of the slipper spring. This keeps the spring from hopping and turns that sharp up-and-down energy into smoother front-to-back movement. The result is a quieter, more controlled ride without the jolts you get from a typical equalizer setup.

The slipper springs come with Never Fail bushings already pressed into the eyes. Made with molybdenum and graphite, these bushings are more durable than brass or nylon and never need greasing. That means less maintenance and fewer squeaks for the long haul.
Designed for triple-axle trailers with 3" diameter axles (typical 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb axles), each spring handles 3,500 lbs. The springs measure 27" long by 1-3/4" wide and use four 3/8"-thick leaves. Shock length runs from 17-1/2" extended to 11-1/2" compressed. With six springs, four center hanger boxes, and six shocks, this system brings a solid foundation for a smoother, safer towing experience.

Ratings & Reviews
I had the upgraded suspension installed on my trailer last year, and overall, I’ve been very pleased with how it performs. The suspension itself works great—it really helps smooth out the ride and adds stability, especially when towing long distances.
That said, I’ve run into an issue with uneven tire wear on the back axle. After only about 3,000 miles, the inside tread wore down so much that I had to replace the tires far sooner than expected. This suggests that while the suspension system is solid, the installation and alignment need to be absolutely precise to avoid problems like this.
I’m currently working on figuring out the best way to correct the issue, but I still believe this suspension is a good product. My advice to others would be to make sure you have it professionally installed and double-check the alignment before hitting the road. With the proper setup, it’s a great investment for safe and comfortable towing.
Additionally, I had to add a cross brace to reinforce the set up and it worked great. I got that from MORyde.
After one year of using the comfort springs I can say they are one of the best upgrades we did for our trailer! It pulls better now, and the truck handles the bumps so much better. The comfort ride are certainly the best value for suspension upgrades. I was hesitant to install them myself, but the instructions were well written and easy to follow.
The kit assembled well. Maybe a few missing washers due to shipping damage. Only 6 miles on the trailer but they felt much smoother. So for now I would buy again, but I would pay to have them installed. I’m getting too old!
The product arrive in about two days. I will have them installed February 3. I just hope all the pieces are there. The springs box was destroyed during shipping, but the smaller boxe and shocks box was still sealed
I wish there were clearer instructions so we don't have to disassemble and reassemble. Questionable torque instructions.
We made our trip from Florida to Utah and back and we didn’t have the rear blinds falling off as it rode much smoother! Much easier to maintain too!
I have had the suspension kit on for over a year now and I would do it again. The springs and all the hardware seem to be of much higher quality that the OEM stuff that was on the trailer. After the install, (which I did myself. Not a real hard job) the camper rides and tows much smoother. between the slipper springs and adding shocks the stuff inside the camper is pretty much where it was when we packed it. So I am hoping it will extend the life of the camper by not beating itself to death when towed.
This is a great suspension upgrade for your camper. The ride quality after installation is much improved, noticeably smoother towing and no more worries about bust leafspring or shackles. Took about 4 or 5 hours to install with basic tools in my driveway. Definitely recommend upgrading.
OMG! After having the trailer bottom out on the stock springs while traversing a RR crossing, this system has proven to be amazing. Returning from a VA campground I crossed multiple RR crossings and traveled some rough pavement. I found I had left a bottle of shower soap on the ledge in the shower! It was still there when I set up in my yard. Not possible with the stock suspension!
I am very impressed with this kit. The quality of the pieces are exceptional and the instructions are easy to follow and understand. I did it with no help, just take your time. I hope it helps improve the ride of the camper to help soften our horrible roads and reduce the strain on the camper.
Good product, was missing a few key pieces that were important for final installation. Contacted the manufacturer and they resolved the issue, but took their sweet time in getting me the replacement parts needed. Other than that little snafu, everything went great and the system has made a positive improvement in the trailer handling. Highly recommend.
