Video Transcript for Review of MEC Propane Fittings - Hoses 8 ft Femal Flare Swivel - MEC29UR

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this MEC propane hose with a three inch female flare swivel fitting on both ends. Folks, this is an eight foot long hose. If you're replacing a worn out propane hose, maybe you're putting together a new LP gas system in an RV, maybe a van, camper van, something like that, trailer, food truck, who knows Having flexibility when and where you need it between components makes installation a lot easier. So instead of trying to line everything up with rigid piping, this eight foot hose gives you plenty of room to route propane connections exactly where you need them.

And that flexibility can also help accommodate normal movement and vibration while you're traveling. Now as you can see, it's cable tied together. I just left it here for our viewing pleasure today. And on the end, again, you have that three eighth inch female flare swivel fitting. So you don't have to twist the hose.

You can get your wrench on here and twist just the fitting. Now the flare connection creates a seal at the mating surfaces of the fitting so you don't have to use thread tape or seal it on the flare itself. Now you want to always check your existing hoses as well. If you're starting to see signs of age, cracking, damage, chunks missing, just go ahead and replace it before you develop a leak. Obviously you don't want to take any chances, right Gas can be very dangerous, especially if it blows up and those kind of things.

So if you see any signs of wear, just replace it and be safe. Now that being said, with any propane connections you do, whether it's hoses or fittings, once you install that, you always want to leak test those fittings before putting that system back into service. And MEC Propane sells a gas leak detection fluid we sell separately. It's a 16 ounce bottle. It's part number MEC78TR and I highly recommend that to check those fittings.

So folks, whether you're replacing the existing line or adding the flexibility that you need in a new setup, this is a straightforward eight foot hose, easy to install with three eighth inch female flare connections. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
