Rough pavement and uneven tracks can beat up a trailer over time. This 2-leaf slipper spring flexes to take the hit, smoothing out bumps and keeping your load steadier. The spring’s 24-1/4"" length and 1-3/4"" width help control bounce and sway, giving a level ride that reduces wear and tear on your trailer frame and cargo.
For small trailers, balance and control matter more than brute strength. Each spring carries a 500-lb capacity, pairing up for a 1,000-lb axle rating. That gives dependable support without over-stiffening the suspension, so the trailer tracks straight and rides true mile after mile.
Mounting is straightforward thanks to the 9/16"" eye and pre-installed nylon bushing. The slipper end slides easily into the rear hanger or equalizer, while the eye end bolts securely to the front hanger. The nylon bushing cuts friction and noise, keeping the movement smooth and quiet as the spring flexes.
To keep your suspension geometry right, both sides need equal flex and height. Replacing springs in pairs ensures proper axle alignment and even performance across the trailer. It’s a simple step that helps protect tires, hangers, and shackles from uneven stress.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this 2-leaf slipper spring for your 1,000 pound trailer axle. Now this is a 2-leaf slipper spring that's designed for trailers with 1,000 pound trailer axles, making this a good fit for those smaller utility trailers, lightweight cargo trailers and similar applications. But its job is to support your trailer's weight while helping absorb bumps and road shock, which is going to create a smoother, more stable towing experience. Now let me go ahead and get my tape measure here.
I'm gonna be measuring from the center of the spring all the way to the end. So measuring that there, as I hope you can see, we are sitting pretty close to 24 1/4 inches. And I know depending on the angle, that's gonna look a little bit different than what you see in person there. But so, the length's gonna be 24 1/4 inches. The width, 1 3/4 inches.
And so this is a common size for many single axle trailer suspension setups. The 2-leaf design is going to give you the flexibility needed to cushion impacts from rough roads while helping keep the trailer riding level. At the front of the spring is a 9/16 of an inch eye with a nylon bushing. The bushing allows the spring to pivot smoothly as the suspension moves. That's gonna help reduce friction and wear compared to that metal on metal contact.
The spring individually is rated for 500 pound capacity, so you pair this up with another one. That's where you're gonna get your 1000 pound trailer axle support. Now, installation's gonna require spring hangers which mount to the trailer frame and are sold separately, but you can find them here at etrailer. Those hangers secure the spring and allow the suspension to function correctly under the load. One thing to remember though, leaf spring should always be replaced in pairs.
Even if one spring appears worn or damaged, replacing both is going to ensure proper axle alignment, balanced weight support, and consistent suspension performance. Now if you think you need help with installation, on this product page, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link and answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area to do the install for you. Well again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Spring was fine, had to modify due to being to long. Needed 22 inch, and ordered a 24 in. My mistake.
Express delivery. Perfect fit!
Good product fast delvery
cheap but seem good quality
Perfect fit! Better load carrying capability (3 leaf replacement for 2 leaf springs). The right part for the job! I rebuilt my King boat trailer for a 16 ft Lund skiff with 30 hp Yamaha outboard. Austin B at etrailer (Thanks Austin) helped me determine fitment. While this was only one part of the rebuild it was a strategic choice. Now I can carry all my extra gear in the boat when it’s on the trailer and springs are not overloaded!