Install wasn’t bad. Grand design welds a V bracket inside the spring hangers for more strength so that was my only challenge on install. This caused a problem on the center hanger as the spacer wouldn’t fit. Had to grind about a quarter inch off the spacer so it would fit as I could only bend the bottom of the hangers so much. Will be towing about 100 miles this weekend so it will be nice to hopefully not have broken drawers in the back of the trailer as well as shelves in the fridge door dislodged. I also did the X factor cross braces on the front and rear hangers for more strength. Will post back after we get more miles on it, but given all the other positive reviews I don’t think I’ll be unhappy.
The system is well designed and was easy to install. The only items missing from the kit that are needed are new u-bolts, the old ones are too short for the new heavy duty hardware and new ones should be included with the kit.
This kit was relatively easy to install with a little mechanical knowledge and tools. Definitely a great upgrade to most OME suspension systems.
The comfort ride system in my opinion is far superior to the standard leaf springs system. With fewer moving parts and the ability to act as an independent suspension system it outperforms the standard leaf springs.
We've run about 7,000 miles since we installed the Roadmaster Comfort ride kit. I can definitely tell that the 5th wheel doesn't bounce as much as it did with the CRE 3000 suspension. And I haven't had any tire issues since installing either.
Easy install in the driveway, completed in 2 evenings after work. This kit changes the way the trailer rides and it was very noticeable. We have a 17,000lb toy hauler with a Reese Goosebox hitch, the hitch made a difference but due to the factory suspension we would still feel every jolt on the road. Once this kit was installed and accompanied by our new G load range tires, the fifth wheel feels more planted to the road and has minimal sway or fore and aft movements. Definitely worth the investment.
I am very happy with the Roadmaster suspension kit I installed on my Toy Hauler.
The leaf springs are much more beefier than the original leaf springs and I do not worry about broken springs anymore. I have to think the shock absorbers are making for a much smoother ride going down the road and everything inside the trailer is being protected from the constant vibrations.
Really made a big difference in ride and smoothness, things don't get thrown around the 5th wheel anymore. Great addition
Etrailer sent the spring kit in a timely manner. I had help for shipping from support because the 8k springs seemed to be out of stock so I had to switch from the 7k I originally ordered. We got it sorted out eventually, thanks Etrailer! Roadmaster has a good price for a suspension kit and not much difference in price between the kits, which is why I opted for the heaviest. We carry a lot of stuff as full time Nomads! It came in two heavy boxes, so I took the parts out to move them around. The instructions were pretty good, a couple spots required some head scratching. I did not lift the whole trailer up at once but did it one side after another. Probably would have been a little easier to lift the whole trailer to line things up. The kit worked as expected, very robust. We have traveled the country and up to Alaska with the springs and so far, no complaints! I opted for the heaviest kit 8K which might be overkill for my 7K axles, so the ride is a bit more rough/stiff that our previous experience with the poor flat out springs and shocks on our Arctic Fox 295t. New things bounce around, but that is life in a trailer, right?
The Roadmaster system is a very robust, well-engineered system. I have not towed with it yet but can only assume, because of the design, that my towing experience will be greatly improved.
Very Happy with the Roadmaster Suspension! A must have item! (Along with my previously installed X-Factor cross braces)
Anything to smooth out the beating that our US roads provide, is a good thing for both the 5th wheel frame/structure and our contents inside. Thank you etrailer and Roadmaster! 2022 GD Solitude 310GK. Note: Frame repair plates in photos were to repair 3" frame cracks that formed prior to installing Roadmaster and X-Factors.
Had this system installed on 2021 Vanleigh Pinecrest 330MKP by Prestige Trailer Solutions Hudson,Fl Extremely happy with the install and product.Noticeably smoother ride, very little chucking and tires no longer hitting outriggers going over bumps.
By far the best upgrade to our 5th wheel RV. It pulls and rides like a dream now.
Possibly the best upgrade for any camper. No more road seam feedback to the truck, everything inside the camper stays put during travel. If you're questioning if it's worth the cost, it it. Roadmaster customer service was very helpful with getting the correct kit identified.
