Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this MORryde shackle upgrade kit for triple axle trailers with the LRE leaf spring suspension and the OEM correct track hangers. Now, this heavy duty shackle kit is an excellent upgrade for your RV suspension. This kit is designed for triple axle trailers with the LRE leaf spring suspension, and the two and a quarter inch shackles, and the OEM correct track hangers. Now, on this kit, what's nice is it's a half inch thick shackle bracket, which are thicker and stronger.
They're more durable than your standard quarter-inch thick factory brackets. They also use the bronze bushings instead of the plastic bushings for increased durability. And the bolts that are used on these shackles are greasable bolts, also known as wet bolts. They're easily maintained. They help minimize wear and tear versus a dry bowl.
Now basically, in a multiaxial system, the shackle is light, we'll link the springs and the equalizers in your suspension system. And the shackles are the part that'll handle the most movement and weight in a suspension setup, therefore, they're the most likely component to wear, and should be checked frequently. The shackle bolts, these are what'll hold the shackle straps. These are your straps to your leaf springs and to your equalizer. And normally it has dry bolts which over time can wear out and fail.
As we mentioned, these use the wet bolts. So, besides having these thicker straps here, the wet bolts that they use have a nice grease zerc fitting on the end, and that allows you to apply grease to the inside of the bushing. So if you slide your bushing off, you'll see a little hole right here. So when you attach your grease gun to this zerc fitting pump in the grease, it'll go on the inside of the bolt, and come out that hole. And then with your bushing installed, the grease will be on the inside.
So it gives you good lubrication on the bushings. Keeps wear from happening at these connection points. Now, this upgrade kit will replace the shackle straps, the bushings and lock nuts on your RV suspension system. This kit does come with everything I laid out here on the table. It includes 12 of the two and a quarter inch long shackle straps, and they're half inch wide, we mentioned. And when I say two and a quarter inch long, basically they're measured from the center of this hole to the center of that hole. That's the measurement we're saying when it's two and a quarter inches. Comes with over here four of these three bolts straps, 22 of the nine sixteenths by three and three eighths inch long wet bolt. Comes with two of the nine sixteenths by two and seven-eighths inch long wet bolts, 16 of the bronze bushings, 24 of the flange lock nuts. And then right here, comes with eight of the sheer spring brackets with the hardware. Does also come with a nice set of installation instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. And these parts are made in the USA, but that should do it for the review on the MORryde shackle upgrade kit for your triple axle trailers, with the LRE leaf spring suspension and the OEM correct track hangers..
